  1. 'stuie', we had an ongoing argument on this forum before Schwab got the 'A' where you continued to support him to the bitter end. I understand he did a lot of damage and I think you do to. No he wasn't the sole person involved in this damage but I'm sure you understand that the damage done will not be undone straight away. We are still suffering the after shocks of CS and others.
  2. If that's the case then he is worth a crack. I rate Conca, hard at it and good basic skills with a lot of upside. Hard to believe the Tiges would let him go.
  3. I blame the previous regime for a lot 'wyl', if anything it may have been the type of players recruited, the culture of the club and of course the coaches hired. I think as 'old dee' will say tomorrow when he get's online that a lot of them just aren't good enough. I'm a little bit more upbeat than 'old' and think with some of them it is a confidence issue but a lot aren't good enough.
  4. 'stuie' I thought I'd said enough on this but he was a big part of the rot that has set this club back. It will take a while to recover from what Schwab did and I want to move on but seriously you need to get over your continual support of him and admit he screwed the club. Of course we are still terrible, we've had DH's making decisions that have put the club back years. FFS.
  5. They just aren't good enough 'wyl', I don't know if you've played or not but I've played in games where we've blown teams out of the water and games where we've been blown away. Everyone had a crack, it's just some teams and players are better and some have a much better system of play. Sometimes I will give you that teams are not mentally switched on but when you are getting whacked week after week it is no wonder. A lot of supporters get on here and say we don't mind so long as the players have a crack, well then they have a go at someone like Davis. the kid's in his 2nd game, he doesn't seem blessed with loads of skill but he has worked had at Casey and deserved a game and he looks lost as a forward and at the level but he tried as hard as he could. He may not make it but he is giving it his best shot. They don't play for each other because they are not sure if targets will be hit or if it will rebound to their opponent. Think in the 2nd Q where we were playing some good footy, we attacked hard, did all the right things got the ball into a scoring position but the bounce went the wrong way. That's deflating to a team like ours who have crunched for the last couple of years. The players went back into their shells. An interesting thing happened in the Geelong game last night where Rivers dropped into Mackie's space. Well of course he was just doing the Melbourne thing and not thinking about how a team like Geelong plays, players move to position with a purpose and more often than not it works because they trust in their teammate. Jared coped a server from Mackie, at Melbourne we don't know how to do this and we don't have the skills to execute that bring the trust from teammates to take the options.
  6. Time to rest this stuff. The club has been a basket case for a while now, let's get on with the new admin and coaches for 2014 and look to see improvement. The past has been a disaster and that is the legacy those involved will take with them, Board, CEO's, Coaches and players.
  7. I think you are right big fella.
  8. Good player Conca but I think the hold up is about him wanting to go home. Maybe we would be a chance if we relocate to WA.
  9. 'WYL', I agree with some of what you post but on this I agree with 'Pennant'. I think our guys are having a crack, I just don't think they have either the ability or confidence to compete with the top teams. Craig can't turn around the damage that's been done over the last 7 or so years in a few weeks. It's really hard to watch a game when you know deep down that your side has no chance or winning and that's virtually every game for us. It's soul destroying, but I do think the players are trying. They just don't know how to play good footy together, and of course some of them are not at the level. I'm totally with you on the CS regime but now it's time to move on, I know it's difficult but the new broom is almost through the club. Let PJ and President (Jed) Bartlett do their thing.
  10. Good pix, brought the emotion of Joel's last game. It's obvious he was a very respected team mate.
  11. I've really enjoyed watching the Doggies and the way they go about it, but you can't undersell the importance of the senior players on their list. Murphy, Gia, Cooney, Griffen, Morris, Boyd, Cross, Minson...these are the guys we don't have so our kids like Viney, Kent and Toumpas have to do it on their own. Stevens would be just going in a Melbourne side, I just love the way Dalhaus goes about his footy.
  12. I think it's a pretty good chance that it will happen.

    GAME DAY

Cost us the last goal by not chasing until he realised he should have.

    GAME DAY

He is being played out of position, for those who thought he should be deep forward now you see why he shouldn't. He needs space to move around and up the ground, high hf to wing.
  15. Thanks mate, that's good news.
  16. Anyone else here the 'Ox' when he heard about Hogan, he was so upset I thought he was going to lose it on air . Good to hear the passion come out for the club.
  17. Probably am nitpicking but he does put in the short steps when coming back with the flight, he's ok when it's in front of him. I just don't go with the line about him being fearless or a kamikaze, that's more someone like J Brown who doesn't know whats good for him.
  18. Nice after match press conference tonight with JH saying the players have been cleared, um James not yet they haven't. Sounds like a few of them aren't buying that line anymore. Comments like this can't be doing the players any good at all.
  19. He doesn't always, like pretty well all players there are times when he chooses his contests. Marking contests are where he gets a bit iffy.
  20. Nup, he's too big a risk, leaving a finals bound team for cash. Still young, trouble off the field, the sums don't add up. Not for us.
  21. No his rating comes from last year, he would have gone in the top few in that draft. He is seen as one of the best key position prospects in a while. better than Paton and was rated higher than Hogan and we know how he is tracking. We will get other high picks for mids and will trade for others. A forward line of Hogan and Boyd would set us up for the next decade. We would not get a good enough offer to pass him up. It would take a Griffen, Dangerfield or Fyfe to give him away and that's not going to happen. If Clark makes it back then he goes into the ruck, adds a quality ruckman and midfielder in one. No more tap ruckman waisting a position on the ground.
  22. No, he's not what we need as an assistant. We need some people with experience who know a lot about winning and don't come from the Melbourne culture.
  23. If we get pick one we take Boyd.
  24. I didn't agree with their position 'Jack' but you are right Adam is a smart young bloke with a passion for the football club. I had some contact with him over the issues they were pushing and suggested he would be better off without the ticket, he was very approachable and whilst we agreed to disagree on some things he was quite willing to listen and engage which is a good start.
