  1. Yep I thought so too. We were probably the better team for the last 2.5 quarters....not too bad an effort when we were 2 players down and over in the west. Effectively 3 players down if you count Matt Jones.
  2. I hated liking your post but unfortunately I agree. But will add somewhere in this debacle we'll win a quarter
  3. Either both had to go or just Schwab had to go. But either way Schwab had to go. Gary lyon was a brilliant player and deserves to e a club legend but his off field input has really hurt us. FIrst he talked jimmy out of sacking both together and then he hired Neeld on the word of Malthouse. Which all lead to the darkest chapter in this clubs history. In hindsight now, Bailey was ahead of his time and we have only been able to dream of his moderate success since. What a crap time to follow this club.
  4. Me too....but my anger has been so watered down over so many frikn years...thats all I had left
  5. I want to follow an AFL club again....I mean a real one. Yes, I'll keep buying memberships...and I'll keep donating money to third world countries too. Its some kind of obligation I have. But thats what this club has become ....an obligation. Whenever you think you've hit the bottom they're always there to take you one step lower.
  6. No no stop.... I'll talk ... I'll tell u anything ...just no more torture!!!!
  7. Agreed. Robbo is just so frikn HARD to listen to. He's like a drunk guy at a party that you cross the room to avoid .......and then someone you cross the road to avoid when you see him outside.
  8. ok nostradamus....are we going to win on Sunday?
  9. I was there that day. Something not often remembered is that from memory he had kicked 10 or 11 goals and only 1 point at 3/4 time. I think there was some stuff happen off the ball in the last and he lost his focus a bit and started missing. But dead set he could have kicked 16 goals that day. O song he was unstoppable. Pity he didnt like training or rehab or he could have been a genuine champion of the game
  10. I think we should put in for another one anyway. We may actually have a better chance if we do that than when we really needed it! Even if we win 7 or 8, if you take the last 8 years into consideration they just CANT say yes to theirs and no to ours. Or perhaps they can but only because they've botched the whole frikn exercise up so badly. From its very inception. They've given it over to popular opinion ( great way to run an organisation...NOT) opinion that can shame the club requesting or, in this case, be on the lions side. But for no quantifiable reason except sentiment. Suddenly all the arguments for not giving us one last year dont matter?? Caro Wilson did the club SO much harm back then ....not to mention Schwabb and Neeld. Hard to not feel perpetually angry about these things. The way the press are backing Brisbane here makes me think the Dees really are not wanted in this competition. I myself struggle to see how we will continue to compete.
  11. I feel sick reading that. Imagine if Essendon hadn't destroyed the records of their drug taking after they were tipped off Imagine if they'd come clean and been smart enough to accept a 6 month ( probably only 3 missed matches) ban 2 years ago Imagine if they hadn't made themselves look so foolsih by going to court and trying to block teh ASADA trial on technicalities....twice. Imagine if Essendon had recognised and taken responsibility for the drug shambles and sacked Hird and others along with Evans at the outset Imagine if they hadn't protested their innocence whilst at the same time having conveniently NO supporting records to back them up nor have them supplied by Dank Imagine if the Essendon heavies hadn't moved in to stop people that KNEW what had happened actually testifying Imagine if the media hadn't been so full of utter crap in defending the indefensible .....just imagine And finally ( I cant help myself) imagine if Melb had had even half the media support when they got publically shamed for doing what half the clubs in the comp had done and imagine if the AFL had taken responsibility for creating a rule that encouraged teams to lose at seasons end instead of just blaming us ....just imagine There.....I feel better.
  12. Interesting re how I felt our team looked against Geelong and we won that by 4 goals. A wounded Essendon, with backs against the wall and everyone writing them off, is a dangerous proposition. I hardly think we're the type of team to go into ANY contest over confident though. Im expecting a really super tough, hard fought, game with strong statements made from the first bounce. Hoping we dont have too much of a post darwin drop and that Brayshaw plays. Wins are gold for us and this is a real chance.
  13. For every good thing Neeld did he did twice as much damage. Roos has recruited genuine guns, Neeld "cleaned the list" and then replaced who he sacked with players even worse. He transformed our "culture" from bad to shocking and we became the last place on earrth any player would want to come. The only genuinely good thing he did was a complete accident. He made us so bad that Roos and Jackson were enlisted. Anyway I shouldn't keep going with Neeld bashing as we're on a new page now............ but I still feel angry when I think about him and those years.
  14. They're BOTH problems old dee. One is short term hopefully ( the list) the other is longer term. If we don't sort that out we may have ( even more) trouble attracting decent players.
  15. Cant shake the same feeling today. We got Cloke on one of his rare "on" days. The horrible out on the full decision in the 2nd quarter that came of McDonalds Knee...Goal. The horrible decision against Dunn to Cloke in the 3rd? Goal. Fitzys mess....Goal. Lumumba letting elliot run around him from a free....Goal. Dunns kick out ...Goal. Watts missing the mark 2 goal turn around. Howe missing his shot on goal in the last. So many things hurt us and hey made us pay for all of them. I feel happy at how we competed and the toughness with which we did so. I can see somethiing building ...but at the same time Im hurting we lost as we so could have pulled that off.
  16. Love what Roosy has and is doing...and love his pull in the media. Love the respect with which he is held and that he came here in the first place. But....to say " the players dont listen" like he had didnt have any power in the box and via runners is dumb.
  17. with Vanders out Viney is the last player we can lose. Heres hoping.
  18. I think we wont hear about the true nature of Frosts injury til the membership window closes. Bad news affects sales etc. But it seems a safe bet to say its def not a broken toe.
  19. I feel the same rpfc but It occurs to me that the players do too. which explains why Roos says some are scarred. Neeld and schwabb almost destroyed our club...im still not sure if we're going to make it out of the emergency room
  20. I see Frost is now listed at 6 weeks. Which some might say is an improvement on 4-6! But either way it must be way more than a broken toe. Anybody know anything about the real nature of his injury?
  21. Dawes is a must. Not just because of all the good things being said about him here, but if we want to make the transition easy for Hogan having someone like him around is invaluable.
  22. Point taken. I guess being a low drawing, shite side we're always going to be one of the teams in the gun for Geelong at Geelong. ... and thinking further I guess we get "given" the queens bday game and perhaps thats part of the deal. I dunno really but Im with you Curry it IS unfair. Its just that so much of the game ( from the fixture, to the blockbusters, to stadium deals, to the advertising dollar etc etc) is unfair these days its hard for me to get angry about it anymore. I just think when we're a better side, we'll draw a bigger crowd and hopefully not continue to be given the short straw in these things.
  23. Sadly the Bulldogs, North and St. Kilda have all been a fair bit better than us. Which is pretty damning isnt it? I seem to remember a Friday night game against Geelong in the rain about 6 or 7 years ago and us getting done by the regulation 100+ points of the era. Since then I don't think we've had them back there. If we start improving, and all signs are good, then lets see what happens. A home and away game for each club is the only FAIR way to do it but a level playing field is turning more and more into a fairytale these days.
  24. Hope is a dangerous thing to have as a demon supporter isn't it. As soon as I have any in the bank its get raided. So disappointing, as watching him progress and hopefully debut was going to be one of the really enthralling aspects of 2015. At least its just a knee and he doesnt need a heart replacement like Scully...or Morton....or Cook...or Gysberts or.....ahhhh Im just depressing myself.
