  1. I don't buy the they didn't really try and retain him stuff, they definitely wanted to keep him but they had to pay massive overs for Hurley and Hooker to keep them (both are on Hogan level money ) and someone was always likely to be squeezed out, our offer to Hibberd made that an easy choice for them
  2. I have read somewhere that he is looking at buying a house in Melbourne, might be an investment but something anyway
  3. i'd prefer to hang onto Dunny as a bit of back up if he's only going to net a fourth round pick, open to offering him up with something else as a pick upgrade or something could we bundle Dunn and our third rounder for their second rounder?
  4. Surely pick 26 is more than enough to get this over the line? given his age, he's had a year out of the AFL system and all the other factors around this that's more than fair
  5. Surely if he's going to play on he'd sit in the forward pocket of a side like the Bulldogs or the Hawks who should be right up the pointy end.
  6. Apparently the Pies have offered Wells 3 years and Mayne 4 hahahahahaha
  7. His injury is pretty significant so no promises, I don't believe he would have been re-signed for another year if the club didn't believe there was a realistic chance he could be a consistent AFL level player.
  8. we put the kid through hell, making him captain way to early after some good early form and then he had an injury that most thought he'd never make it back from and he did, he's earned one more crack, a full pre season and then it's fair game, he either cements his spot or he leaves knowing he just wasn't quite good enough.
  9. Good clubs back themselves to retain good players, so the only way Jesse goes is if he tells the club that's what he wants, he won't be pushed.
  10. and if we play him at casey all year we can't expect anything of worth on the trade scene can we?
  11. I disagree, Jesse has a contract so he has the right to take his time making this decision, we can't and won't force him to do anything
  12. Kicking 3 goals in the last quarter of round 1 this year and getting us over the line against the now premiership favourites to me showed that he's a game breaker but i compare this attitude to the " my girlfriends not great anyways" when you think she's going to leave you
  13. Surely they could show more respect to his family matter than going on about it on every single TV show during a very difficult time for Jesse, If it were me i'd refuse to go to the WCE simply because they've shown so little respect in stirring this up at a really bad time for him.
  14. I wonder if we could bundle him up with Dawes or Garland and see if we can get a second round pick out of them.
  15. reminds me a bit of the Tommy McDonald situation, lots of talk in the media that he was off to the Swans and the club was consistently very confident he'd say and he did.
  16. Would Tim Smith be on our radar as well?
  17. I guess it depends on if they think Weid is read, they might give Dawes one more year to cover the loss while Weid builds an AFL ready body and tank
  18. I suspect Chris Dawes fate at the club will be very closely tied to what Jesse does or what the club thinks Jesse will do at the end of next year
  19. Hawthorn were a premiership side when they lost Buddy, we haven't even made the top 8 yet..
  20. well maybe, but if that's not a factor and we think as though he will stay he's still a better option than any of those three, so missing out on 1 to get Hogan is well worth it in my opinion.
  21. Sure, but then we wouldn't have had Jesse Hogan.
  22. Yup, i reckon your top three would be Stringer, Viney and Wines
  23. Amazing the difference some stability, a clear plan and a unified club working towards that plan can make, in my eyes it's no surprise that getting these things right is one of the most consistent themes with teams like Geelong, Hawthorn and Sydney. Peter Jackson and Glen Bartlett have been huge assets
  24. I'd say even higher, if Treloar is worth 2 first round picks, Hogan is worth that and a good young player imo
  25. Jesse will make the best decision for himself, if that's signing on long term and being part of a Demon Dynasty, awesome if it's heading home that's fine to although i'd prefer we bit the bullet now and got a trade done if he goes WCE: Jesse Hogan - Luke Shuey and pick 12 FRE: Jesse Hogan - Pick 3, (they can find another top 10 pick) and one of Weller, Blakely or Tucker
