CHANGES: Rd 12 vs Collingwood
I came to this thread without having viewed either of last two weeks matches and relying on radio cover, with media commentary and Dland adding retrospective detail. i have heard and seen comments on most players who seem to have both detractors and supporters, there is certainly a range of opinion and much of the Dland comments shows just how passionate and thoughtful are our supporters. Indeed all Dland negativity is founded on the desire to continue improvement. I am probably even more confused than ever as I just don't know enough of the players condition and attitude despite or perhaps because of the range of thoughts expressed here, and I'm only four pages in. I do think though that this is a greater test of the coach than the players, and it is the most significant one so far. This game will undoubtably be played with far more intensity than any played this season. Collingwood have everything to play for with everything to lose. They will come out no doubt prepared to do anything to win. They will come out with the confidence that the umpires will rule in their favour in any contest. They will be able to play with an assurance that like every opponent Melbourne has played, will receive soft free kicks while Melbourne players will really have to earn theirs.. They will come out with the knowledge that their powerful and strong supporter base expect to win and will not accept any half or even full efforts, expecting them to play at 190% and to give second third and even fourth efforts on every contest. They will be ruthless. And we should expect nothing less. its why every fibre of my body screams that Jackson at least should be rested this week. Any young, underdeveloped, or suspected fitness concern body should be taken out of the now improved list that we have. Bodies and minds cannot enter this match with anything less than total commitment to win as a team. Individuals must still perform, and individual contests must be won but individual efforts will not overcome a United and committed team. Jones should be able to remind players of the humiliation and arrogance Collingwood have displayed against Melbourne opponents, the players must be reminded not only of the present but of the past. But more importantly they must be told clearly of the future. The potential of this group is greater than any we have recently had and this match can be a portent of their future. But it is as a group that this will happen and some of the group will not play in this match for specific reasons. There must be no internal rivalry but only cohesion. There must be total commitment and support for every player on the field together and from those on the sidelines. Only this will make the possible, a deserved reality. The coach has to achieve this mind set and has to deliver this message to every player in whatever manner is required to ensure they understand this. I hope this can be done or Goodies tenure must be even more tenuous. GO DEES.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Adelaide
My steam driven technology, erratic NBN cover, intellectual laziness and general disaffection with paying for private coverfor what is free for most dissuades me from watching and I can't be tossed going upstairs to listen ABC so appreciate any and all comments here. i have found it good in the past as the emotions of Dlanders are displayed as visibly as if at the match. Do look forwa d to meeting a few of the posters in real time at the G, Redlegs gatherings GO DEES, DDoes my enthusiasm come through as genuine enough. Im even forgoing Mad as Hell for this version of entertainment.

Lloyd: Trade Oliver or Brayshaw
Totally agree. We finally have some depth for rotation and some Lloyd want to get rid of that. Let the bombers take Goodwin back so we can get a coach who can use the squad we have successfully.

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Port Adelaide
It's only conjecture coz I'm not in the club rooms but something is going on. We have some players that have shown they have skills and some have less skill but great endeavour. But both these attributes are so nconsistent that our game fluctuates so widely. It is difficult to believe these players can play so badly unless they have been instructed to. i have stated often that poor and inconsistent umpiring desicions cause frustration and lack of confidence. The coach needs to address these basics with some novel action. If there are personnel conflicts the coach needs to know and address them. The coach needs to instil a total club focus and the significance of winning. Mate suggested telling all players to take their jumpers off at half time and telling them that only players who wanted to play for that jumper should pick em up and go back out. I thought we should just go out and cause so many free kicks that the umpires lose heart and can't possibly pay them all.We are continually scragged, tripped, jumped on with no kick given, let's just do it ourselves and bugger the consequences. We must do something. It's up to the coach.

I worked in Collingwood one time and sat in the Berbers chair where I heard Len Thompson in an opposite chair say that the worst thing about losing was that you got spat on by supporters no matter where you were, While I do not countenance that level of behaviour WE NEED TO GET MORE BRUTUAL TO OUR PLAYERS(REPRESENTATIVES) because if they continue this stuff for too long there will be deaths.

Titan I agree with so much you say. AND Unfortunately I can only lay it at the foot of the coach it is his job to get the disparities and variable characteristics available to win if he can't do this get out of the wavy. This is atgiably the best squad in my lifetime, they show they can play with at some times but also deliver this crap at this time THE COACH IS RESPONSIBLE. There I've Shias it FIX IT SIMON PLEASE
