I respect your opinion there, i think a quality partner for Hogan is certainly a priority, doesn't have to come from pick 3 or 7 though, i think Salem moves into the midfield next year so a good user off half back like young bonner might be handy, if Melksham doesn't make it i'm not sure what plan B is for that role.
-
I reckon it's less about the overall best player and more about that position, high half forward in my opinion is close to the toughest position to play on the ground, i felt Watts show some clear signs of improvement and had a really strong patch of games last year, sure his form dropped away but he played most of the games so he's clearly best 22. i'd just play him as our third forward and leave him there all year, i reckon he could prove very useful.
-
Personally i'd be taking Parish and whoever is left of Wielderman, Curnow or Francis at 7 but the idea of Wielderman at 3 and Collins at 7 is appealing the more i think about it. sets up a spine for the next 10 years of Collins Mcdonald Brayshaw Hogan Wielderman Looks pretty handy to me.
-
I would bet my left one GWS will not let this kid go anywhere else . they've invested quite alot in him.
-
God i hope we choose Parish.
-
also a strong chance to be there at pick 7... Parish is not.
-
I really hope we don't pass up Darcy Parish for Curnow, Parish is exactly what our midfield needs, and Curnow is a good chance to be there at 7 anyway.
-
I reckon for the first time it'll be a chance to really use his weapons.
-
His kicking really impresses me, he's got the skills of a quality half back but can play on power forwards.
-
I have been to a few of his games this year and his defensive work rate is fine, at TAC cup level it's quite raw, defensive work rate becomes alot more obvious when it is implemented into a structure and role within an AFL side, really at TAC cup level he just wants to stand out as much as possible, but he's more than capable of running both ways and doing those things.
-
Roos worked with him alot at the academy, and tried to convince him to come to us over the swans. i'd certainly grab him as a delisted free agent or in the draft,
-
Jesse Hogan will be having wet dreams over the prospect of Salem moving into the midfield and Parish joining us and those two blokes kicking the ball into him, He'll be unstoppable, he was dominant with some of the terrible entries he got last year.
-
He is quite good, he runs hard defensively, you'll often see him working back to defense and helping clear the ball, the only knock i have is some of the bigger bodies can slip his tackles from time to time, having said that a year or two in the gym and he's not going to have an issue there. kid is exactly what we need.
-
I reckon if we pass on parish we will regret it bigtime.
-
Dream job, delay everything, line their pockets in the process.
-
I'd certainly look at it. comes from Hawthorn. imo would be in our 22 great experience knows what it takes to win premierships costs nothing could still have 3-4 good years left.
-
I'm not against the idea at all, even Curnow is a bit of a risk, our team desperately needs that sort of speed and x factor
-
they could use that week for things like EJ whitten game, Brownlow, All Australian team, Rising star, get all the awards done
-
Why John Worsfold agreed to have anything to do with this mob i have no idea, the list is awful aside from Heppell and Hooker who may get banned, they need a total rebuild
-
One thing we've seem from this recruiting team is they haven't sprung surprises like that, i think we'll grab Parish at 3 and hope Curnow is at 7. we fought off the temptation to grab Lever early, imo Parish is to good to pass up at 3.

5 Years in the Future....How the 2015 Team might look?

If i thought i was going to be drafted by the Lions i'd start playing up to.
-
Anything to back that up? i've seen nothing to suggest he is anything other than the obvious choice.
-
I rate JKH, i think he's a link player, another solid pre season and i reckon he'll be fine.
-
He's the best player that's going to be there at pick 3, i'd say he's a lock pick 7 is much less so
