  1. I think you are wrong 'D' but let's check back in maybe around 5 years time and see who's right. I don't think he's only a ruckman, he's got more strings to his bow than that.
  2. Totally with you here 'Dee'... He has so many strings to his bow I'm sure we won't restrict him as a pure ruck and use him were we need him best. Even Goody said he could be used as a mid. Goodes is an excellent comparison.
  3. The old play the free gig for exposure routine... You can only live for so long on love then you gotta put food on the table.
  4. I don't necessarily agree on this... Whilst I'm sure his flag at the Hawks fills him with pride. If he had won one with the Dees after going through the hard times with mates he started out with it would have just that little bit more value not the Hawks one of lesser value. ...but as you say, a flag is a flag and as I say, they're hard to come by...good luck to him.
  5. Totally with you here 'Macca'...I think we wanted him out the door to get the extra pick in lieu of a priority pick that the AFL weren't keen to give in name but gave us as compensation. Chip played some good footy for us but the last year went through the motions as we did by playing him forward. Club and player were in a holding pattern. Plus, he was a better player than most give credit for, a bit unlucky not to pick up the Norm in his premiership year. Good luck to him if he can get another year out...

If you're confused, how do you think he feels....
  7. Not just top 4...we made top 4 in 2018 and went out playing poor footy. Didn't recover in 2019 for whatever reason. Treading water in 2020. Must be better than just top 4 in 2021.
  8. Like the look of his highlights 'Chaser', wouldn't be disappointed to pick him up.
  9. If he's not clean air ground level then I would be concerned...couldn't see that being a first round trait.

Said this before, will say it again. We have a successful 2021, sure clubs will come knocking but there will be no reason to move. We have years like the last 2 and we can kiss goodbye to Trac and Oliver. The ball's in our hands ladies and gentlemen...

Thanks 'Macca', there's something special about vinyl. Putting an LP on the turntable, looking at great cover art and reading the liner notes not to mention the sound.

    'Dr Evil' is 'GNF'...
  13. I hope they're not basing their thinking on what happened this year. If they think they will get big tv ratings with another footy frenzy I hope they account for the fact they had a captive audience in Melbourne over the 2020 season. Surely that's not like to be the case next season (I hope).
  14. Doesn't seem to get the ball very much...

Just noticed this one... https://www.afl.com.au/news/524861/frawley-legacy-lives-on-with-new-centre-at-moorabbin?fbclid=IwAR3_1XUqA0tZTmXH5sGMlYI7JgjCa3rFOBmLWyC0OBntnaiHLhBTJsM7XS4 I'm interested to know how much the community really has access to these type of developments. Can someone tell me if it is real or just a smokescreen to get better club facilities?
  16. Let's hope Beams has the good grace to demand full payment and completion of his contract...

I would be great if he did...would make a lot of us including me look stupid but I wouldn't mind.
  18. I just watched some highlights and I would be trading up to get him based on those. Now, I haven't seen any of the kids this year apart from a couple of highlight packages and he looks good. His highlights are a mile ahead of Macrae who a lot seem interested in. I stress again just highlights..some of Perkins were of no value as they were pumping the opposition but there was some good stuff later in the reel...

Seriously 'Red', why would they? It's pretty obvious our FD doesn't rate him any longer either. If I was them I would be going for the kid in this case. Good kids who play KPF are worth their weight.
  20. Going by the highlights only and having not seen any of these players... Macrae was a bit underwhelming. Poulter was the most interesting, has great awareness and not afraid to take the game on. Anyway, looks like we should pick up a couple of good kids in this draft.

The SFL is a bit of both plus the old Eastern Churches league...

No it doesn't... It helps bring the game back to being the positional game it was meant to be rather than a running maul type game it often is. The basic idea of the zone is that a certain amount of players need to be in the forward half at any ball up or throw in. Players can still access the whole ground but they will need to be aware and not everyone will be able to crowd a contest. We already have limited zones in the game (centre square and kick out) and they've in my mind worked for the betterment. People are too scared to change though...I get that. Tinkering around the edges with interchange numbers and other minor rule changes is not going to make much difference...to really get the game working it zones are the answer.
  23. They still have the De Goey case hang over them. I wonder if they will seek AFL cap relief it this goes the wrong way. Probably will want a priority pick as well.
  24. Yep, you heard it right...unbelievable.
  25. It just gets worse...now the CEO is making a fool of himself on SEN. Lyon is hammering him and rightfully so...
