STOP WALSH - Harmes STOP MCKAY - May STOP Docherty and Saad and Williams distribution and run out of defence (ANB, Spargo, Chandler need to get the tackling pill) STOP BETTS - Hibberd Cripps is a danger still. Curnow gets to Oliver. We need to protect Clarry. Plenty of other keys for us. Salem is having a ripping year. They might try to reverse-tag him across half back. Kozzzy. Expect him to bag a few goals today. Trac and Langers to be the keys to forward 50 entries. Weid. Tmcd. Brown. Let’s see how the triple threat works.

I think we are loaded up on salary cap. Unlikely to offer $$$ required for some of the higher ranked free agents. Probably Kangas and Bombers in the $$$ market with free agents. Merrett likely to stay at Essendrugs.

AFL Mid Season Draft 2021
spirit of norm smith replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was ok with Smith as a free agent target. Then when he chose the Cats, he was “dead to me “. Moved onto Phillips. Watching the power v dogs tonight, I reckon we still need more pace through the midfield. Another runner and good distributor type. Highly skilled. Not sure they’re available in mid year draft but that’s the target. Ah yes, our other mid year choice could be a tall defender as backup. -
Agree. He has shown enough at Casey for his chance. Jake might have had a tough week with the newborn coming home. Might be a chance for him to get 2 hours sleep on the bench. ??

That’s amazing. Chandler deserves a run. This is his chance.

Chandler as the MFC sub again.

AFL Mid Season Draft 2021
spirit of norm smith replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think more pace and run is needed, especially to combat the power and Bulldogs. If we could recruit a clone of Ed Langdon but who is a left footer. From watching the Cats last night, Isaac Smith would have been perfect addition (still p/off he chose the Cats). -
What they're saying down at Royal Parade
spirit of norm smith replied to JTR's topic in Melbourne Demons
Peter “Johnno” Johnson mad bluebagger has put $100 on the blues. Reckons the upset is on and put his cash in. Still arrogant even after their crap run over the past few years. Let’s rub it in their snug faces. Go Dees -
Unlikely that our sub would play in VFL
-
Casey missing too many listed Dees players. Real test for the standard Casey players. Expected a 7 mfc 15 casey combo this week. Cats also have advantage of not resting their sub player as they have Friday night game. At Casey, Demons are a chance but it will be tight.

Nathan Jones (hamstring) - 2 weeks injuries starting to mount up. That’s 9 unavailable from the total squad of 40.

AFL Mid Season Draft 2021

I wonder if Frank Anderson might finally get a call up. Whether it’s at the Dees or elsewhere, he has shown in the WAFL that he has the quality to step up. -
Tough game without the Weid and Brown. Suddenly the firepower is probably Daw as the main target. It’s unlikely that Jones will line up. Though given the Swans “bye” last week, he might try to keep match fit and play a half.
-
Yes some very arrogant blues supporters at work today and they reckon Dees are due for a flat week and it’s a likely Blues upset. I did agree it’s a DANGER GAME and Dees losing Tomlinson, Viney and Jackson does weaken the team.

AFL Mid Season Draft 2021

Agree. We need to drive hard for the premiership. We have the chance this year. We must believe we can win it. I think the mid year draft could be a “cover all bases” approach and find 1st a pacy wing type midfielder and perhaps … 2nd a taller defender. I think we have coverage across forwards tall and small, Ruck, inside mids and small defenders coverage. -
He was a shocker for the whole 4 quarters

I nearly spat out my coffee. Kangas played finals in 2015 and 2016 and finished 9th in 2018. FFS. Dees underperformed for years with a few wins scrapped together plus had to absorb the Suns and Giants introductions sucking in 9 of the top 15 picks across 2010 and 2011. Let the Kangas draft and trade their way out of the dungeon imv.

May charged and fined for striking Buddy?
spirit of norm smith replied to McQueen's topic in Melbourne Demons
Go for it. The May fine is a (censored due to extreme abusive foul language and words not even in the urban dictionary) and the MRC should be (censored due to extreme abusive language ) ? -
No changes Stop McKay. May ✅ Stop Cripps/Walsh. Trac oliver harmes ✅ (Jordon might tag Walsh) Stop Betts Hibberd gets the job ✅ The worries Stop the half backs Docherty, Williams and Saad rebound Melksham , Spargo, ANB, have to be on their game this week Curnow will tag Oliver. Need to give him support.
