  1. We won the coin toss v Fremantle but chose to kick into the wind. Do the AFL keep stats on win/loss ratios for each captains coin tosses?
  2. How would you justify this position if he lands a gig as a Senior Assistant Coach in 2014? From what ive heard he is highly rated in this capacity and a number of clubs are bidding for his services. The proof will be in what he is doing in 2014.
  3. Not sure the mods would be happy about your finger in the dyke remark but I liked it. Id summarise our problem as having a poor Administration who didnt understand what it took to be professional football team. While our fortunes may have been better with a different coach we'd never be anything but a bottom half side without fiximg the Administration. I think Neeld started what needed to be done but lacked the experience and support to see it through.
  4. This said, I will do whatever I can to support the club in turning our fortunes around because we as supporters want Melbourne to earn back respect and become the powerhouse we should be.
  5. The reality is we are a laughing stock. Sometimes the comedy is all that keeps us supporting and stops us from pushing an old lady off the train platform onto the tracks or punching a baby.
  6. Great to see this. Aaron Davey has been a great stalwart of our club and it will be great to see his continued involvement.
  7. Everyone involved in a football club plays a role jn defining its culture including supporters. The MFC has not understood this. Don McLardy highlighted this when he said the MFC problems of 2013 were Footy Department and not Administration. Wrong answer Don. Jack Watts highlights this everytime he says we need leaders that can stand up. Why dont you stand up Jack. We supporters highlight this whenever we accept mediocrity. We need everyone from the administration, coaches and players aligned to being in a position to compete for and win our 13th flag.
  8. Lol - thats ok im taking my frustration out on Jack Watts who mostly deserves it but not to the extent that he is responsible for our plight.
  9. We are insulting his performance not him as a person. JW is insulting his team, supporters and the MFC heritage through his weak performance and petulant behavior on The Footy Show last week. In contrast Col Silvia, a free agent with currency in the market, declares he wants to help turn MFCs fortunes around and plays accordingly.
  10. Dawes would create a contest and opportunity to crumb, not to mention leadership and making our other forwards (Fitzy, Howe) walk taller by taking best defender.
  11. These are only a handful of JW's poor efforts and lack of will for the contest. His behavior on the footy show illustrates why he has only 2 games left to make a statement on staying v leaving. To bring his fan squad onto the footy show and engage in their homage. Sam Newman was right to question what he has ever done to ask questions of the club. In my opinion his only achievement so far is being selected number 1 draft pick. Jack Watts represents what is wrong with our club and can either play like his life depends in it for the next 2 games or never don the Red and Blue again.
  12. So if Craig is senior coach next season and we start winning will you still not buy a membership FOREVER? Good luck with that.
  13. Agree with much of this until the Gen Y rant. Totally irrelevant, discriminatory and inflammatory.
  14. The difference is that Watts was playing at the end of the ground with 17 teammates ahead of the ball while Silvia was often kicking into our forward half/50 to a 2 on 4 contest against a well drilled defence who consistently out positioned our inexperienced forward line. Silvia was easily our best contested ball winner. Watts did a good job generating offensive ball movement from our defence but failed to apply pressure and win the ball.
  15. Thanks Enyaw, reading your post is like solving a rubix cube
  16. Sylvia is one of our most combative and consistent players and really seems to care about improving oyr performance. Yesterday he had 8 clearances and 16 contested possies and worked hard the whole game. People bemoan his poor disposal but he had noone forward of centre to kick to because we had 2 loose men in defence. His 6 inside 50's would have looked much better with a Clark or Dawes up forward.
  17. I remember seeing Viney about 10 mins jnto the 4th and he was stuffed but then ran about 70 metres to a contest. I enjoyed the game on his account.
  18. Silvia's intent and body language was excellent today. He cares about how the team is performing. I think he will stay.
  19. Trengove and Grimes work really hard to get in the right llaces structurally. They are not our problem. I also thought Blease did some really good team defensive work, watch the defensive play that lead to Kent's goal in the first qtr. I have a feeling this will be shown on the craig report next week.
  20. Unless Watts decides to do everything he can to win us games we should trade him for someone with hunger to win and turn our club around. He is capable of applying aggression and intensity to win the ball as shown in a few games this season.
  21. 1. Jack Viney - MFC heart and soul 2. Trengove - finding the ball a bit more 3. Silvia - strong clearance work 4. Dunn - solid in defence 5. McKenzie - nullified Fyfe and found the ball 6. Spencer - combative I've had it with Watts, today he was a basketballer with no intensity, wouldn't tackle and consistently beaten 1 on 1.

    GAME DAY

Havent been paying clise attention but our contested ball improves with Jordie in.

Similar gait with short legs and long trunk. Kent is very competitive in the air with good burst of speed.

Agree entirely although Dunn would be up there with unfairly treated players
