  1. His best form yes, any less it'd be touch and go, and picking up a contract like he's on would be a bit of a risk.
  2. I wonder if this might prompt a change of tact, and result in Prestias offer being taken off the table and Pick 6 being used at the draft where it should be
  3. I suspect Harlett will go to the Giants who have plenty of picks and where he'd be an icing on the cake type and his weapons will become more dangerous
  4. Not sure the draft is all that strong this year, probably as good a year as any to not have a first round pick. reckon this kid will be alright though, not super impressed that he'll be at Essendon and not the Lions but that's a totally different conversation
  5. I agree, it will be very interesting to see where he ends up, i am guessing with no degree of confidence that it'll probably be the Saints scratch that: Stevo reckons it's down to 2, Essendon or Hawthorn.
  6. Gil is just digging himself holes all over the place mate, the fact Essendon have the number 1 draft pick is a joke, Brisbane Lions lose access to an absolute jet of a player because Essendon cheated.
  7. Absolutely mate, but they hold the #1 PSD pick and that's a huge card in this situation, the suns have plenty of picks and i suspect they'll be asking for established players
  8. I still reckon Essendon would grab him in the PSD and back themselves to get him right but god it's turned south on him if he's failed a medical
  9. Yeah, i guess it's one of those things that would be a case by case basis, i fully understand the angle of a huge long term contract for an injury prone player being hard to knock back, look at Mitch Clark, he got what 4-5 million dollars for about 20 games over a 6 year period
  10. I understand completely where you're coming from Rjay, but i guess the question is going to be, is that 1 mil worth giving up a chance at a flag or consistent finals? reckon Pav or Roo would trade 1 mil for a flag? it's just my opinion but if he went to Melbourne or Hawthorn he'd be playing in a finals side, and a genuine chance of playing in a premiership before he retires, that in itself would have to be a big carrot, and you could pretty confidently say Richmond are a little way off a flag.
  11. I guess that's the tough thing, a 23? year old getting offered huge dollars even though he is injury prone is hard to knock back, regardless of how he goes this contract sets him up for life, the down side is contracts don't mean much, look at Hamish Hartlett.
  12. I agree, but spitballing amounts, 500k is a pretty good salary in a team on the rise likely to play finals, or 750k to play through a re-build and a club in as bad a shape as RIchmond, imo they're every bit as bad as Brisbane in a lot of ways. if he wants to go there for money we're very lucky he's not coming to us haha
  13. If you were Dion Prestia how could you join this club? a senior coach with his career on a knifes edge, on the very edge of a 4-5 year re-build, star players looking at the door, total disunity on every level of the footy club, makes you wonder if he might go back to his manager and ask him to call clubs like Melbourne, Carlton, Hawthorn back and say a pay cut is worth not going anywhere near that joke of a club.
  14. we have plenty of this type and all of ours guys are better players than him, i hear Richmond are looking for more spuds?
  15. It does seem strange that the vice captains messaging would be the exact opposite of the clubs, as you say it's either disharmony or a sign the decisions already been made.
  16. My point though Rjay is a player like Spencer, i think would probably get more AFL opportunities elsewhere as a ruckman if he were to move, not many AFL quality ruckman will sign on to be backup if they have another option, and i think for Spencer to play more AFL footy for Melbourne that's what he'd need to do, be the forward/ruck, it would be extremely difficult for him, but i think that's the only way he gets a game without Max being injured.
  17. we have a few blokes who could improve their kicking but i reckon with more of a focus on his kicking and marking he'd give himself a really strong chance of playing more games in that role next year
  18. Jake should just train as a forward, he's a solid ruckman, but if he could clunk a mark and offer a bit up forward i reckon he would lock that position down as the 2nd forward/ruckman
  19. Casey would have to be a massive chance of taking out the VFL flag this year, the Pies look like their only real genuine challenger
  20. It's a prediction, they will ask for our 2017 first rounder, we will offer our second rounder, it on it's own won't get the deal done because it's Essendon and we'll cough up a little more coz Goodwin absolutely loves Hibberd It may not happen, and it's not what i'd do but it's what i think will happen.
  21. Predicting the trade to be #27, #45 for Michael Hibberd, #55 an early second rounder and a 10 pick upgrade should get it over the line.
  22. I always thought Neeld saw what the supporters saw, half assed efforts from the players and he thought a hard edge approach would teach them that if they don't take it seriously they were gone, he was in way over his head and i feel sorry for him, by all reports a great bloke.
  23. Gee wiz even the Geelong reserves get a good run with the Umpires, doing everything to make sure they get up against the druggies.
  24. Casey up? surely our class and depth will shine through over four quarters.
