Hang on, isn't the comp run by the AFL?

Poll - Demonland Demographics
For me, there are two surprising facts the data reveals so far: only three percent of 'Landers admit to being under 20 years of age, and WCW hasn't declared her age publicly. Top line analysis: Given the nature of some of some the discussions, I would have thought people aged 12 would make up about 50 percent of 'Landers, and WCW is way too self-effacing. Love yous all, QD.

CHANGES: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
FWIW . . . with a few exceptions that continually get exposed as dumb footballers, individual players are not the problem. The comp has broken down our game style. Freeo and Swans, because they are well coached and have good players, perfected interrumpere stilus. I'm not an expert by any means, but I would have thought our style flaws are relatively easily addressed. For example, let's focus on sticking tackles and handling the ball cleanly under pressure. Improvements in these two areas will go a long way to fixing our forward line woes. BBB has lost form for sure, but he's not going to regain it in a substandard second tier comp, nor in our senior team with the ball being bombed into the arms of McCartin all night long either.

CHANGES: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
Hey MS. Also caught a bit of the game. Problem is the Magoos are so far below the intense standard of the AFL, that we get false readings on players. For example, Weed plays well at level, but the pressure and intensity is probably half of what he gets in the AFL. He gets badly exposed at senior level, poor guy.

CHANGES: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
Wow wee. The Deez kicked nine goals for the game. Two of them were a direct result of Picket's work - both of which no other player in the club could have executed. Outside of BF, he was the only Dee forward that remotely looked like dragging us over the winner's line.

I shouldn't say this . . . but I wish that gas cylinder . . . .

Tasmanian AFL Team
FFMMDD . . . fancy South Melbourne opposing it. This is the mob that has had, conservatively, the best part of a quarter of a billion dollars poured into them over 40 years. And sorry, how much did Melbourne get over the same period of time? And as for Cochrane . . . the first syllable of his name says it all.

NON-MFC: Round 11, 2022
Is there anyway the League can introduce nil all draws? That'd be a rule change worth supporting.

Thanks everyone for your views. Really important to know what is going on in the Magoos for us folk who cannot get to the games.

Ludicrous: Idiotic or unthinkable, often to the point of being funny. Sums up most of this thread really D11. (Reminder to self . . . stop reading the madness on 'Land and write your uni assignment.)

CHANGES: Rd 12 vs Sydney
Hey D11. Spot on. There's a chit-load of rcap in the footy media about who is the best big back in the comp. Sometimes May gets a mention. He is, IMHO, easily the best, and most influential (in a team sense) in the comp by a fair margin. I grew up watching Dench, Moore and Southby in the '70s . . . arguably the golden age of post-war fullbacks. May's form over the last two years puts him in that company. Career wise, he's behind that group as they were brilliant for 10 years plus. But over the last two years, his form is equivalent to their best IMHO.

CHANGES: Rd 12 vs Sydney
Some super bizarre observations in this thread. So in the spirit of '09, here are my well thought through changes: Out: everyone In: anyone who can get a kick. And Goody is skating on thin ice.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Hey JG . . . your point is well made. I'm not suggesting a dominant ruck is 'premiership mandatory', merely that having one can make the different. But it's not a bad start. One could argue, for example, that St. Kilda forfeited a premiership 10 years ago because they didn't have one. Conversely, it could be argued that without Doyd, Footscray don't win in '16. I like your thinking though.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Geelong have been phukkkked since Ottens retired. That's how important a good ruck can be. Persisting with substandard Stanley has cost them at least one grand final appearance. As far as Buddy goes . . . inconsistent record in September at best.

Farewell Luke Jackson
I agree. I'd trade Luke out for Meth Coke's first round pick in 2022. I would also require their first round pick in '23, '24, '25, '26, '27 and '28.
