  1. “Under this move, clubs with top-five selections at the draft which are pushed back at least one position would be awarded an end-of-first-round pick as compensation for losing their primary draft spot”. If you’re pick 5, and get pushed back to pick 7, then you get an extra compensation pick. So if you are pick 6, and get pushed back to pick 10, then it’s tough luck. AFL rules continue to be made up on the run. How about allocating the points differential and locate that pick equivalent. AI could work that out in nano-seconds.
  2. Thanks @Demonland Yes agree Gawn had another excellent game and obviously King & Longmuir agreed too. Bolton was their best and he destroyed us. He must have had a virus because no Demon went near him all night Interesting that Nick thought only Butts was worthy of votes in his Crows game. They lost by a goal, to an amazing Oskar Baker 💙❤️goal.
  3. Dogs are a powerful unit and had nearly a full strength team (squad only missing Weightman & Vandermeer). And at home are always very tough. Forwards. Casey really missed “the talls”. AJ, Jeffo & Kentfield (not sure also why young Ah-mu wasnt playing , assume also injured). The lack of a quality tall target inside 50 was noticeable. Bowden & Pipicelli are new to the level and were competing but not threatening. Goals were created often through smart play or running opportunities. Cross, Matthews and Craven crafted goals but often the dogs repelled our attack with intercept marks. Tall defence was an issue. Adams can negate but he seemingly didn’t spend much time in the gym over summer. There is a big doubt that he’ll be an answer as an AFL key defender. With May retiring and Tmcd on his final year, hard to see why they didn’t bring in a key defender as the SSP signing. Of course the ridiculous fixture had us playing this week (when MFC goes to Perth) and a bye week 2 when MFC play Carlton in Melbourne. Tmcd as a travelling emergency would have been a big presence for Casey, either back or forward. So he might have to wait until April to get a game now. Midfield. Also the Dees and Casey have recruited in a lot of half forwards and “flamkers”. Laurie was the only experienced midfielder in the team with Onley very raw (and building after last years injury) and D’Angelo a young suburban player coming up. Stanley is more of a wingman (he looked good in patches and will be an asset). Lual Is also an outside type who was a little disappointing given his AFL experience . Henderson battled on but again back after an injury so will get better. Cheffers looked good with the footy and is one youngster to keep an eye on. Our standouts were clearly Bonner, ANW and Heath. Bonner won the footy and ran hard to create and overlap. His left foot is still AFL quality. AMW return was excellent. He’s super competitive. He hit targets. Another few games and he’ll be promoted. Heath is strong and despite being grabbed and pulled by his opponent, he won the ruck dual (no help from the umps). It’s tempting to have him v blues to support Max (and keep Petty & JVR away from 2nd ruck duties) Box Hill Hawks in a fortnight. Another very tough assignment coming up.
  4. He’s the one to definitely target.
  5. Poor management by the Suns medical team Suns coaches will visit Trac every day and call him every hour to make sure he feels special & loved whilst he’s not playing I like Trac but hey … he’s ditched us!!!
  6. @binman Please discuss. Is Trent Rivers a midfielder? He will develop more with more time. However not sure he’s that natural midfielder type. he missed a few crucial tackles to lock the ball in and allowed Freo mids to get disposals away. He was such an excellent half back , as a competitor, good mark and tough running rebounder.
  7. ANW and Bonner were clearly our best two players. Heath also had an impact , although was dragged and pulled at every ruck contest with the umps ignoring it and letting the Dogs ruck interfere in must contests. XT was okay and you could see signs of his future role as a steady half back. Berry was quite good. Could see him competing hard and trying to create run Tommy Matthews energy and goal sense will be an asset in his future. You could see a Papley like player in his future.
  8. 🦅Eagles energy is good. Like the aggressive running. 🤡Reid during Harley Reid things, Flattening opponents after disposals. Mouthing off Celebrating goals that were clearly touched ⭐️Willem Duursma is a genuine star of the future. If only we had an “academy” zone !!
  9. Kozzzy in the votes?? He was exciting for his goal but … overall he fumbled and twice missed targets inside 50. His missed bump instead of tackle was again not what we want to see. He wasn’t our worst performer, but not close to our best. His defensive run back was also lacking. He nearly got Dudley but that too late and not repeated enough
  10. You watched the game. Anyone giving Chin some votes must have watched the last qtr only. He had to do something to keep his spot.
  11. Demonlanders How does Steven King talk to Kozzzy about becoming elite? He was exciting for his goal v Freo but … overall he fumbled and twice missed targets inside 50. His missed bump instead of tackle was again not what we want to see. He wasn’t our worst performer, but not close to our best. His defensive run back was also lacking from what I saw. His best chase down on Dudley was an exception. He’s still young and I’m sure Kingy will work on it. However a big $$ contract means we want more than just a one moment of magic!!
  12. The Kings Speech @demonland Very disappointing game. Gave up a 42 point head start Fundamentals not on point Points against on Turnover were telling letdown Inefficient going inside 50 , especially in the 3rd Didn’t use the footy with composure going inside 50 At least we did not capitulate . Fought it out. Steep leaning curve for many. Didn’t deal with the pressure. Couldn’t handle the pressure. Prepared well but playing system not embedded yet Kolt did a good job on Serong Method around the ball allowed Brayshaw to get the footy They worked us over in contest to contest CJ and Howes battled on but missed Disco. (Turner hand injury) Monitor Max Gawn physically week on week and see if we use the double ruck situation. Heath one of our best at Casey so consider things going forward.
  13. @Demonland this week it was a clear 6 best players for me 6 Gawn - 100% effort Battled two rucks He’s a warrior 5 Steele - fought hard & tackles hard - 7 inside 50s - 9 clearances- 8 tackles - 9 score involvements 4 Langdon - runs and runs and KICKED two goals - never gave up and used the corridor 3 Salem - composed and skilled - one grab footy and not overwhelmed when under pressure - only bloke to realise to stop Voss muscle show 2 Throlstrup - good job to restrict Serong all night (Serong goal was due to another missed tackle by Windsor) 1 Lever - last week he was so so poor. This week made steady decisions- locked up tackles - 9 intercept marks - 88% disposal efficiency Mention to Riv - ran hard but not sure he’s better in the midfield- missed some crucial tackles and fumbled twice that led to Freo goals .
  14. Dees seriously poor this week - crash landing !! X Turnovers turnovers turnovers X Poor skills - Poor decisions X Second to the footy X Bombing it inside 50 - allowing Freo to intercept X Losing clearances X JVR parachute hands again X Missed tackles - Gotta lock it in X lazy disposals Kozzy Jiath Riv 👍🏻Use the footy through the corridor. We used it a few times and got scores 👍🏻Max is a warrior. 100% effort every week. Need MAX HEATH in !! Can’t have Gawn wrecked. Can’t have JVR thrown into the ruck. Need ANW in !! Small defender. Dudley could have kicked 6 !! Bolton brought his own footy
  15. @binman @george_on_the_outer Dees seriously poor this week - crash landing !! 16. Votes 6- Heath 5- ANW 4- Bonner 3- Stanley 2- Mentha 1- Berry
  17. Good call. They look exhausted in the second match !! Skills also shaky. Not sure what happened over summer !!!
  18. 3rd Kings notes … Rivers fumbles turnover Freo goal Jiath terrible handball turnover Freo goal Windsor kick 20 meters miss target - turnover Freo. Voss miss (lucky) Sparrow inside 50 kicks to … kozzzy!! Wtf Bolton. Dees let him run and run into z50 (at him !!) Jiath had to close quicker. Freo goal. Dees running forward. Kozzzy little handball to Langford - behind him !! Loose. Very loose. Steele. Inside 50 kick. Just a bomb !! Not to any advantage Freo kick inside 50 to space. Freo goal. Chandler kick inside 50. Straight to Ryan. 👍🏻pressure inside 50. Score through contest. Sparrow good finish. 👏Gawn intercept mark. Courage. ?? Chandler. Rivers. Want the footy ??? Serong. Windsor terrible poor tackle. Freo goal. Latrelle!! Running in 25 metres out. Finish omg - kicks 15 metre to Freo. Turnover. Missed tackle. Missed tackle. Dudley goal. Kozzzy. Not tackle. Goes to bump. Hits Salem. Not smart at all !! Inside 50s Freo 12. Score 7.2 dees 14. Score 1.2 Bombing !! You know the method. Dumb footy. Turnovers and missed tackles and dumb footy.
  19. Trac injured Oliver was average. Handballs to no one once again on show
  20. It was a shocker Clear … kick it Handball to nowhere
  21. Rivers turnover 🤬 Rivers fumbles turnover 🤬 Freo goal 🤬
  22. Completely agree DD36 I think AMW and Heath will likely get promoted soon. Also liked the energy of Tommy Matthews and his goal smarts.
