  1. Don't count out ANB as a future captain. Has a long way to go, but oozes leadership and hardness.
  2. A VERY light night of training. Almost more for show than anything else. A great night by the club. Plenty of support there and a number of non MFC families showing up to give their kids the experience. Players were wonderful at engaging the kids. Certainly rusted on a couple of little supporters in our household. Had a chat to Petracca. He is feeling strong in the knee and looks in great nick.
  3. TDI I spotted you having a chat with Matt Jones. Any insight?
  4. A bit hard to be closed down at Gosch's. I went past as they were warming up. Vince, Oscar Mc, Max King in rehab running. Am sure Saty and a couple of the others get down there this morning
  5. Boys were back on the track this morning, with Tappy amongst the group.
  6. I popped past for 5 mins on the way to work. It was interesting that all from the leadership group were on the track with the young guys. Brendan Macca being shown around by Mahoney. No Tappy training with the group. I spotted Satyr from afar, so hoping for his full report!
  7. Obviously 'unofficial'. Saw them too. Half in their private training clothes. The Russian was there, as was Grimes, working with the young guys. Tappy, McKenzie and Pickles all there too.
  8. Could it be Roos the psychological master. Watts was out there, clubs were prepared to offer reasonably for him, but Roos has said, 'no you're my boy, I am backing you in'?!
  9. Yeah I get that feeling too. He seems to be getting more and more invested as each week passes. It doesn't hurt that he is seeing fruit from his labour, but to me his tone seems to have changed a bit. Especially this week through the Viney saga.
  10. The hands to control the ball as he was in the prone position. The fending off / running through this oncoming tackler as he got up. How good!
  11. This is a great combination. I like it.
  12. I popped in for about 15mins and Watts was right in the midst of that work. Running strongly, full drill work. I was interested that he was sharing drink bottles with the boys. As for Clark, no his running was about half to three-quarter paced. Nothing too onerous.
  13. Notice the MFC logo/watermark across the front, a subtle version of what is on the training tops.
  14. I only stopped for 10mins on my way past, but Viney was going full throttle. I know he has been managed of late, but he was very quick and agressive in the drill I saw. 4 on 4, offence/defence. He actually took Pickles Evans out with a heavy hit and they both had to step out of training for 5 mins. Tappy back with the rehabers. I wonder if it was a light day for him or something else. I suppose we'll know more later in the week.
  15. Boys were out on the track early this morning - warming up from before 9am. I didn't stick around for much. I was just on my way past but in order of importance: - The Toump does NOT have a new tattoo so hopefully Mrs Toump won't be demanding him back to Adelaide any time soon, although on the flip side he may still see the thread content continue as above debating his manliness. For what it is worth, I think he'll be a rippa. - Reilly, Dawes, Kent all doing stationary kicking with Miller. Kent left pretty early so don't think you'll get much a report on him And that is about it! Looking forward to reading the more detailed reports later

  17. Didn't we beat Collingwood in the NAB cup 2 years ago in Neelds first year? Gives no indication at all.
  18. All the talk about Toumpas' inside vs outside ability, it was interesting to see probably his best game against Geelong in the wet - a real in close affair. In close in nature but not close in any other way!
  19. I popped past for a bit. As others have posted, it is amazing to see how involved with training Roos is. He is right in the thick of it, instructing and teaching the players what he wants. The Assistants hardly get a look in. Watts came off with what looked to be a bit of a groin niggle. Spent plenty of time with the Physio. It didn't look anything to worry about. More just a niggle/twinge to be careful of.
  20. It looked like most of the senior players were back, easing in to it - Jamar, Jones N, Garland
  21. Rode past quickly. Boys are now on the footy oval at Gosch's.
  22. As I posted on the above thread - I stopped for a quick moment on my way in to town only to see Maxy walking very slow laps with his right hammy heavily strapped. What a shame.
