  1. And you ignore Micky Milkshake if that is the line you want to draw. But then you can always find a reason to exclude him if need be, because if we look for differences over similarities we'll always find them. You're seeing what you want to see, to draw the conclusions that you want to draw. Now I don't know if Roos is the answer or just another question, but the Blight analogy is wrong. Unless we are St Kilda circa 2001 and the bloke we are chasing is Blight, then the rest is just bunkum. Whatever Roos is he isn't Blight, and it's disingenuous to suggest it.
  2. Maybe if him and about 15 of his team mates played footy with a heart we wouldn't be changing coaches every couple of years. Pick 88 is more than that girl will ever be worth.
  3. Why can't it be both? I've been coaxed to change jobs and the clincher was money. Maybe I really would have preferred to stay where I was with the people I knew, but once you got me you got 100% because I've got that thing called pride. I'm not going to do any jobs half arsed. I'd like to assume that 99% of those that make it to the top in the cut throat business of AFL coaching have the same mindset. And why is Blight the one person that is thrown up every time this discussion happens? Why not Lyon? He went to Freo for the money. Is he phoning it in? Malthouse was coaxed out of retirement with a big stack of cash - is he giving a B grade performance. I agree with the other posters that have mentioned that he is most likely waiting to see if we can put a serious club behind him. I would. Right now I'd hope my son wasn't drafted to us, so dysfunctional are we. Hopefully that will change, but if I was going to risk reputation and uproot my life for a job I'd want to be sure that my best efforts wouldn't be undone by the ineptitude of others at every turn. I don't think that's too much to ask.
  4. Passive-aggressive: If he did well he'd actually get the job. You'd have to think any sane person wouldn't want that on their resume.
  5. Don't you know about the Hird? Well, everybody knows that the hird is the word A-well-a, hird, hird, h-hird's the word A-well-a A-well-a, everybody's heard about the hird Hird, hird, hird, h-hird's the word
  6. That'd make me as happy as a five goal win these days. Sometimes if you cant win the games then winning the fights is the way to go.
  7. I always thought Cale could play, and was sad to see him go, but we're not the lost dogs home. He had enough time on the list without doing much, and it was time to go. So be it if someone can get something from him we'd never had got. As for nicnat: AA last year - ha. Give him my skin color and my hair and he'd have as many bog's and aa's as I do. He can jump and if he gets within 3 feet of the ball he'll destroy you, but getting him in that 3 feet zone... Can that be taught?
  8. Who cares? 2014 will have 24 rounds of Hogan and that's all that will matter.
  9. That's it. I have no choice. I don't want one either. I get the occasional idiot say to me: "But if you supported X you would have seen Y amount of flags" My answer is: "I have seen X win Y amount of flags - and it annoyed me" I don't give a [censored] about who wins what if we didn't win what. It hurts like hell to be a demon, but it would burn like hell not to be. Better the Devil...
  10. It was either support the team or visit Madam Lash's house of whips - and Madam Lash charges too much.
  11. If you don't know what you'll get from Col then you haven't been watching footy for a decade, He's servicable and will turn it on every so often. He'll also go missing or belt someone. But we're better for him, and he's getting a little better each year, even if his will be another Trapper career,
  12. What does that even mean? Is Shehan giving himself an out on being wrong? Is Roos flipping coins? Does he keep yelling "No! No! No! Yes!" Have 3 of Shehan's gun sources said yes while 7 said no? What a stupid tweet. He's either 100% yes or 100% no. This other rubbish is Mike trying to read tea leafs and body language. Next story will be him and Robbo trying to feel the bumps on his head. *Sigh* - Disclaimer : I'd like Ratten, but if the AFL wants to pay Roos $39.6M per game, then who am I to stop them?
  13. Yeah, it's a chewy one. I tend to think he's full of it. He's gone from Harry the nutter to Poor Harry in one quick press conference. I think Harry the nutter still applies.
  14. That's a great couple of lines. If I had a dollar for every 'Oh the AFL will fix it up for Essendon. They love them' I might even be able to bribe the untouchables. If they brought down Lance then the Bombers haven't a snowballs chance in the Sahara of dodging this thing.
  15. I reckon it was an almost done deal from the moment the AFL got involved. The last couple of weeks efforts probably sealed it. We've got a good team with a C grade midfield. If Roos can land a good FA and we draft / trade well for others we're on our way.
  16. Yeah, but Neeld was hurting us. I hope Buckley treats all of his charges like dirt, and drives that club into the ground. Go Bucks! Eat some more dick!
  17. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Re-draft Moloney and get him to burst out of HB without looking where he kicks it. At least that way the Deli Lama isn't hanging around the club eating all the pies.
  18. FWIW he saved the game with those marks in the backline. That was a Neeld plan. I don't think Neeld was wrong, but I think he was wrong for the club. Now JW. That'll be Bails, Viney. Neeld, Craig... and the next one I'll eat my words on you so far and eat some humble pie as a side dish (side: one game does not make a...) BUT - it's all you now. No more tears buddy. Just you and the football. I think you can. Can you prove it?
  19. We're the whipping boy of the decade. If there was more to this the media be running with it, and rubbing our noses in it, every chance they had. Based on this I tend to think we dodged a bullet purely on timing rather than anything else. If Essendon had have imploded 12 months later though...
  20. If he started putting out anti club articles I'd worry, but otherwise it's fluff and feel good that is only hurts when the wheels have fallen off like it is now. If we won 5 in a row we'd all be on the MFC site reading all he could offer each Monday. See it for what it is. Enjoy the cheerleading in the good times, get some (maybe false hope) in the bad times, and (like I'm doing now) don't read it in the horror times if the nature of it doesn't rub with your take on reality. Basically there are many departments in the club that need our anger and scorn. To use it on this dept would be misplaced.
  21. What coach? We've had them before and they didn't work so we've gone with an anarchist collective. Each quarter the team will elect a leader who will decide the next quarter's aims and objectives. All pay will go into a common pool, and each finals (under the glorious people's football club revolution) series will be coached by guy with the red and blue Mohawk.
  22. We got reamed because Chook-brain Mclean thought we'd been naughty when he appeared On The Couch. I expect that Jobe will be shot, and Essendon degregistered by 8am tomorrow.
  23. He's up to his eyeballs in the PED case at Essendon. Not a hope even if he begged for it.
  24. Reckon he has what it takes, and then some. Reckon he is also coming from a fair way back injury/fitness wise. Reckon he is a kid with a level head that will fix his so called problems (and I think most of them are from being 10 years old and being expected to lead in a D grade midfield). He's the least of our problems.
