  1. I think he was definitely on the outside looking in. Seemed Goodwin didn’t rate him. He was too good for VFL and showed ability as key defender role. Unfortunately he would be dropped quickly where we had a loss despite his form. He should look elsewhere. Suggest Kangas would be his best option. Good luck and thanks Tommo
  2. 1- Tigers. O’Sullivan or Smith 2- Kangas. Trainor 3- Eagles. O’Sullivan or Smith 4- Crows. Draper 5- Dees. Langford 👍🏻
  3. Rising player agent switches to rival management group There's been some movement among two of the the game's biggest player management stables By Callum Twomey Apr 30, 2024 RISING player agent Julian Petracca has jumped management stables, quitting Hemisphere Management Group to join Connors Sports Management. Petracca is understood to have this week resigned from Hemisphere Management, where he worked alongside Alex McDonald, Dave Trotter, Tom Seccull and Annabel Burge, to join Connors Sports with Paul Connors, Robbie D'Orazio and Nick Gieschen. The competitors are two of the biggest player management companies in the game, with the likes of Patrick Dangerfield, Nick Daicos, Bailey Smith, Charlie Curnow and Harley Reid with Connors Sports, and Jeremy Cameron, Scott Pendlebury, Harry McKay, Caleb Serong and Hugh McCluggage in Hemisphere's stable. The older brother of Melbourne superstar Christian, who is managed by Connors Sports, Petracca is considered one of the emerging managers in the game and has built a strong group of young talents. Greater Western Sydney's No.1 pick Aaron Cadman and defender Connor Idun, Gold Coast's Mac Andrew and Melbourne's Blake Howes are among the players that he has managed in recent seasons.
  4. @dazzledavey36 thanks. Leigh Matthews makes good sense. But we don’t know all the issues and like ourselves, it’s a view from the outside.

  6. **A Heartfelt Request to Reconsider**❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💙💙💙💙💙 🧙‍♂️Ray Taylor in the socials Hi Christian, I hope this message finds you well. As a passionate supporter of the Melbourne Football Club, I have been truly inspired by your incredible talent, leadership, and dedication to the team over the years. You have been a vital part of our journey, and it's hard to imagine the club without you. I recently heard about your indication to leave the MFC, and I wanted to reach out personally to ask if you might reconsider this decision. You have made such a significant impact here, both on and off the field, and it feels like there is still so much more that we can achieve together. I understand that decisions like these are incredibly personal and can be influenced by many factors. If there’s anything the club or we, as fans, can do to support you and help change your mind, please let us know. The next six weeks are crucial, and we would be so grateful for any chance to continue seeing you in the red and blue. Thank you for taking the time to read this. No matter what you decide, you will always have the unwavering support of myself and the entire MFC community. Wishing you all the best. Ray we are all Ray
  7. The suggestion is that these are the reasons as to why he wants to leave - clubs poor dealing with the Oliver situation - clubs dealing with his injury on kings birthday against Collingwood - wants to play in front of big crowds - clubs performance since winning the flag in 2021, two straight sets exits and not making the 8 this year - moving to a big Victorian club will enhance his Petracca brand image, he makes alot of money with his social media and playing for a big club will endorse this further. - he doesn’t like the hour drive to Casey. Sounds like Trac is all about Trac if you believe these reports. We have all loved Trac 💙❤️since he walked through the doors option 1 if he wants out and it’s toxic ( as reported) then Dees must trade him.💔💔💔💔 Sad. Horrible. Ugly. Grief. But we’d all move on. There is no point hanging onto a disgruntled player. Get some value and show that the club is bigger than the individual. option 2 Like Garry Lyon "On The Couch" said "I'm doubling down and stating that the Melbourne Football Club will not be trading Christian Petracca so it's up to Christian to walk back into the club and be a leader." Goodwin and Pert has repeatedly said he will be in red and blue next year. Hes contracted for 5 more years. That’s a commitment. You don’t just walk away from $1million a year out of spite. Dees didn’t cause his injury or his post surgery issues. They gave him time. They let him go to Noosa and develop more brand Petracca content. Whatever the issues, the media is loving the click bait. They love love love the drama. Like vultures circling. The silence is the killer. No update from the club or indeed from Trac. It lets the media control the story. Dees leaders say we have a great culture. No issues. But all the words cannot override the js29 issue, the oliver issue and the Petracca issue. A review is needed.
  8. Yes yes yes. Spot on. Lack of vision is clear. Need to get Caulfield training base happening and permits etc asap.
  9. They weren’t wanted by their clubs. They were all happy to be shown the door. Billings and Hunter were salary dump players who’d signed on for bigger $$$ then were playing 2nds footy. We took them in !! Strangely McAdam seems to be one player we actually chased and offered a 3year deal and crows got our 2024 2nd round pick. What a stinker of a deal.
  10. It's not about your brand. You play a team game." @kanecornes is worried that Christian Petracca wants to leave Melbourne for the wrong reasons.
  11. Tim Lamb surely should have been sacked. He had better have a good trade period He has brought in rejects Billings, Schache, Hunter, Fullarton and paid overs for McAdam 1. Don’t touch pick 5 2. get 25 and 42 off crows for ANB 3. no soft players any more !!!
  12. Barely news. Most obvious delisting in the clubs history.
  13. 15. 12 months ago … 31 August 2023 Kate Roffey has penned a letter to Melbourne Members ahead of AFLW Round 1 and the AFL Finals. Dear Members, What an incredibly exciting time for our club. Firstly, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you, our loyal and passionate members. On Monday, we officially cracked the 70,000 membership milestone – so congratulations – I would say Melbourne is now a BIG club! We should all feel an immense sense of pride to belong to the Melbourne Football Club. We are in fantastic shape, and it is your loyalty, spirit and unwavering support that has brought us to this point. Together, we are writing a new chapter in the rich history of our club, and I hope that every single one of you feels incredibly proud to belong to this fabulous club. Tonight, we will witness an historic occasion as we unveil our maiden AFLW premiership flag, having achieved the ultimate success in Season 7 of the AFL Women’s competition. This win in 2022, on the back of our AFL Men’s Premiership in 2021, makes Melbourne the first club in history since the AFLW competition started – to win both a men’s and a women’s flag. Tonight will mark another memorable moment in our club’s history and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible down at IKON Park. I know our AFLW playing group and coaches are incredibly grateful for all the support you have shown, and I encourage all our members and supporters to get behind our women in the red and blue, as they embark on a new season and look to defend our mantle as reigning premiers. For our AFL team, next week will mark a third consecutive AFL Finals appearance. Our aim at the start of the season was to finish in the top four and secure a double chance and the team has now done that three years in a row. Melbourne is the only club that has finished in the top four in each of the past three years and that is a significant achievement. It is a testament to the unwavering dedication and hard work of our players, coaches and staff, who continue to show extraordinary commitment to our club. I’m incredibly excited to join the Demon faithful at the MCG on Thursday night. I know our players want to see and hear our Demon faithful out in force, filling the stands with red and blue as we set ourselves for a challenging, yet exciting, AFL Finals campaign at the MCG. Off the back of their 2022 success, the Casey Demons also start their Premiership defence, securing a spot in the VFL Finals last week. This Saturday, they are set to take the field in a crucial Elimination Final against Footscray. The stakes are high for this game so get down to Box Hill Oval if you can and cheer on our Casey Demons. Off the field, as we prepare to cheer on our mighty teams, I also wanted to provide a Board update. I firstly want to express my gratitude and warmest thanks to both Steve Morris and Mohan Jesudason, who will finish as board directors at the end of the season in line with our recently introduced director term limits. Steve and Mohan have made significant contributions to the club as directors. Both have served as Club Vice President and as Chairs of Board Committees, with Steve chairing our Investment Committee and Mohan chairing the Nominations and Remuneration Committee. They have provided amazing support to the club and retire at the end of their final terms with our heartfelt thanks. I am also pleased to welcome Sarah Robinson and Geoff Porz to the Melbourne Football Club Board. Sarah and Geoff fill the casual vacancies created by Steve and Mohan and have skill sets in the areas of investment and facility development – both identified as critical to us going forward. Sarah Robinson brings to the Board extensive experience as a financial advisor and investment strategist and will be a critical member of our Investment Committee, which has responsibility for guiding our Future Fund investments. Sarah is ranked in the top 100 financial advisors in Australia. Sarah has been a passionate Demons member for over 20 years, and we are thrilled to welcome her. Many of you will be familiar with Geoff Porz, who has deep connections to the club as a 40+ year member, Foundation Legend and founding member of the Inner Sanctum. Geoff brings strong knowledge and experience in property, infrastructure and facility development, having developed assets in excess of $1.4 billion. The skills and experience that Sarah and Geoff add to the Board will strengthen capability in the management of our Future Fund and in progression of our planned Training and Administration facility, both key strategic pillars of our next phase of growth. I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the work of the staff and Executive team at the club. Under the leadership of our CEO Gary Pert, the club continues to excel off the field and the contribution our staff make, in particular outside of regular working hours on weekends and evenings, is the foundation for success. To every person who works or volunteers at our club – thank you! But for now, our focus shifts to tonight and the coming men’s finals series. A McClelland Trophy and more Premierships are up for grabs. Here's to an extremely exciting period ahead for our great club. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve over the next few months. To every single one of our 70,785 members – thank you for bleeding red and blue. Let’s Go Dees! Kate
  16. Tom Morris again putting it out that Petracca is not satisfied and has demanded to be traded. He wants out. “He is disgruntled, wants to break his contract, and play for a big rival club”. —/—/—-/-:::-:/::::::/:::::://———- this is the same Tom Morris who was SACKED by Fox Footy. Morris was sacked after audio of him making offensive comments about then Fox Sports colleague Megan Barnard was leaked to social media. A second clip featuring homophobic and racist slurs also emerged on social media before Morris was eventually sacked by Fox Footy in March 2022 Morris apologised for his comments at the time, describing them as “disgusting and disgraceful”.
  17. Langford definitely would fit in nicely to our midfield
  18. Petracca wasn’t asked about his playing future, where he has been linked with a move to Collingwood, the club he grew up barracking for, or Carlton. McKay has been linked with an exchange for Petracca, but McKay’s manager David Trotter of Hemisphere Management was emphatic that his client would not be leaving the Blues. McKay is contracted to the Blues until the end of 2030. “There is absolutely no way Harry would consider going to Melbourne,” Trotter told SEN.
  19. Is this how the decision making goes … best of five ?
  20. He was very raw. Delisting was inevitable.
  21. Presumably Kane didn’t have a 5 year contract left to run with channel 9 !!!
  22. He could kick 10 Goals a game in suburban footy. Had the talent. Dedication and desire seemed to be missing.
