  1. I would rather see Petracca in for Frost and Oliver return for Brayshaw (although it would be nice to see Brayshaw in the team when Petracca debuts)! Finding room for stars is not the problem Demon fans are accustomed to.
  2. In Oliver and Petracca. Out Brayshaw (rest) and either Harmes or Frost (unlucky).
  3. Viney is now leader in the Herald-Sun "Player of the Year" award (leading Patrick Dangerfield)!
  4. So nice to see Viney leading the Herald-Sun "Player of the Year" award (leading Patrick Dangerfield)!
  5. There would be an even higher total if the staff/volunteers had of maintained their stand at half time last night. There were a lot of enthusiastic 'followers' who tried to convert to "supporters' at half time but were unable to.
  6. Our biggest problem going forward is weekly team selection: who do we drop from yesterday to debut Petracca and bring back the (rested) Oliver, two very useful beasts to propel us into the Eight?
  7. Only impact will be whether he gets extra 'mateship' Brownlow votes for his response in the ANZAC match!
  8. At least we beat the Pies playing "away" at the "G"! The AFL should be thanked for giving us a home ground advantage against the in-form Saints (an opponent to be feared/respected in comparison to the rabble of the last two weeks)! p.s. This time next week I am looking forward to beating our three-match hoodoo and achieving a record membership for our efforts.
  9. My votes are as per Dee Dee (above)
  10. Then we should make it before the match starts. If people buy memberships outside the ground tonight, how long before the membership is recorded with the MFC?
  11. Just turn up at the ground. It is unlikely to be a sell-out!
  12. Not at all worried about tonight and am confident that we will break the two in a row hoodoo. (I am as confident as when we played Essendon.) Our big test in my view is next week against the in-form Saints! If we beat the Saints we will finish Final Eight IMHO.
  13. I'm taking a mate along today into the Members, with the condition that he has to be wearing a 2016 membership scarf, when he meets me. Slowly but surely we will beat the old record prior to the match.
  14. Thanks. Stretch and Smith are two that I was wondering about.
  15. Nice story, not only about Dave and Catherine but about the other "house dads" as well!
  16. Hawthorn and St Kilda have both wrecked my footy tipping record over the last fortnight, as both weeks I picked St Kilda to win and the Hawks to lose. Close but no cigar!
  17. Does anyone know where/when we can see the final team lineup for Casey now that Melbourne has finalised theirs?
  18. I have a Billy Joel CD.
  19. I like this but I suspect that Hunt will stay in at the expense of ANB (although I am relaxed if ANB debuts)!
  20. With a bit of luck (and Demonlanders spreading the word), it would be very disappointing if there wasn't an announcement on the scoreboard at the Saints match that we have reached 40,000. If we are now above 36,647, l should expect that we we will reach the current record prior to the Richmond match on Sunday evening and if we beat the Tigers and Saints maybe even the residual reticent MCC members will feel embarrassed by their lack of a 2016 MFC scarf.
  21. I am not sure how this got out to page 12 of the Demonland posts. How do we get it back on page 1 (and in everybody's face)?
  22. I stated at the beginning of the year that we would make the eight and after last Sunday I am even more confident. Richmond's is no test but the week after against the Saints is. If we beat St Kilda, we will make the Final Eight!
  23. We will be the following week after we beat the Saints (also giving us three in a row)!
  24. A win against Richmond tells us nothing because they are in crisis. Sure it will give us two wins in a row but both against rabble. The defining game will be the following week against an in-form St Kilda who need to be taken seriously. Once we have beaten the Saints and won three on the trot in the process then and only then will we break into the Eight (and stay there)!
  25. Just received a call from my father today. Dad is in his nineties and has been a longtime MFC member until he finally let it lapse this year because he is not steady enough on his feet to battle through the crowds from Richmond station. Last Sunday my brother picked him up in a cab and took him to the Dees vs Pies game and he had a ball. Imagine his surprise today when he received a MFC membership package in the mail recognising his many years of membership and telling him that a MFC staff member had paid his renewal on his behalf. Thank you Melbourne Football Club!
