Stuff drafting a kid, poach a key forward.
It’s JVR and Petty (hopefully fit) for Round 1 2024 and the club will invest in Jefferson’s development. Given Schache scratches out another contract for a year shows how the club is desperate in KPF requirement. I think Tmcd and BBB are probably finished but have contracts so it’s a wait and see.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
That would be good. Ridiculous if the supposed NGA process is manipulated to gift Sanders to the Roos. Sanders reminds me of Sam Walsh in his draft year. Whilst Sanders and Mckercher are a long term risk due to being from Tassie, they are both high quality Mids that have class and are the elite type Mids we desperately need. Both would be ready to debut within the 1st half of 2024 imv. Either would be great with pick 5/6.

2024 Opening Round Team
I’ll wait until late November post all the trade and draft process is fully completed.

Farewell James Jordon
MELBOURNE premiership player James Jordon has informed the Demons he will be exploring his free agency options. Melbourne has been keen to retain him but he is set to look at the opportunities for more cemented roles having been either the starting or finishing substitute in eight of his 18 games this year. The hard-running wingman has played 65 games for the Demons, including 25 in their premiership campaign two years ago when he was the medical substitute for their three finals, including the Grand Final win over the Western Bulldogs.

Dunstan calls it a day
Just not to be. Thanks and best wishes. Whilst he didn’t get chances at MFC, he was key in Casey 22 success.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Depends on Dees appetite to accumulate picks and points this year to trade up.

Farewell James Jordon
Sub, sub, sub , dropped , in, sub 25 minutes , in, dropped … rinse and repeat Of course he should have got minutes at the end of the 21 GF.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
@DeeSpencer@ChaserJ Charlie Edwards had another good game in preliminary final. Looks like he’d fit into the Dees midfield like a glove. He might be the Demonlanders one to watch in this years draft.

CHANGES 2023 by The Oracle
Darkness before the Dawn Players need to stop drinking their own bath water and get the eye of the tiger approach again. I feel like some in the team climbed the mountain and then started the descent.

Hot Future Forwards
I’m chips in for JVR Jefferson is a wait and see imv. Some good signs but not enough. Too early. He’s better than Lucas Cook but might trend into a Weideman type (bloke you wish your daughter marries but wouldn’t crash through a pack to grab the footy at all costs).

Farewell James Jordon
Toby Bedford 2022 James Jordon 2023 If you drop them in a flash or play them as a sub over and over and over again, eventually they say enough and leave. Dees cannot say they wanted to retain him after treating him poorly. Another player Goodwin just didn’t favour at all. Good luck to him.

Elite decision makers
Elite ball users. Mckercher Sanders Wilson. There’s 3 in the top 10 available draftees. Hopefully Sanders is available.

Jack Riewoldt and Tom Hawkins
Hawkins will not leave the cattery ever Riewoldt has a new role with the Tasmania franchise I agree with the consideration of a new voice on or off field. A true forward who knows the craft. I would think Stafford should likely be in a new role next year either at the Dees or elsewhere.

Coates Talent League 2023
Charlie Edwards and Ryley Sanders again starred for Sandringham. Two to definitely watch on Grand Final day. Can’t believe AFL will even consider Sanders as a NGA gift to Kangas. Rules change like the winds in AFL house.

Farewell Deakyn Smith
He was good in patches and like his delivery. Was borderline to stay on and it’s a tough call in the youngster. He should try to stay in the system and might get another crack.
