I think we need to look at this from a different view. Lets take our "Demon" goggles off for a sec. Here is a 24 year old kid. He's potentially looking at a jail term. He's essentially unemployed. He's obviously going through a tough time. He seems from the outside a bit lost. Its very easy for us to feel the aggrieved now that he is no longer a Dee, but lets wish him the best and hope he gets the guidance and support he needs as a young man to live a good life. Lets show some compassion for a fellow person who is in a tough situation.

For those of you complaining about the lack of updating of the website....a simple solution. Call up the MFC, and volunteer your time to ensure the website is up to date. Let me know when you do this because then I might go and nitpick at every spelling mistake or the fact the membership number isn't updated every hour. Sheesh. Get a grip people. The fact that you know some of the information isn't accurate is a sign you don't actually NEED the MFC website to give you the information. You're going to get the bragging rights when you feel the need to prove someone wrong that max gawn is 208 cm instead of 205 cm. *slow clap*

The membership number is often a delayed indication of how we went in a previous season, with the exception of some big name recruits (ie Cousins, Judd etc) switching clubs. I'd reckon we'd stay around 35K- 37K mark. If we go well next year, I'd expect to see us creep over 40K the year after (2014).

So the "who am I" topic offered me a bit of inspiration. Thus, I thought I'd start a little competition for some fun. As an incentive, I'll give in $20 to the winner. Quite simply, name the 22 you believe will be playing round 1 in 2013. Will Toumpas or Viney get a gig? Will Taggert be there? What about Rodan, Byrnes or Pedersen? I mean no disrespect to Dean Kent, or any of our draftees. However history tells us that not many players emerge outside of the mid second round of a National Draft. This doesn't mean some haven't, and doesn't mean that Kent won't. However, I'm just being a bit reserved about the excitement of this. But I surely do hope he does emerge to be something great.

Unless every team plays each other twice with 1 home and 1 away game each, the "draw" will never be fair.

I love how they are "repeat" 1km runs. As opposed to the simple 1 1km run that I struggle to do.

So I hadn't really had time to reflect on the off season changes until last night. I opened up the MFC website and went through the list. And boy did it fill me with some satisfaction. A few things first: This isn't a dig at departing/departed players. This doesn't mean I believe we'll make the 8 next year. But with Morton, Bennell, Gysberts, Martin gone, its a release of anxiety and frustration for many years. I go through our list and outside of those that are new/haven't been blooded yet, there aren't many I wouldn't be happy with going out onto the field of battle for the MFC every week. Why? Because they give it their all. They put their hardness and their soul into it. And that is all I can ask for from my beloved boys each week. Anyone else feel like a massive weight has been lifted off the team? It just feels like things are changing for the better. Ps. I know its offseason, so I may just be having withdrawal symptoms.

Complete opposite of what leadership qualities are. True leaders get the supporting cast regardless.

Wasn't a huge fan of his disposal, but all I feel is a sense of sadness. Could never question his courage and his heart. All the best Barts.
