Wouldn't mind getting him across from the hawks where he can't crack a game... only played 6 games with the since being drafted but is 22yrs and a decent sized midfielder. Believe he won the j.j. liston last year and playing well in the vfl grand final today.

Not to say I'm against using those top picks at the draft, but I recall people wanting us to take Scully and Butcher at 1 & 2 in '09. Would prefer to trade one pick out for a known quality midfielder.

in the interest of providing unrealistic trades for shits and giggles, here's my effort. Pick 2 and 21 for dangerfield. Pick 3 for Shiel and Frost (would prefer treloar but think gws would want more) or alternatively pick 3 for gc pick 8 and 14 (blatently stolen from another poster) -> pick 8 for mitchell -> pick 14 to be used at the draft so out goes; pick 2, 3, 21, in comes; dangerfield, shiel and frost or dangerfield, mitchell and pick 14

I might be biased but seems like a very high price to pay. Would hope they would send their first rounder back to us if that eventuated. Danger, Pick 10 --> Demons Pick 2&3 --> Crows Depends how the crows sees this draft really and if pick 3 is any better than pick 10. It's probably too far weighted in our favour actually. Maybe give them our second rounder as well. IN: Danger, Pick 10, OUT: Pick 2, Pick 3, Pick 21 Hmmm, still don't think they would be happy. I just want to see us still have a selection in the 1st rounder to keep bringing in quality young talent.

You're right, we can't use compo picks at F/S bidding. Compo picks are allocated a week after the F/S bidding meet takes place. I think what she was driving at is if we were to have picks 2 & 3, then we could bid on him with P2 knowing we have P3 (compo) to still take the next best player if Collingwood don't match it. We won't be bidding on him.

WJ, From memory you may have a contact within the club. Recent posts of yours suggest that you're less than impressed with Roos and now you have suggested that a few personnel need to be replaced. Is this based on actual knowledge you have or just your observations from the outside? Which MFC staff members are you referring to? I find it staggering that a handpicked team by Roos may be falling apart at the seams already. In contrast to some of our playing list, off field stability is absolutely crucial for us. Hopefully I'm just reading too much into this...

What do people think about Daniel Gorringe? (Pick 10 in the 2011 draft, 22yrs, 200cm, 96 kg, 20 games) I don't profess to be a talent scout but in the games I have seen him play he appeared quite dangerous in a ruck/forward role and may be a suitable replacement for Clark. Others here may have more knowledge about him and the Suns that could perhaps enlighten us, but to me (on the surface at least) he appears to be behind other talls such as Smith, Dixon, Day, Lynch and Nicholls. I do understand he has had a few injury concerns as well (ankle?). Believe he is contracted for next year but a lure of constant game time might convince him to seek a trade. Second round pick perhaps?
