People make it sound so easy lol recruit a dangerfield type, explosive dominant goal kicking midfielder outside of Danger himself, Robbie Grey and maybe Jake Stringer there aren't many players around capable of doing what Danger can do.

Realistic Trade Week Results (Wish List)
Ted Lasso replied to GawnWithTheWind's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think Mackenzie, experienced key defender who has been an all australian centre half back in the last couple of years, we really lack for experience all over the ground but especially there, would take pressure off Tommy McDonald and i think he'd be a fantastic get for the club. I am not as keen on the older mid like Dal Santo if our 2017 first rounder could land Hartlett and Port cover some of the salary i'd be open to that as well -
I am really confident with how our midfield is building we have an elite inside mid group Jones, Viney, Tyson, Brayshaw, Oliver and some quality outside players coming on Hunt, Stretch, Vince Petracca Kent ect so really development is the key the beauty of our side is we have Max Gawn so we're going to win it out of the middle a lot of the time, especially as we improve, so it gives us the opportunity to play a clearance game and not need the speed quite as much as teams that might not have the same dominance out of the middle.

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Ted Lasso replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am pretty sure they would do the exit interviews of guys like Jesse right away, obviously he isn't going to play for Casey and his family is in Perth, so i reckon it's probably been done already or is in the next few days -
Exactly, but Hartlett is on about 800k a year, unless Port want to pay at least half that i wouldn't go anywhere near him.
-
Nooooooooooooooooooo..... Burgoyne was regarded as one of the best clearance players in the comp and a good clearance player back then despite being more inconsistant, Hartlett is very much an outside midfielder trying to play an inside role that doesn't suit him, i think Hamish is an icing on the cake type player and if Port were to pay half his wage and it wasn't a huge trade i wouldn't be against him, but he's not in the same class as Burgoyne, he needs a strong group of inside mids to feed the ball out to him and allow him to use his weapons

It's really dissapointing in my opinion that Jobe hasn't handed the Brownlow back, he's a leader of the club and supposed to be one of the best 18 leaders in the AFL players ranks, if he doesn't know what he took then he needs to set the example sorry jobe but not being 100% sure what you took = not being 100% sure that you didn't cheat = hand the medal back and give it to those who are sure they didn't

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here

It's no wonder Jesse has struggled in the back end of the year, all the pressure of the footy world, being out of form and struggling to kick set shots, his old man not being well on the other side of the country and not really being able to go and be with him. I can tell you this, if Jesse came out tomorrow and said i want to move to Perth, i would lose zero respect for him, i've been through that sort of thing myself, it's hell so Jesse should do what's best for him and i think the majority of Dees supporters while disappointing would get it completely. So long as it's the best thing for Jesse and the club gets well compensated via a trade, -

Probably a bit over the top now guys, might be worth deleting the last couple of pages mods? -
I reckon Mckenzie from the Eagles would be a good fit, not getting a game there and rumoured to be open to a move, was an All Australian a couple of years ago
-
I feel we've moved past these sorts of pick ups, if you compare list building to baking a cake, i feel we have most of the cake in place, we just need it to develop, we're now at the stage of looking for icing, or a better cake like Nat Fyfe

maybe we'll have to pay him 15 mil over 10 years in compo? -
Hartung would be handy, if he felt the Hawks were on the way down and we could offer a few extra $$$
-
That's definitely the tough part, our 2017 first round pick and a player would be the starting point, but we know what the Tigers decision making is like, might get a good deal hahaha
-
If Jack Rewoldt is looking at getting out of the Tigers ( I don't believe he is ) but if he is, he'd be a handy get Imagine defenders trying to contend with Hogan, Watts, Weideman, Rewoldt, Garlett, Petracca
-
It's a real shame, because he's a quality young player, did you have much to do with him at the Bushies Dazzle?

And there is no doubt the club and Jesse are aware of this, no doubt the conversations have already happened to see where he's at as far as extending, I suspect the future of Dawes might be tied to the outcome of that conversation. The club knows Jesse is our biggest trade asset, maybe Gawn is the only other one in the same conversation and if he leaves we simply have to get a good return on him, -
Bahahahahaha!!! he'll love Scotty Thompson if he ends up at the Dees!!

Slow day Saty? getting onto every single trade suggestion thread and rubbishing it isn't usually your style unless it involves one of our players?
-
McCarthey to Fremantle would just about fall into the certain side of things
-
Not sure a player in Miles position can really demand a trade, he's only getting a game there because they overrate their players something shocking. if a deal with Daniel Wells can't be reached with North Melbourne, would we consider him on a 1-2 year deal? he's very much a cherry on top player, injury prone but if he is fit and firing he clearly improves our side as well as brings experience
-
I've heard from a mate ( no idea of reliability ) that the Doggies might be interested in Lynden Dunn, they want to add an experienced key defender at the right price.
-
I suppose the thing is, can we really allow Grimes, Dawes, Dunn, Garland and Lumumba potentially to all leave at once and not find replacements when we already have leadership issues? can't retain underperforming or injury prone average players. at least three of the above will leave in my opinion and we are going to need at least 1 experienced player to come in, other than Hibberd

It's certainly an indication that he has everything it takes to be a star, i mean if he was more accurate this year we're talking about a 55-60 goal season potentially as a second year player, the hype is huge because his talent is huge, there is no doubt second year blues has got him a little, but he certainly doesn't deserve the critics he gets on here.
