Well written by AA, nothing new here but spelled out clearly.

I think the suspension had an effect on Trengove and I thought the club could have gone in harder for him. He was hung out to dry by the AFL and it was very unfair on him. He's had a lot to deal with in a short football career, including this incident. The captaincy and injury have been a big weight and there is also the Dank thing sitting in the background.

Sometimes you need someone who will take a couple of weeks for the team.

If Jack Viney doesn't get the Rising Star Nomination, I will ...

Only other one in the running is probably Tom Young with the Doggies, had a pretty good game in a winning side. -
From what I've seen Crouch is a better clearance player than Sheed.

If Clisby gets more weeks than C. Brown then...

Brown definitely kicked Strauss in the head, a low act. -
Still not convinced with Dawes.

Tanking again today???taking Judd off, Murphy??? Nup, good win Doggies...too good.

Yep, you are right there. I certainly didn't mean gone from the club, I would hope they would all remain as members and supporters of the club. I think as directors they were weak and let other more powerful personalities control the club. They needed to be a lot stronger in their roles and this is where things came unstuck. The most damming item on the board report for me was that they were too involved in the management of the club yet chose to twice reappoint the person who should have been running the club, the CEO. My own view is they should never have allowed Jim to invite Gary in to "help out a mate". Gary has no experience in football apart from as a player and media performer, he did not have the required skills to do the job asked of him. It was amateur hour again at the MFC. A strong board would have been able to take care of this and get in the right outside help if needed. A quality CEO would have sorted it out before it got to this stage but unfortunately the board had reappointed a lame duck CEO twice. I will be happy to see a complete change at board level.

I wouldn't consider myself vindictive 'Jack' but I am still very angry at what happened at the club. It's not my attitude that led the club to where it is now it was poor decisions made and backed up by people who either agreed or wouldn't stand up when they should have. The board review shows that they were ineffective and indeed derelict in their duties to run the club properly, I think we still need a clean sweep of the board and hope it happens.

Sound positive for once. That would be nice for a change some POSITIVE news. Hopefully it's just the start of the Dees resurgence. I will be happy when any board members who supported the extensions to CS's contracts are gone from the club.

For sheer class it's Aish with Kelly and Billings not far behind. For attack on the ball and grunt it's Crouch by a fair way, a real clearance specialist. Sheed seems to cover off a lot of areas of the game (don't agree on the pace though, a bit one paced) but is not a standout in any. Maybe it means he has more upside in development, he certainly raised his profile with the carnival games, it's just a pity we don't get to see any more, or little more of him this year.
-
He's not going anywhere. Even our first round pick wouldn't get that done, the Boyd pick they might think about but still not likely.
-
Great communicator that's why he's called 'Rowdy'. 12 years in the system as an Assistant Coach, maybe he's a career assistant.
-
Totally agree with you mate, to me the major players have paid the price and of course there will be more changes but these guys have been doing their best for the club. It's not their fault the correct structures and environment were not in place for them to be more effective.
-
I wouldn't think so, he is more the tall back type of player. But nothing surprises 'Django', at least he's hard at the contest.
-
I'm saving my pennies 'old dee', I couldn't take another season like this without getting locked away.
-
Don't think he will get the job on Ablett though???
-
I think Sam does with the new coach, there is something to work with if Sam can get his endurance base up. If!
-
No, that's where we pick up more mids. Chip's not going anywhere, we get the right coach and things turn around he's staying.

Not by much, we are talking about a grown fully developed kid. Not Cook or Watts, this guy already tops 100kg. Look at how Grundy is going at Collingwood, the steal of last years draft. If they can play, they can play...the development thing is a bit of an urban myth about falls, most of really good key forwards step up in the first couple of years, take Brereton, Dunstall, Lockett, Brown and Cloke as examples. We are not going to build a premiership list in one year, previous experience shows that trying to pick winners (fill gaps in the list or pick the style of play) with the draft doesn't work. You take the best available footballer, if we need to trade others out then we do.
-
Because of this.... ...and quality key position players are much harder to get. We have one, Frawley the rest are maybes or just going's.
-
No, because we delayed a pick from last years draft it doesn't come into it.
-
The unwritten rule of recruiting..."take best available". We didn't learn a lesson that was well taught by the RFC with Tambling and picked Cook. We're not going to do it again and that's got to be good news.
-
They might be missing a lot of their list by next year or at best still in the middle of a legal battle. I don't think anyone would be wanting to take that on.
