Let’s hope those of us in Adelaide can get a ticket, my #positivelingers shirt is primed and ready to go for it’s first live outing.

Given England have progressed at the Euro’s, I was googling the origins of the chant/song “It’s coming home”. I couldn’t help but draw a parallel….. Both teams haven’t had a major trophy since the 1960’s Both teams invented the modern version of the game. Both teams are playing games at the home of football Both teams have had long suffering supporters. Im turning this into my new theme. Come on dees bring football home…..

Having previously been a soccer referee (at a much lower level), I have on occasions, paid 50/50 decisions against someone who has abused me. Also from a psychological point of view, to show that their behaviour will not Alter my decisions I felt obliged to continue to pay frees. Umpires are human, and no one likes being abused or disrespected. It’s not in anyone’s interest to challenge decisions in anything but a respectful way. Having said this, it’s a professional environment, I’ll back Max in to determine what’s acceptable in that environment. I’m sure if he thought he was making the situation worse he or goody would reign it back in.

If it makes you feel any better I had to roam around a large public event in Adelaide (pedal Prix) on Sunday, and I wore my normal attire ( demons hat, tshirt and jumper). I copped it all day!

Except if just like the lions in Rd 3 we win with a kick after the siren this week and footy Karma prevails! -
I just need to know if Andy got out alive so we can have a podcast this week

Unless you live here… then you loath them :.) sounds like a big night, hope you weren’t drinking and scooting :.)

Also if you just want a great Indian takeaway curry, North Indian cuisine on Hindley st is not far from Adelaide oval and is pretty good and cheap, it’s the polar opposite of fine dining.
-
Jasmins if you like Indian. Gauchos Argentinian if you like meat (I personally find it a bit expensive.) CM2 Cafe Michael on Rundle st for Asian ( or just walk along Rundle st for lots of options ) Amalfi for Italian I personally like the pub across the road, from Adelaide oval, possibly called the cricketers arms or something like that, but I’m not really into fine dining. It’s also packed on game days.

Just an opinion, but maybe we just had too many talls on the weekend. Just because you have lots of quality, doesn’t mean you have to play them all. Sometimes less is more.

Tickets are always filthy expensive to crows games. It is a supply vs demand issue. Most of the seats are reserved seat for their members. Port matches are always cheaper ( but more feral ) :.)

My whole family face palmed when we heard that one. Absolute classic!!!

Agree. BBB just over Weid, need to bring in a small. Too many talls interfering with each other today. I think it works ok with Jackson he is good below his knees, otherwise it’s another small or medium for me.

BT -“ The fans are quiet because Melbourne supporters are bored of winning.” I have no words….. The most ridiculous comment I have heard in a long time.

Any reason BBB didn’t stand in the middle and get a Gatorade shower for the song today?

Good points. I also worry with the new kick in rules that if you kick a behind it gives the opposition a chance to really clear that zone, but given our superiority in the air maybe we back ourselves to get it back. I will be interested to see if Richmond go shorter from their kick ins, rather than a long bomb.

Did anyone see the “Ross the Boss” segment on footy classified this week? There was a particular focus on our kick into 50 in congested situations being very pocket centric rather than more centrally. This is something I’m constantly observing, that even if you mark it in the pocket you have next to no chance of converting. The flip side is if you go more centrally with the kick, you potentially open yourself up to being hit on the rebound, but also have the opportunity for better crumbing opportunities for the small forwards. Anyone have some other ideas on the benefits of going deep into the pocket?

Mitch Brown is playing The Fritsch role which Fritsch gets back as soon as he is ready. There is no doubt Mitch Brown is on borrowed time. I’m not convinced swapping Weid in for a game playing that role benefits him?

Tom McDonald has played 3 out of the last 4 games very well in his current role and at AFL level. Weid has played one blinder and one half of footy at VFL level where he didn’t get near it from all accounts. I’m not convinced we should be rotating 3 or 4 players around to fit Weid in at this stage. I’d like less changes to a winning formula not more. On the basis of form, Weid gets told to give us another solid game in the VFL. He needs to push Tom out.

I’m ok with the top teams being rewarded, except 4 teams finished on equal points. The lopsided draw and the fact Adelaide racked up massive percentage against low ranked teams and finished top irks me. I know the draws are uneven in the men’s, the shortened season magnifies this inequity in the women’s. I think this is a different game if played at Casey. The team can be proud of their season, it wasn’t their day today, but Sometimes that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

Quite windy, not much difference to Casey, come on girls

Steady rain falling here. Ben Gibson and Libby Birch said they were expecting fine conditions, but I think we might see a shower or two, this will favour us I’d reckon...

Just to compare the pair fairly, tickets were free to that Grand final, in my view that inflates the numbers quite a bit, because people who are curious and think why not. I am going to today’s match with my wife and eldest daughter, tickets were $22 for the three of us (with juniors being free). The last COVID matches I went to at Adelaide oval last year by comparison (men’s) were $60 and $120 I know the AFL had frozen ticket prices for the first 2 rounds of finals. I would be very interested to see what they do with the Grand Final. I hope they keep prices the same and encourage as many people to go as possible.
