  1. The thing I love about last year is that the following games that we lost, we were in positions to get close to win the games. Round 2 - GWS Round 3 - ADE Round 9 - Port Round 11 - St Kilda Round 15 - Ess If we address the lapses/capitulations we're going to get close to 10-12 wins this year. Quite excited by this.
  2. So... I really wasn't going to pipe in... but I feel the need to as someone who has had/still has depression. We're assuming that Garry is using "depression" as a cover for his relationship with Nicky Brownless. Let try and make this as black and white as possible...even though its a bloody grey. 1. If reports are true, Garry Lyon has been having a relationship with Nicky Brownless. Both Garry and Nicky were single when engaging in their relationship. 2. Where the "outrage" has come from is that its because its a "mates ex" that is involved. Does it suck? Absolutely. Is it illegal? No. I don't know about any of you, but my best mate is married to an ex I had back in Uni. Did it suck at the time? Yes. But...he's still my best mate, and I see both every week and couldn't be happier for them. 3. Regardless of anyone's view on Garry and Nicky and the merry go round of partners, in all of this, Garry may also have depression. To think that he doesn't and it is a cover, I believe is naive. I hate to think what it would be like to have depression and live in the public spotlight and then have your relationship being judged by every Tom Dick and Harry. Beyond Blue reports 45% of individuals will suffer from a bout of depression at some stage in their life. Based on what is portrayed in the media, I don't believe Garry has done anything that wrong. He may simply be an individual with depression and conincidently had one relationship end and moved on to another.
  3. So I came onto his post expecting to read about Clayton Oliver...I've just read a whole bunch of dribble about Cotchin, Deledio and Selwood. Sheesh.
  4. Just saw on his Twitter that Jake and his partner welcomed a baby girl less than a week ago. I'm a glass half full guy. Jake gets more time to bond with his daughter. More important things than kicking a bit of leather around on some grass.
  5. I love the tackle at the ~8 min mark of Varcoe being tackled. Then camera goes to Buckley and you can see him mouth "What the f*** is that?". I won't lie, my first reaction was to chuckle and imagine Buckley thinking that he just saw Watts tackle someone.
  6. I'm nonplussed. If we're to become a good side we are to have the mentality of any team, anywhere, any time. I believe this is the attitude being instilled and am happy for it. We'll be right.
  7. Nah, soft as butter. Can't see Roos or Goodwin wanting him.
  8. Awesome! Pick 3! If we get a player half as good as Colin Sylvia, we'll be laughing :D Sorry couldn't help myself.
  9. Kind of a moot point isn't it? 200 games? The fact that they would have had to play more or less every game since 2005 to reach 200 games. That means only Sylvia, Mclean and Molan could have reached it. I think we've got a good lot in Salem, Petracca and Brayshaw. I'd be surprised if one of them didn't go on to be a champion of our club.
  10. Freeman confirmed to Saints. Not sure of details. Paperwork being lodged as I type. Source: Coterie member of the Saints.
  11. Does it matter that Melksham gave away the 50 metre penalty?
  12. Can't see Carlton giving up pick 1.
  13. I know Demonlanders are going to eat this up. Anyone find it amusing, or worrying that on the AFL website, there are "Get excited by" videos for all the players moving clubs, but not one for Melksham. There is a Get excited by: Jetta Bennell Henderson Dangerfield Leuenberger Dean Gore! - he hasn't even played an afl game ....but not one for Melksham. I can't help but laugh...and by laugh, I mean curl up in a ball and cower in a corner.
  14. So surely this is purely about getting the best outcome. Scenario where Howe, pick 6 goes to GC for pick 3, and pick 22. Melb uses pick 22 to land Melksham or Kennedy Melb uses pick 25 to land Melksham or Kennedy Melb is left with pick 3, Melksham and Kennedy Scenario where Howe goes to Coll for Kennedy Melb uses pick 25 to land Melksham Melb is left with pick 6, Melksham and Kennedy I know what I'd prefer.
  15. Perhaps Giants are just holding out for a bit to wait for a few other cards/draft picks to drop. Hopefully we've just had a whisper...we might be able to offer you a bit extra for a Bugg/Treloar combo. Just wait until we offload Howe. Hopefully we can land North's first rounder or even second rounder. It could be a our first rounder this year, next year and throw in a second round pick for a Bugg/Treloar trade. Just me dreaming. Reality is quite unlikely.
  16. I think you'll find we'll use Essendon's 3rd round pick to snare another player. Possibly Bugg?
  17. I'd trade our 1st rounder this year, 1st rounder next year and howe for Prestia and Omeara. Heck, if they ask nicely, I'll throw in terlich.
  18. I think what you'll find is we'll try to recruit casboult to play further up the ground, where his goal kicking woes won't hurt us as much. Have him play CHF, swing round with his long penetrating kick to hogan one out, and Hogan will be laughing all day long. Thats my view on it.
  19. Yep, that's the results with the salary cap and draft rules the way they are. Imagine what the results would be without them. Collingwood, West Coast, Adelaide up the top every year with the best players, facilities and staff. Don't underestimate the power that the salary cap has.
  20. Cam Mooney on the run home today said "MFC offered 1.2 for 5 years, and Paddy knocked it back". I really hope Adelaide do listen to all club offers. Think we can offer a better package than Geelong could. Especially if they are expecting to get Henderson from the blues.
  21. What is this..."skype" that everyone speaks of?
  22. While I agree with this, there are a few things that shouldn't be discounted. 1. People who aspire to be a senior coach are a different kettle of fish. They're ambitious, driven and often have big egos/something to prove. 2. Macca being ousted the way he was and seeing what the Doggies have done, I believe would leave a bad taste in his mouth. I'd reckon he'd want another crack, and would do things differently. 3. Money money money. People will come for the money. Essendon have plenty of it. Roos coming to us is a perfect example of that. Thats all.
  23. Not sure if posted somewhere else. But good to see his legs are building up: https://instagram.com/p/6wxTtZDezz/
  24. I liked Bizzell
  25. Don't even need to read any of the posts. The answer should be no.
