  1. I find this baffling, how can you sack 5 assistant coaches but re-contract the senior coach? surely if anyone on the coaching panel is going to be accountable it's the Senior coach?
  2. The challenging thing with that is that the independant group wouldn't see the day to day growth of the players, i would suggest someone like Jayden Hunt would have been rated by an independant person the same was as Demonland rated him when clearly internally we knew we had our hands on a very good player. having said that i don't think the Tigers have that sort of talent or any capacity to develop it even if they did.
  3. Very good point, i saw some RIchmond stuff online so i just made the assumption
  4. I am assuming that was/is today? has anyone got any pictures or links or anything?
  5. There would have to be players wanting out as quick as possible, I see your point regarding the house visit, poor form all round, surely Leppa could have gone in to face the music if he knew it was coming
  6. and i reckon these sorts of calls would have been happening for a while, i reckon even if the decision to sack leppa wasn't 100% set in stone most clubs that are a little unsure where they're at would be seeing what's out there basically every year. For what it's worth i think David Noble or Simon Lloyd would be a good choice with a couple of really good development coaches.
  7. Carrying some niggles, i reckon after a break and a pre-season he should come back fit and firing, we can't afford to not have Vince so he is one of our few guys we'll play at 80%
  8. Only because he didn't go in to the club today, i reckon he knew it was xcoming.
  9. and we have the youngest and one of the most talented lists in the AFL, and some of the best development coaches in the AFL, it's foolish to think there isn't going to be significant growth from within regardless of who we bring in. I am super confident in our list for the first time in a bloody long time
  10. Dimma should be sacked but won't be. Not sure who the Lions are going to get but they need a bloody good coach. when does the "time to go Simon Goodwin" thread start?
  11. I reckon next year, if either Viney or Tyson can hold their best form for most of the year they'll get in there. both have played half seasons and that's probably going to be enough to get them top 10 B&F finishes for us.
  12. I think Vineys first half of the year was better than Tysons second half, which is the only reason i've gone that way with any luck next year they'll both be in that sort of form at the same time and we'll really be a dangerous side.
  13. I think these 5 have played their role the best and most consistently, Tom and Nathan have been a little more up and down and that might cost them
  14. Closest to the pin? i reckon... Enright Rance Mcgoven Shaw Tarrant Rampe Hannebry Dangerfield Shuey Rioli Franklin Martin Betts Kennedy(wce) Lynch(gc) Gawn Sloane Parker Selwood, Mitchell, Kennedy (syd) Bontempelli
  15. I don't hate this idea, Dawesy knows the game, he's a bloody smart guy, just not all that good a player, i reckon he'd be well worth a look as a development coach, though i suspect when he's done with footy he'll jump into his Law career pretty quickly
  16. We've had no consistency in our leadership group, i reckon it'll stay mostly the same over the next 4-5 years and should improve out of sight in that time.
  17. I think the reality with Steele is that he's not going to get a game there and that's why he's leaving so he might well be good at another club but i doubt the Giants are going to demand the world for him, i certainly wouldn't be giving up an established best 22 leader if i didn't have to. If the Suns wanted Armo and their first rounder to get O'meara over the line that's a different story.
  18. Geez the Saints get a bath in that deal. personally i think O'meara is going to the Saints, it'll be a trade for their 2016 first round pick and a player imo
  19. My god this thread is rubbish, he started the season as one of the best mids in the comp and he's tired and been tagged, he's very young, he'll learn and build his fitness like the rest of our side. i am 100% sure Jack Viney is of no concern to the coaching staff, he'll be a jet for the next 10 years, it'll be for the MFC and he'll be our next captain, he got touched up by Danger sure, but basically everyone who's come up against Danger this year has.
  20. The club is keen for Goodwin to have an experienced assistant to help out Goodwin, there was hope that Roosy would stick around in some capacity and help fill that role but now that's not an option we're looking at experienced quality assistant coaches to come in. I would think Sanderson would be a great choice but it sounds as though he's stitched up elsewhere, but with montgomery now out of the Doggies and some other guys around as well there will be a good option out there, I personally think Leigh Tudor would be a great get, he's been at multiple successful clubs and is extremely highly rated as an Assistant, i also wouldn't be against bringing in Cameron Bruce, bit of a Melbourne flavour who's been under Clarko for the last few years, multiple flags as an assistant coach, considered a strong candidate for taking the next step within Hawthorn but probably not quite in the next batch to be signed by clubs just yet so would get a solid 3-4 years out of him
  21. He only mentioned the Swans 658 times in his final post game speech for the MFC, amazing, there was a period there where people seriously doubted he could get it under 1000, he's come a long way, much like the club.
  22. I can't believe some of the critics, Jesse is a second year player, he's still miles ahead of any key forward i can remember in their second year in the modern history of the comp and he's definitely been down this year. Jesse will enjoy some time off, come back in shape, get his goal kicking sorted and i am backing him to kick 60 next year and get his contract sorted somewhere in between now and round 1, i reckon if he's going to request a trade he'll do it this off season.
  23. I'm not sure the development totally stops just because guys aren't playing, which there is no substitute for playing games no doubt he's been watching and learning and hopefully a full pre season and he'll be up and firign next year i definitely see the Hodge comparison, but i don't think he's a good enough defender to play back long term, regardless of how good his offensive weapons are, he loses his opponent quite regularly
  24. the only chance we'd have with the Salem/Garland offer is if noone bites and that's the best on the table, coz that's a much better return than letting him walk to the PSD, having said that he won't be coming to the Dees
