TEAMS: Rd 14 vs St. Kilda
Well it use of the squad which I have been asking for. Just not sure if it's the right use at the right time. Goodwin needs a good win.

Game plans, tactics and all that jazz
Well yes it's the old world example but the intention doesn't change. The need to inspire and motivate is still significant. We obviously don't spit n em and the authoritarian coach model redundant. teaches Teaching and reassuring must still motivate and inspire best performance and maximum effort. This is the most significant responsibility of the coach.

True, (but again as I have said perhaps too much) that's the coach's job. Make em inclined. I understand that familiarity may bred contempt and that message from the coach each game may not work it's why I suggested that a rev up from a Dland supporter may help. I recall sitting in a barber shop in Collingwood while Len Thompson was having a trim. He told the barber and the few customers that the worst thing about losing was that you couldn't get on a tram or run to training without being spat on by a Collingwood supporter. It gave added incentive to not be responsible for the loss.

Jesse Hogan on the way out at Freo?
LNev I always regard your input highly but I have clicked like on many of those supporting. I don't resile from that despite agreeing with all the points you have made. However either yes or no would strongly require full and open disclosure of the total decision making process. We are unlikely to get that and so like you I don't think it's worth commenting further.

Introductions
Yeah welcome aboard. Hoping to see plenty of you reporting on future victories and highlights for the next ten years, and then hope you don't have to experience another period like our last fifty ( my supporting lifetime).

Tom Lynch Incident (incl. Dimma vs The Ox)
Mick Condon was the one they couldn't catch.

Tom Lynch Incident (incl. Dimma vs The Ox)
Well I remember sitting at the MCG final where Essendon just thugged Fitzroy players. Quinlan, Sidebottom , Wilson,, didn't matter who they were they just attacked the player until they hold few left to actually contest. They couldn't catch one player whose name escapes me now. But it was the most disappointing game I ever saw no football just violence.

AoB this is the kernel of Chaos theory. The theory is a mathematical evolution from many different fields (commodity prices, electrical interference, meteorology) and was really fundamental through and for computer development. Pixels were a direct outcome of Ct mathematics. it is premised on patterns within apparently chaotic environments and with its own language of bifurcation and strange attractors held that the significant number was 6.34343 Or something similar. It had been proven in scientific circumstances and I presented a paper applying it to human resource practice. You may have stumbled on the genius of Goodwin in establishing a pattern exactly as you outline, resetting with the one wood. Only question is how does opposition fit into this theory, and my own abandonment of exploring further due to disgust with umpiring

I have found this thread fantastic, overwhelming in the intellectual content. i hope our opponents are not reading it as I believe it has exposed some very salient points. i also hope that there is similar examination of our opponents structures, patterns and actions, and that that analysis is handed on to the club. You have identified some specific individual and group weaknesses. I have not finished all the content but feel compelled to make some comments so apologise if I do repeat something that arises after p3. Many years ago I was overly examining Chaos theory. When our group went to the footy we often talked of what was the reason for MFC apparent lack of success. We talked of structures and personnel. Richmond eventually ievolved Chaos football after Footscray broke the Hawthorn Sydney structured models. We didn't have enough time or nclination to put the effort that contributors to this thread have done so congratulations. To return to the Chaos theory, I believe that you have identified the key feature of that theory there are patterns in Chaos. You need enough data a and sophisticated techniques to identify those patterns but they are there. You then need to recognise how to exploit those patterns. Consistency of action to establish bifurcation and create the expected outcome is what you have identified. i look forward to your continued data collection an analysis and hope there's is some aspiring younger generation who can undertake a Phd on this thread. But again I hope we are using this approach on our opponents to ensure we control the Chaos rather than react.

Demons in Top 4?
One week at a time eh?

Demons in Top 4?
Anywhere in the eight will do.. As is often said finals are a new season. While I believe we have a squad that includes team makeups that allows us to beat every team and I believe we can beat every team on the way to win the flag perhaps a loss along the way may be ok, just to relieve the pressure and restore underdog status with commentators. Doing a Bradbury ain't so bad if you end up with the prize. That said we must beat the dogs. its back to the coach to get the selections, structures and attitude right. I hope he is reinforcing their winning state and building confidence.

What they're saying down at Lulie Street
Not sure why you say rubbish. i agree with you that he is underrated, I think wizard reflects that. It's difficult to pick his game apart coz it is such high standard, usually fast and reactionary. I still reckon he gets no protection from the umpires, which shows how good he is. I said he works in the engine room and that is meant as a high compliment. i did say he sometimes doesn't put on pressure but I acknowledge and maintain it is because he is often recovering from the high ntensity work he has done., and I only said that and all other comments as to why he is underrated by opposition supporters. personally I don't care what opposition supporters say it's more important that we recognise he's a star and that our coaches look after him and use him well coz he is one of the significant part of the team that can have prolonged success for the next ten years. That's why your right mentioning his age.

Sam Weideman
Always thought Sam had potential. Only just beginning to reach it. He was slightly built and needed to grow into his body. Some can be done in gym but contesting with May and Lever helps timing and positioning. Weid can become a Tom Hawkins type using his speed and new found strength through timing. Better delivery and support helps. It was great that he performed against the Pies, I hope we are calling his name for years as he becomes part of our premiership teams. We also need to have some replacements to ensure he gets rested when appropriately.

What they're saying down at Lulie Street
Yep and doesn't it improve results. Hope the coach and other players reinforce this and continue to maintaining n the momentum to success. His slight build compared to others is deceptive. He is a hard nut and strong enough to extract. I do think that his effort is outstanding although it sometimes seem to fatigue him which reduces his defensive work. Needs to be managed with time in the engine room moderated. Significant part of our mid field team strength.
