I hear it’s likely to be 37 + 3 rookies. That’s a reduction from 44-46 for most clubs do I think to see 10 blokes delisted is perhaps to be expected.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
spirit of norm smith replied to Tinks's topic in Melbourne Demons
I can only imagine how gutted, disappointed and angry that Pert, Goodwin and Burgo must be. We gave him his final chance. He has responsibilities. His family. His future. Where else do you earn such $$$ and be do well looked after. Footy is a privilege and his talent might be wasted. It’s been a tough year but the rules are there to protect everyone. It’s very sad. Big call by the club now. I think he’s probably lost his chance. I’ll back the clubs decision either way. -
Great work and support every word. Further retrospectives- POSITIVE - Rivers, Jackson and Pickett (in that order) showed us their potential and hopefully will have a good preseason to start 2021 in good shape. All three are 10 year players. Jacko and Kozzy need smarter footy IQ but that will come. POSITIVES - wins versus better teams like Pies, Saints, Giants and should have beaten Cats and Lions. We have huge improvements to make and need to really switch on and match intensity for 100% to match Tigers, Eagles and Power. NEGATIVE - Jonesy not making it to 300. I know the year was fu&&$)d but I thought it would be his final year and he get 14 games to get to 300. Now he wants to go on and the club may decide otherwise. It could end badly. NEGATIVE - AFL draw. Hardly even and Dees got shafted with the excess travel much more than others like Saints and Bulldogs. In the end, it was a difference imo. ... and finally a positive and a negative. Harley Bennell. ???????

I agree Hannan is still surviving on 2018 and his goal in the finals. Very frustrating player who has the tools to be a very good half forward. I understand he’s on the fringe as stated.

At least for now. Not touching any rejects from kangas or Bombers.

Delist Dunkley, OMac?, Cwagner, JWagner, Joel Smith ?, Bradtke, Chandler, and ... unfortunately Bennell ?? Retire - Jetta?, Kk ? thats 10 off the list (down to 35) who is in the fringes ??? 1. I’m feeling compassion and I know I might be ridiculed but I’m giving Jonesy one more year. 2. Hannan and Spargo are just hanging on ... just 3. Bedford and Jordan are just hanging in for their development 4. Hunt and Baker saved themselves in the last 2 games and at least they’ve got pace which we lack trade discussion - Preuss (Giants?) Neal-Bullen (Crows?) Tmac (anyone who is interested). I reckon ideally at least two trades here (brings list down to 33) probably will entertain a discussion about Sparrow but would love to keep him (Crows would need to give us their 2nd round pick circa pick 19). List to rookie list - Nietschke (as promised ) I think the AFL will cut lists to 40 (37 plus 3 rookies)

Oscar McDonald - turnovers and fumbles. Poor kick. Slow. Pushed aside. Goes to ground too easily. Played one good game v Hawks and six shockers. Hore - missed 2020 through injury. In 2019 he was leading intercept mark and above average for metres gained for defender. Kicked goal v Suns that setup the win. Missed him in 2020 and he’d be definitely back if burgo gets him up.

Exactly. Very sad. Very disappointing. But terribly stupid and the ultimate penalty could be more severe. He is likely to be delisted as we cannot tolerate this behavior no matter how remorseful he is. -
Exactly. And if Mckenna doesn’t get a (false) positive covid test !!! This season has so many if moments. We travelled more than any other team and had no bye. It’s usually a biased season and this one was more biased than most.

It’s ridiculous. Dogs flick pass also has to be picked up more

Anyone watch the Hawks today. Gunston 4.2 goals. 18 disposals. 11 marks. Hawks best imo. His ability to create an option and mark cleanly is much better than any Dees forward right now. By a mile. He would make us a much much more dangerous team.

Trent Rivers Rising Star?
spirit of norm smith replied to Sydney Pennski's topic in Melbourne Demons
What about his tackle in the last 2 minutes. Stop another bombers centre clearances and spilled footy went to Melksham to Fritsch to kick the relieving goal. -
Will Petracca Feel Brownlow Love?
spirit of norm smith replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Probably 3 votes again last night. Should have 24-25 votes. Wow indeed. In 17 rounds. I see him as a clear winner from Boak, Steele, Danger & Trac. -
Will Petracca Feel Brownlow Love?
spirit of norm smith replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Possibly a vote yesterday v bombers. Strangely the bombers getting close might rob him of the vote as the umps might go with Langdon or Gawn and put Shiel in the voting. I actually think Trac has struggled over the last 5 weeks not in form but in fitness. I think he might have a slight injury that is being managed by goody and burgo. He had been put forward for a large section of games (like the Saints game) and whilst he has been good, he hadn’t been in the engine room as much as earlier in the year. -

Agree. He showed positive signs. The worry was him getting injured with a reoccurring injury but he got through and managed by Burgo. Sign him up for 2021. -
Inappropriate Touching
spirit of norm smith replied to Deemented Are Go!'s topic in Melbourne Demons
absolutely DD36 I can imagine the club officials and the coach raising the behavior issues with the players and the Tigers players stupidity would have been highlighted. It’s inappropriate but more so it’s just stupidity. -
Trent Rivers Rising Star?

He was good again. I think he’s group of games warrants the rising star award this week ! ??? -

My 3 word player analysis V Essendon
spirit of norm smith replied to joeboy's topic in Melbourne Demons
Rated players as above Weid was the biggest disappointment today. Jogged and tossed it in for many contests. Was soft today. Smith and Spargo should pack their bags. Ridiculously poor -
Better and better. In my votes today. He was composed and confident. Marked the ball and good in the contest. Needs to deliver more of this every week

Time to have a talk about Jayden
spirit of norm smith replied to Diamond_Jim's topic in Melbourne Demons
Despite Goodwin trying to kill his career, Hunt showed today his talent and ability to kick goals. But what was more impressive was his pace and at the contest. Great game and we must keep Jayden Hunt.- 225 replies

Demonland Player of the Year - Rd 18
spirit of norm smith replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6 Langdon - run run run all day 5 Brown - provided a target and worked hard to provide a contest. Cannot believe we left him out for so many games 4 Lever- spolied and marked anything that went his way. Often on Tipungwati which was a coaching mistake but he was able to defend all day 3 Salem - composed and creative 2 Hunt- was the difference. His goalkicking was crucial and impressive 1 Petracca - clearly not 100%. Spent big part forward in the 2nd half. But his 2nd quarter lifted us and linked and contested to a high standard apologies - Maxy, Fritters & May -
Demonland Player of the Year - Rd 18

To all those who have supported Spargo, today he was an absolute spud. I was at the game and he ran in circles. Completely lost. -
GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs Essendon

Delist Spargo, Smith, Neal-Bullen. Dumb and lack intensity.
