  1. This . . . everything about this post . . . everything . . .
  2. Hey A F, Fair point about going early, and I accept that the loss of Dunkley was significant. I was listening to Daisy Pearce this morning on SEN (one of the few top-line analysers in the commentariat IMHO), and she nailed it (wish I had thought of this last night when I wrote on this board after the game). The Dogs have no plan B, let alone a plan C. She's right, and it's quite obvious in retrospect (shows why I'm not top-line). The Tiges applied a slow Chinese burn (are we allowed to say that anymore?) over 60 minutes that strangled the Bully's usual game, closing down their flick and run style. Once that was dowsed, the Dogs didn't have another tactic. Top-line contenders usually have a way to counter opposition tactics and swing momentum. The Dogs, to me anyway, didn't really have any answers once their flick-it-around style was contained. Go Deez!

All the players with whom I have serious doubts [censored] themselves last night in the spotlight . . . Bruce (deary, deary me . . . their version of Chris Dawes, only much worse), Cordy (doesn't get to enough contests to kill the ball), Duryea (c-grader that played in a premiership surrounded by really good players), Hannan, Martin, Naughton, Schache (a gamble that hasn't paid off and shouldn't play another AFL game), JJ (what has happened to him?), West, Scott. Naughton still has time on his side, but the others either won't or can't improve. Their only first choice player not available last night, who makes a significant difference, is English. They have a respectable mid-field bunch, but field seriously flawed talls in both the back and front half.
  4. The ol' joke comes to mind . . . what would you do if Jesus Christ came to Glenferrie Road . . . ?
  5. What is this sort of analysis doing on 'Land? Mods . . . please.
  6. Neither the Deez or the Dogs are lay-down mesires this round. Would be completely unsurprised if both go 6-1.
  7. At least she hasn't come out and said we are going to "do" finals.
  8. Geelong gave up three first rounders for a 28 year old, downhill skiing, sook. Two first rounders for a 22 year old who was demonstrating everything we need at the club, both on and off field, was pretty cheap by comparison.
  9. I wonder if he'll end up being better than both, injuries notwithstanding. Injuries really cruelled Rigga and to a lesser extent, Andrew.
  10. Still love Jesse . . . rip it up Brother.
  11. I watched the whole thing and thought Trac was marvellous in the face of mammoth idiotism. The gold was what happened next . . . Jack R explained to Slobbo how the game is played like he was talking to an eight year old with a learning impairment. The tragic irony was that Slobbo wasn't even ashamed. He had no idea Jack was laughing at his mindless vandalism of renaissance thought straight in his face. (Maybe I'll run into Slobbo at an AA meeting one day.)
  12. Smith coached Brasso who coached Peter Giles who clocked Gary Pert in 1985 who became our CEO.
  13. What's the record for more than one Christian winning the Brownlow in any given year?
  14. Nichols and Chamberlain not umpiring us often enough.
  15. I met Clyde at a Grand Final function about five years ago and had a long chat with him. What a gentlemen. And he was in great shape. Always and forever a Deez man, followed us very closely and thought that our recruiting, playing style and coaching strategy with Roos back then was spot on.
  16. If we had had two Pedos we would have been at 68 percent and firing.
  17. I'm usually in the south of France in April each year so my chalet is generally on loan to family and friends. I traded out of the Rangy 18 months ago (it was already a year old with 10k on the clock) and leased me the new Porsche Cayenne. I was a bit nervous when Covid hit that I'd have to keep it for three years, but as life is back to normal here in Brighton, I should be able to flip it in the usual 24 months. The partners in the firm are now on board with Charles and have stopped calling him Nieta. Oh, and what's this thing called a 'weekend'? (And well done number two Ol' Chap.)
  18. Bit rich coming from a mob that had no right to Carey and Longmire.
  19. Interesting coming from a mob with whom Ben Cousins and Justin Charles played.
  20. Kossi allegedly sniping is a bit much coming from a mob that gave the game Mal Brown, Neil Balme, Kevin Sheedy, Mick Malthouse, Jack Dyer, Robert McGhie, Alex Rance (eye gouger), Rex Hunt and Don 'Mopsy' Fraser.
  21. State league affiliate: GWS Giants (VFL) This weekend: GWS Giants v Footscray at Blacktown International Sportspark, April 22, 7.10pm AEST All eyes were on big-name recruit Jesse Hogan, the key forward booting four goals and taking 11 marks from 14 disposals in the Giants' 72-point loss to Western Bulldogs.
  22. Can we get three premierships out of this list? That's the benchmark for greatness over the last 20 years.
  23. With all these five year deals, I just hope Corda's not scrutinising our long-term salary cap arrangements.
