  1. Another prerequisite is to hail the appointment of a new high draft pick / fatherson pick, coach, CEO, president etc as the saviour of our club and when they dont turn things around within 2 seasons we must blame them for our lack of success for the past 50 years. Also when a prospective coach or out of contract player hasnt yet resigned we must analyse and read into every word spoken in the media from the perspective of either a niave or jaded partner in an insecure relationship, never taking what is said at face value.
  2. I prefer Fitzgerald, he should change his name
  3. Could this mean they qualify for Tom Boyd and a potential PP?
  4. Fair call BB - with the money our club has wasted over the past 5 years it is hard to take this news, I think we all hope MC makes a full recovery. My objection to some of the posts has been treating Mitch as a financial asset and not part of team where he contributes to the teams performance as a whole. Most clubs have players out in any given season and its not something the players or football dept have too much control over. Ive never worked within an AFL club but would expect injuries to core players to be in their top 10 risks.
  5. Coherently looking at a situation involves starting with values and principles. Delisting Clark without providing every opportunity for him to recover feels wrong to many on DL because it undermines the culture we desperately need to build. Salary cap room isnt our priority but building a culture and standing for something is.
  6. Does this put Clark on the LTI? Wonder who steps up from the rookie list?
  7. This is a very selfish way to look at the situation. He injured himself giving his all to lift the team and when fit has been a superstar. Injuries happen and I dont see anything he did wrong. If anything the club is liable for being crap and making him carry too much of the load of playing in a poor side.
  8. Stockdale says I "dont doubt" I can work with Jackson. Hes saying he can work with Peter Jackson but the journo puts the opposite in the headline. Id sue for libel.
  9. I dont see the problem here. We need 1. An influential president who is passionate about the club. CHECK 2. Can work with Peter Jackson, which id see as a prerequisite to AFL funding/support. CHECK 3. Can represent members and ensure decisions are made in the best interest of the club in cases where the AFL and MFC interests are not aligned. CHECK Dont know where ppl got the idea he cant work with PJ
  10. What about Cale Morton, surely he makes up for sone gaps.

  12. Great that he see's our position as an opportunity - would be a handy addiion to our core group.
  13. Without Cale Morton we dont have anykne to matchup on Goodes.
  14. I think part of the problem is our 6 most competitive players shoulder the load of the 6 least competitive players, along with poor execution requiring superman efforts to score or stem the flow.
  15. Charlie Sheen for president - winning!
  16. What if Craig coached this year and next year, focussing on team development, to hand over to Clarkson at the end of 2014?
  17. We need to develop Watts to play on ball. His versatility to play in a number of positions and generate play is crucial for us moving forward. If he keeps building his intensity and agro he will be a fantastic player.

  19. I remember last season one of the leaders, I think it was Nathan Jones, said that Spencer gave the team a real lift because of his competitive nature. I've also heard that he enjoys hurting the opposition. The great thing with competitive players is that they will always compete regardless of whether they are having a bad day. Also, looking at the footage it appeared that Spencer braced and turned to avoid contact but McEvoy lurched forward changing direction when he fumbled which resulted in the collision. The only thing Spencer could have done differently was left himself open or go in head first. IMO he didn't bump as a bump would involve delivering force on the contact, while he braced which resulted in lessening the force. I reckon he will be offered 1 - 2 with an early plea but really hope the club appeal any ruling more than 1 week as he didn't bump.
  20. Matt Jones is awesome in front of the media too
  21. I'd like to see a triple collar and perhaps blazer style lapels on the front.
