Demonland Podcast LIVE Tonight 6/8 @ 8:30pm
Rossmillan replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Congratulations guys, well done!!! -
My wife and I were lucky enough to be at the game. That little man McHenry was running in and hitting Max over 50m off the ball, when he was in the forward line. Was absolutely disgraceful.

Was on in Feb at $101, after the preseason game. Noticed he’s in to $13 now. How many votes is Max going to take off him? For me these two are the standouts, and can’t see too many others pinching the votes. Fingers crossed we can keep winning!!!

Have you seen the crows play this year :.)

Well done guys, enjoyed the interview and your regular analysis. Anyone else think Glen sounded a bit like David Neitz? -
Demonland Podcast Featuring Glen Bartlett Wednesday 1/7 @ 8:30pm
Rossmillan replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well done guys, enjoying your podcast and this is a great get. An update on the financial position of the club and the impact caused by COVID-19 to club finances would be great. An update on how the 5 Million requested from supporters is going, and the high level split of how it will be used to pay off debt vs strategic plan etc -
Please state what lie you think has been told?

I'm happy to be incorrect, but my reading of the financials isn't aligning. Where am I going wrong? Im going from the 2019 financial report which goes up to 31 Oct 2019. I assume the situation hasn't got better from there. My view is that 8 Million is not in the bank, in fact its in negative territory: "Cash at bank and in hand 225,508" but "Bank overdraft(322,944)" "At 31 October 2019, the Club had a $400,000 (FY18: $400,000) overdraft facility with Westpac. At 31 October 2019 the overdraft facility was drawn down to the balance of $322,944 (FY18: undrawn). The overdraft facility will incur an interest rate of 7.69% per annum, with interest charged monthly" I guess you could argue the other items listed as current assets, such as merchandise and food an beverage are "cash in the bank", but I really don't see that as the same thing. There is $1million in financial assets, but it doesn't seem to say what they are. I also disagree with your proposition that we have $8mil in the bank, and the Bentleigh Club as a freehold asset. Im just guessing here, but I suspect that the Bentleigh Club is already included in the assets, titled as Land $8.7 million. When you mention that debt is 2 mil down from eight. Does that include selling the leighoak club for $7mil?

Isn’t the barefoot investor, Scott Pape, an MFC supporter. Maybe we could get him to teach some people about investing and how to demolish debt. I work hard for my money, I feel like these suit wearing guys in charge of club finances, have no appreciation of how to manage money. Carona virus is an aberration, but this is not the first time we have massive debt and the solution isn’t better financial governance, it’s get a handout from the supporters.

No footy on the weekend, I watched the 2018 finals vs Geelong and hawthorn. In those games, we: Move the ball with speed Almost never went sideways or backwards Pumped the ball in long to 20-25m out from goal, to tall targets with crumbers at their feet Tackled with ferocity, but not all players went to the pill. Fast forward to 2020: My observation is that we are trying to use the ball better. Many kicks are going sideways into the centre corridor. We are then trying to open up the forward line. Maxy said that players were misinterpreting the instructions of “patience”. Im starting to think it’s not the forwards, its our slow ball movement and the players are not quite sure what with the person with the ball is going to do. I understand game plans have to evolve, but I feel like maybe we radically changed a game plan the players understood and believed in, instead of making some incremental changes.

Eddie’s jumper feud with Kochie just escalated
Rossmillan replied to Rodney (Balls) Grinter's topic in Melbourne Demons
Interesting use of the wording “current board”. I have no doubt that Collingwood has signed agreements, handshakes and verbal agreements with “previous boards”. -

So Eddie says port signed a contract. Honestly what choice did they have, if they wanted to enter the AFL there was no choice. This is a fair and reasonable request, to wear it in showdowns. Eddy himself said he’s never turned down a request for port to wear it in the past -
Gawn won the B&F, just interested who you would list as more important, I have him at the top of my list. Sure we can still do well without him, but he is the most important IMO

Dees Confirm Chase for Arsenal Fitness Guru
Rossmillan replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
This would be a highly valuable appointment if we could get him. Cannot believe the negativity on this one. EPL is no Mickey Mouse league. He has proven AFL experience, and under his watch Port dominated with their ability to outrun the opposition. Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe it was th year they made the prelim. Pretty sure before Port he also had a stint at Liverpool. I vaguely also remember an Adelaide advertiser article where he was running a program where other clubs/sports were sending their people to learn from him. Get it done! -
Demonland Podcast LIVE Tonight (16/4) @ 8:30pm

+1 Podcast removal from mobile site, I like to listen to cool soothing tunes whilst reading demonland on the bus and the podcast accidentally starts frequently. Could I say that I am thoroughly enjoying the podcast each week, you guys are doing a great job!!! Question for possible discussion. How many players should we rotate in/out of the side given the short turn around between saints and Richmond. Given many posters think some “depth” players are like for like replacements, should we opt for fresh legs or play the best available side. Keep up the good work. -
On my Apple TV, you can play from start, then pause and slide the green dot to any point in the game within a few seconds and then hit play again. That’s how I go back to where I was up to.

Perfect, flying over from Adelaide and Father's Day tickets are in M2. Will be nice to be near our supporters for once. Thanks for the reply!!

Can anyone confirm which end our cheer squad will sit? I presume the great southern stand end since we are the home team?
-
Weathers good at the moment, rain expected but doesn't feel like it at the moment. Feeling very out numbered in the East stand. Some bloke walked past and said ooh some opposition

Finals is an important stepping stone on the way to the ultimate goal. Even if we play one final this year and drop out, it's 1 extra game of finals experience the side gets. It also breaks the finals drought, paving the way for the assault on the flag for the next few years.

Port rarely draw a crowd. Therefore there is also General admin seating in the top of the stand at the river end, if the Ferals turn ugly, which they will when they start losing :.) Ill be in the full gear - loud and proud!

Good start to the day, jokingly refused entry on the bus this morning. Port supporters nervous. Going to be cold, but can't wait! Dees by 13pts
