I’m still thinking we trade out the pick 49 to either Hawks or Eagles. The Hawks want to add a lot of youth this year and the Eagles have plenty of WA Kids in their sights from this 2021 batch. Suggestion. Dees trade out current 2021 pick 49 for a future 2022 third round from Hawks or Eagles. We can then use draft pick in the early 60s (currently 57) for Taj Woewodin as father son under a “free spin” thought process.

Jack Williams looked good as a young developing Forward who had the height to also be a 2nd ruckman. Interesting to see whether we do invest in another young key forward. I’m still looking for pace and run and the best midfielder in pick 17 slot. But like JVR, Williams presents a good option for JT ⭐️ to consider.

Sensational year. First half especially was very good. Composure Skill Toughness Hits targets ALL AUSTRALIAN SQUAD His finals campaign was excellent. His Grand Final was awesome. In the first half, he was our best player. Clearly a key part of the team. Simply his best year and so hope it’s recognized in B&F. I think Demonlanders had him 3rd behind Trac and Clarry. PS. Agree. I think 2022 will be key for Oscar. Last chance saloon. He has to improve his foot skills. Ok for distance but accuracy sometimes lets him down. Pace is good and I love his ability to back himself and run. Hoping VFL gets back next season and Oscar can show his talents. He is a current fringe player behind Langdon and Brayshaw.

Noel McMahen. 94yo. 95 at end of October. My late father said he was one of the toughest blokes on the team but a true leader. Played in 48, 55&56 premiership teams. Captained 1955-56. MFC team of the century half back. Life member. Never got to coach us unfortunately. Probably would have been a successor to Norm Smith I remember Noel from the Redlegs function that I was invited to in the 1990s. He loved the Dees. So passionate. So vocal. Sometimes had to be “advised” to calm down given he was about 70 at the time. One of our greatest players.

Can we acknowledge in his bio 2021 All Australian Full Back Had a fantastic year. Great guy. A leader. One of the most humble guys you’d meet. Loves the footy club. Bloody champion.

I think Chandler got 2 years which may not have been offered or extended by the crows. Chandler was so close to a game but Kozzy and Spargo kept on performing 😁😁 whilst the other 6 players got (I think) one-year deals which is fair enough as depth/fringe/developing squad members. One year deals on lower $$$ helps balance the list and not cripple our salary cap.
