    If we hadn't lost to Essendon and St Kilda, we may have been a chance, but even if we thrash Collingwood, I cannot see us getting to 40K this year, especially as we are halfway through the season!

    We should engage a good cosmetic surgeon to make Melksham resemble Terlich then play him in our backline. The AFL doesn't have player fingerprints or DNA so it might just work. Terls can have a holiday.

    I am not sure whether we really have a high moral ground here with our venues at the Leighoak and the Bentleigh Club? If we had of been successful with our application for another venue at Fawkner, would we have been any different? As for community benefit, I am not sold that we should be required to support gambling programs, but junior football clinics in the local areas would seem to be a Win-Win for the community!

    We laid 8 tackles in our backline yesterday whereas the Hawks laid 26 in our Forwardline: perhaps therein lies some of the difference in the result?

    After reading these posts, I am glad that I don't have television and am forced to watch the games live surrounded by fellow one-eyed Demon commentators.

    Just looked at the AFL statistics from yesterday's game which are quite telling: a) Both teams had similar possessions yet we had sixty extra handballs vs their sixty extra kicks b) The Hawks had twice as many marks as us (80 vs 40) c) The Hawks had over forty extra tackles to us ( and 26 vs our 8 inside 50 tackles ) This seems to send a message about "kicking the ball" and "forward pressure"!
