A Day at the Races
Ha ha, I realise it’s a field of four but jeez. I remember once in a field of 3 I wanted to place an exacta then thought if I get the exacta I will also get the tri, so I filled out a trifecta ticket and my cousin that was with me at the time stopped me and said to place my initial exacta bet. I asked why? He said everyone will be thinking like me and the exacta might pay more than the tri as there’s less people betting on it. He was right that time.

Well done mate. Of course JJ selects the first four in order in the second at Morphetville and I missed it due to adding nothing of value to the Hogan thread. ??? just saw the dividend for the first four. $2.00... the tri paid more.

This thread is the new internet sensation, we could have half a million views by the time we get to 300 pages.

A Day at the Races
I was once told Adelaide was money for jam during the Spring Racing. Smaller fields and you do find some good horses running around. We probably don’t spend the time studying there as much as we do for the Group racing here and Sydney. I don’t anyway Macca. It was indeed an impressive win by Unite and Conquer Macca. These first starters are tricky to pick and I just went with the Waterhouse & Bott combo due to my mate’s connections with them. I had no mail from him just an attempt at pot luck. Worked out good, best bets are on now on and it’s time to sit back and enjoy the day. I did receive a text a short time ago from a work colleague with an each way chance at Flemington. Race 4 No.7 Farooq.

A Day at the Races
Cheers Macca. Took his selections in order in the first for a F4. A couple of bucks won’t hurt. Good start to the day with Unite And Conquer saluting in the 1st at Flem. Managed to find $9 Fat Odds. Edit: The $9 outsider of the four salutes at Morphetville. That happens more often than we think in small fields. Good win too.

Having a look at the ‘Without Winx’ market. Kings Will Dream $3.00 Grunt $3.20 I believe the odds for both are excellent value, but which one?

5th in their B&F last night. According to some of his teammates, they’re none the wiser (bollocks) after giving nothing away on the speculation.

Maybe he should have his own thread titled Manurerisms.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
This was mentioned last night by Tom Morris ‘On The Couch’. I’m not sure what his track record is like but he believes the Neale trade will start an 8 way mega trade. I can’t remember the specifics, all I remember is him stating we will get their first pick and a player back which he didn’t name.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I thought Jesse would play a major part for us striving to gain the ultimate success in the years to come. I never once entertained the thought of the club trading him, but as we all know favourites leave from time to time for one reason or another. This would have been a major blow a few years ago but knowing we have some serious talent on the list and an opportunity to add some more eases the pain to a degree. To say I’m not upset about it though would be a lie.

Andrew Gaff
Imagine the melts on the North boards if we manage to pinch Gaff off them last minute. Let it happen.

He also reported North is making a last ditch attempt at Lynch. Even if his reports are BS, amusement nonetheless.

A Day at the Races
Ha ha, even is a very good result Macca. I finished a little in front, banking it for next week. The Caulfield track is known to be tricky especially if there’s a bit of wind about. The wind didn’t seem an issue though. Maybe it’s one those ‘forget’ runs from Grunt. It will be interesting to see what they do from here. It’s in the markets for the Caulfield Cup as well. Maybe there’s a race they will target as a lead up to the Cox on Guineas day.

A Day at the Races
I thought it was a very strong win by Homesman. You could see the jock on Grunt working on the horse before the home turn. I need to watch the replay to see if Grunt did a bit of work early to get to the front. The Spring is well and truly kicking off Macca, it will only get better from here.

A Day at the Races
It was looming as the winner at one stage Macca. Currently looking into the next and I notice there’s a ‘Wagner’ running. Anything stick out to you?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Is this correct? I was told it was May’s management that initiated the discussions. Either way, I wasn’t sold on May initially but there are some strong arguments on here about what he could add to the team and how it will benefit.

Or we could just stick with Weir ?

A Day at the Races
Well done Macca, early wins set up the day. A bit more freedom with the strategy for the rest of the day, for me anyway. Weir has a couple of horses in the next, very tough race to find a standout. Miss Leonidas is an above average mare, i like Egyptian Bullet at odds and In Good Time is unbeaten after 6 starts albeit in weaker grade. Soothing and Grey Shadow...aaargh too hard this one.
