Love this post. So many supporters outraged by this non rule. It’s designed to help the umps BUT actually leads to more frustration and confusion. Tom McDonald complained about the Giants knocking the ball out of bounds. Free kick to Giants for arguing. Lever disappointed the Hill slipped into his arm and gets a 50 for showing disappointment. Himmelberg complains that he reckoned he touched the ball when Petty marked it. Nothing. Himmelberg complains when he tackles Hunt and it’s a ball up. Nothing. What’s the rule ?? And the “stand” rule for players on the mark. It’s completely inconsistent. Some umpires take 3-4 seconds after the player has played on, leaving the player on the mark helpless like they’re in concrete boots.

Nervous week ahead Werridee. BBB could replace either Weid or Tmcd. Tmcd stays in probably on sentiment as he and Weid were probably about even on the night. Toss of the coin but Weid might miss out. Goody showed with Tomlinson that despite form, he wants his best premiership 22 back in formation.

I think umpire 34 had another shocker. She umpired at Dees v Suns and was so biased against the Dees , not only giving wrong decisions and inconsistent decisions all night. Lucky the players can’t complain. I support the diversity but need to call out the poor sub standard umpiring.

Sorry Balls but I was at the game and could not see Tmcd in our best 6 players or indeed the best 18 Dees on the night. Team effort all night yet to be honest Tmcd was poor in the first half (1 kick, 1 handball) and lifted to have some impact in the 2nd half. Still could hold his spot with a toss of the coin between Weid and Tmcd if Goody sees BBB back in.

I agree Laurie was played in the midfield for Casey on the weekend but I can’t see him within the current rotation. Rotated forward and did 1-2 clever moves including a nice goal that indicate he is a more natural half forward imv.

Amazingly close count. Daisy is a star ⭐️ Lauren Pearce had a great year as did Tayla Harris. I think Hanks was solid yet can keep on improving. Paxman, Birch and Mithen tied on 47, equal 5th and all three could have easily been higher up in the count. I think Birch was my player of the year. Premier defender in the game (Steven May like) and was rewarded with All Australian honour. Big 23 awaits. Go Dees

Howes ✅JVR ✅ Woey jnr ✅ all looked good and should develop this year at Casey. Howes might even be considered later in the year perhaps for a senior run. Moniz-Wakefield was involved in the contest, cracked in and kicked a beautiful goal from the 50. One to work with imv. Bailey Laurie was ok but seems to be pencilled in as a small forward. Smart and creative type. Will aim to keep fit in 2022, and develop. Most promising game from Rosman. Still only in his 2nd year but held down key position in defence alongside Petty. Got the athletic ability, just needs to develop his footy skills and decisions. We have time to let him develop over the 22 and 23 seasons then assess.

Seriously / Mitch Brown hit and nothing reported. BenBrown niggled all night and gets two weeks. This week Weid and Tmcd get a reprieve. They need to STAND UP this week v Giants.

Bedford and Chandler certainly are on the edge of selection. Spargo is ok and gives enough but his spot is still one that Bedford or Chandler could grab in my opinion. Laurie is in a development year. I agree he is more half forward than midfielder. We have plenty of small forwards so he’ll need to find some more tricks or pace to get an opportunity.

Spargo has twice in last 2 weeks been within 30 metres with open space and tried to pass to a player in the goalsquare 🤦🏻‍♂️ 3 words - kick the goal !!!
