  1. Really? It seems to me all he wanted was a reasonable chance to put forward a case to the voting members as to why he would be a better candidate. He was not given that chance. I don’t know the bloke, but it sure seems like all he asked for was a democratic election process. I read the judgement and it sure seems like his requests were fair and reasonable.
  2. What a great retirement speech! Well done sir, pure class!
  3. Why 2 years seems more than reasonable for both parties?
  4. Can we have a discussion about centre clearances. I concede that there is nuances around centre clearance, that mean winning every centre clearance isn’t necessary, especially if the opposition kick dirty ball in that we can intercept and slingshot from. But I don’t think it’s any coincidence that the first quarter saw us win some centre clearance, get territory and then lock it in with pressure resulting in a fairly dominant quarter. Post 1st quarter The Giants then were able to get on top in the middle. This is a repeat pattern that opposition is winning clearance but are getting cleaner entries than we would like, putting our defence under way too much pressure. I can concede we have had injuries, But we have the premier ruckman in the comp and our midfield cattle is good. Is this an Yze vs Mcqualter thing or what is going on in the centre clearances.
  5. Is Andy’s ladder predictor back this year?
  6. Percentage is going to be so important in this very close season. Please play this one out boys.
  7. Melksham on the left, what a kick.
  8. I read Petty didn’t get up after training with a hammy
  9. Who gave Fritsch the angry pills, I like! Goodwins presser earlier in the week suggested he needs to start with pressure, the offense will come from that.
  10. Was that the one where the umpire took forever to blow this whistle, but the crowd were booing so he thought he better do something
.
  11. Do they think we are Nth Melbourne? I hope someone shows the players that and asks them to show the footy world what they think of that level of disrespect.
  12. $4.95 I just got, and the line was 29 points head start with Jake lever back in the side. Look I don’t think we will win on probabilities, but those odds are too juicy to ignore.
  13. Maybe it’s something to do with those cracked ribs?
  14. Barring Jake Lever, all our key defensive stocks are 30+. Let’s face it Jake Lever is almost with them. It makes sense for us to make changes that are in the right age profile where possible in an incremental way. Rather than us losing 2 or 3 in one hit. Seems like the right type of player to me. I’d rather take a known quantity in the key defensive posts than risking drafting for one given our current age demographic in this area.
  15. Some people have the funniest jobs https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-05-23/afl-mullet-count-data-analysis/103850072 Analysing footy mullets now I have seen everything
  16. Where do I sign up to this 4 day work week ?
  17. This is an interesting read: https://chewthestat.com/freekickeveryone-a-study-of-the-free-kick-count-as-the-football-fans-favourite-scapegoat/ Im just curious, out of the 11 free kicks paid to Carlton in the first quarter, which ones didn’t you like? Or conversely is there some we should of gotten but didn’t? Or is it a combination of both?
  18. Viney, the desperation, to keep us in it, just Brilliant. just one of those nights where we things didn’t go our way.
  19. Time for some payback for last years final
  20. In addition to this, Steven May seemed to indicate in his post match on Fox footy, this tactic was to also fatigue the cats forwards, presumably by chasing us to defend. Very clever in my view. It would be interesting to see Jeremy Cameron tracker numbers, I wonder if his shanks at the end of the game can be attributed to extra running and fatigue.
  21. Stevens Mays post match interview on Fox footy was quite enlightening. He said when asked about the game plan in the first half that there was a strategy to take some uncontested marks and make them defend for longer to “take some energy out of their forwards”. It definitely appears that our first half’s are geared towards tight contested footy, and then we unleash in the second half. Are we simply grinding teams down?
  22. Um

For what it’s worth, I love that you guys include the audience, take questions from everyone and allow us all to feel connected to a community. I think it’s one of the key reasons for the success of the pod and the site.
  23. After we got 4-5 goals up, did we put the cue in the rack, slow the game down and manage the margin for the last quarter? It just felt to me that coming off the 5 day break, we did what we needed to do, no more than that. I feel there was more in the tank if we needed it, but we didn’t.
  24. How can players have long sleeves, I’m sweating it up
  25. In case I don’t get to post again, good luck to Jack Viney in his 200th.
