Didn't Luded get a holiday for a distasteful post not long back?

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Ted Lasso replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's amazing, Jesse is still performing better than just about any second year key forward in the modern era, in a poor-average team, won the rising star, 2 top 10 best and fairest finishes and absolutely no indication he's going anywhere beyond the fact that 12 months away from him coming out of contract he hasn't already signed an extension. -
If we offered Hunt up for trade, every single other cub would be into him, i reckon he's one of about 3 players on our list that would be the case for.
-
I still think he's the best forward/ruck we have

Maybe if we throw in our 2017 first round pick and Christian Petracca freo might give us Zac Dawson? -

it's Jack Watts fault we're now blaming Jesse Hogan. -

apparently was in Perth... -
We make so many changes that we never even wait long enough to see if they make the game better a lot of the time, it's a good game, it's good to watch, let the umpires have a couple of seasons of the rules being consistent and only make changes if a huge issue comes up.

I think as a club/list we're in a far better position to cope with life without Jesse if that eventuated, i don't think it will but our wins against Geelong and Hawthorn show that the talent on the list is good enough to cover the loss of probably any player outside Gawn -
Scott Thompson - Would we welcome him back?
Ted Lasso replied to The Backyard Charizard's topic in Melbourne Demons
I heard at work he's one that the Tigers were keen to interview for an assistant coaching role so perhaps Goody invited him for a chat as well -
Mitch Clark - did we dodge a bullet?

Happy to agree to disagree Stuie, for the sake of not derailing another thread have a good one. -

Which just happened to be taking the biggest contract offer on the other side of the country from where he told the Lions he was returning because of homesickness. i am not saying he's a bad person, just that those actions were always going to look bad from the outside, you just keep missing that point, How would you feel if Jesse Hogan requested a trade to Perth because he was homesick, and then signed with the Sydney Swans? -

you're a nuffy stuie, i haven't bashed him at all, just saying it isn't a great look from the outside, i reckon most would agree with that. -

Ted Lasso replied to thesleepinggiant's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am saying the Brisbane Lions obviously wouldn't have thought very highly of those actions, and when hiring a new employee the manner of which they leave previous employment can give you a fair indication into their character, from the outside, it doesn't look great. Homesickness is a very different thing to going in search of the biggest contract, -
Mitch Clark - did we dodge a bullet?
Ted Lasso replied to thesleepinggiant's topic in Melbourne Demons
But his reason that he gave the Lions when he told them he was leaving was homesickness and he wanted to return to his family, then took a bigger contract in Melbourne, i think his point stands to a point, -
I do agree that an older guy like this does take the spot and potentially hinder the development of one of our young guys, but i also feel leadership is a huge issue we have that needs to be addressed, if Goody is talking to these guys he clearly feels we're totally lacking in on field leadership, i suspect that'll be a big focus next year, trying to develop leadership so we don't drop games we should win

Who are the Dees chasing for 2017 and at what cost?
Ted Lasso replied to junk's topic in Melbourne Demons
Clearly Goody really wants to get the leadership side of things right, i suspect sorting that will go a long way to the side becoming consistent, i thought Dal Santo played some pretty solid footy this year and he's a beautiful user of the ball -

Apparently going to try his hand as a professional surfer with Harmsy -
well so far their reward for tanking is National draft pick 1. Pre Season draft pick 1 ( huge card in the O'meara chase.) the chance to expose young players without the concern of a win-loss ratio, special rules to ensure they can retain not on their primary list, but any top ups who impressed before opposition clubs can get a crack. in my opinion they should have been no part in the draft last year or this year, this is a club that was found guilty of cheating, and they've come out in a far better position than they went in.

He signed for some huge amount, i suspect if any club is to take Hamish the Power would still need to foot 50% of the bill, he's simply not worth the big dollars he's on based on current output, i think he has talent and could be worth that if he played at his absolute best consistently but it hasn't happened yet.
