  2. I’m putting $1000 on Luke Jackson getting the NAB rising star this week. Nicks has flagged we'll be younger this week. Let's see if selection backs him up. Persisting with Gibbs is a complete waste. Trade him back to Carlton for peanuts. We are in diabolical trouble. Game plan from St.Bernadettes year 3 marks up playbook. I think a winless season and Nicks is shown the door IMO. We need a full clean out of coaches and Fagan needs to throw HUGE coin at a proper coaching setup. It’s just hit me. The realisation that the best player at our club is a 35yo mother of two? Invite Blight back to the club as a mentor for Nicks. If anyone in the media, social media or anywhere else asks again why Gibbs can't get a game, please refer them to this week's performance. Has Lever played in Adelaide against the Crows yet? Last weeks embarrassment has finally made the club really go into rebuild mode. Prediction : Tex to "run through" Jake Lever at some point. Crows making EIGHT(!) changes. Two debutants. Gerard and Robbo both very complimentary of the selections with saying that it’s clear the Crows are finally accepting of the rebuild and that Gibbs, Atkins and Knight would all be very worried about their futures. If they actually won would there be enough players available to provide the gatorade shower? Dees are ripe for the picking too. Excellent, at least 3 of those players dropped should never ever play a game for the club again.
  3. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
  4. Is there are dumber bunch of footballers running around anywhere ATM?
  5. He's going okay in the scratch matches apparently. According to the supporter forums, a lot of Port supporters wanted him in the team tonight.
  6. Top analysis Binman. Another clue for you all . . . I spent around an hour trawling the Port forums last night and I would estimate that eight out of 10 supporters expect the Deez to win comfortably. They are rabid with Ken and his selection choices. And the 'Hoff is the main target of their anger. Every club has their whipping boy, and Justin is theirs.
  7. Max Hang on - if Lycett is still unavailable - who would be better in the ruck against Gawn - Ladhams, Hoff, Hayes? Max Gawn will beat us singlehandedly. Even Buzza would've been a better option than current form Westhoff. At least you know he would've gone at Gawn with some aggression. Gawn the big b*tch will be rubbing his moist [censored] knowing he could ruck just with his ******* head and still win the hit outs 100 to 0. Ladhams will be slaughtered by Gawn. I’ve got the VC on Gawn in SuperCoach. Melbourne by 60. Gawn will skullfu** us. Gawn would still be embarrassed by the way Lycett pulled his pants down last season and I expect he will go 100 mph from the first bounce down, so let's hope Ladhams and who ever his back up will be are up for it. Gawn please use no lube on Ladhams. I'm expecting 100+ hitouts. Gawn will rape us. Melbourne by 7 goals. We'll win 3 more games for the year and come 10th. Gawn will pillage Ladhams. We might as well have the centre bounce in their forward line. Gawn will do what Ryder did except he will play the whole game and their mids will destroy us. Good luck being a defender this week. Ken Season over. Ken's learned nothing. Sack Hinkley. Old Kenny is the Human embodiment of putting a square peg in a round whole. So let's recap: Too short in defence, Too slow in the middle, Playing injured/tired players, Picking experienced players that are way out of form, Only 1 genuine tall forward, Undermanned in the ruck. In summary, what can we take away from this? [censored] if I know. Sounds like our Ken. Yeah, our season is done. We'll lose the next 4 because Hinkley has learned nothing, and we'll then battle all season only to end up 9th. Sack Hinkley. Tipping Melbourne. Pretty safe tip now. Sack Hinkley. Classic Hinkley mentality - why bother trying to exploit an opposition's weakness when you can be equally as sh*t as them in that area? He really is a do nothing coach. I would love to know if Ken overrules the other coaches to our detriment. Mr 4 rounds of annual coaching ability is done for the year. Nothing like doing the same thing over & over and expecting a different result. Classic Ken. Everything else Surely Watts gets a shot soon, he’s exactly what we need with McKenzie and Marshall both out. Our defence is gonna get absolutely destroyed. Melbourne have a lot of slow clearance machines as well, so I think Rockliff and Wines will go ok. Port and the Dees should play for the Jack Watts memorial cup this week because I'm pretty sure he's dead. I think Rockliff in is ok vs Melbourne due to them essentially being a slow, big bodied midfield. Winning these next 4 games should put us in good stead for what is yet to come. If I wasn't loyal to the club Id be betting my house on Melbourne. I am keen to see what Watts can bring. Cannot be worse than the Hoff. If Jack Watts’ foot is still attached you’d assume he comes in. Not sure how it will go with wines and rock vs the explosive Oliver and Petracca. Christian Petracca is in incredible form and will eat Tom Rockliff (and Wines and Boak for that matter) for breakfast. This is the key ... But Melbourne are up there with Port in being their own worst enemy. I think the boys are stung from last week's loss, and will win this. How many lives has Justin Westoff got? Westhoff kicked 5 against the Dees last year. So there. Hahaha, Westhoff rewarded for poor form. What a sh#tshow. Gonna need a few drinks 4 this game.... and still wont make it enjoyable. I'd drop Ollie but they won't so if playing against his old mate Viney doesn't drag something out of him he should go water skiing forever and forget football.
  8. They had a bloody good forward line. Irwin, McMahon, Quinlan (although he was probably ruck-roving in those days), Conlan and BBB.
  9. I was definitely there . . . but don't remember much about the game. Without looking up the record book, did Bobby Beecroft kick a bag? I have a feeling Biff might have ended up at full-forward. Spud might have lumbered around and didn't do much. Don't remember what Wells, Fowler and Flower did . . . they were probably out best players that year from memory. Graham Gaunt . . . did he play? Fitzroy were pretty flash in '79, were a better team than Collingwood IMHO who just missed winning the flag.
  10. Clarkson . . . ironic isn't it? A cheat naming and shaming a fellow cheat.
  11. Hey EO. Most weeks I obtain the info from FB, supporter forums similar to Demonland and BigFooty. This week it was mostly BF. https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/round-8-melbourne-versus-the-brisbane-lions.1243439/page-7
  12. Yeah, an interesting one Deeman. I would have thought Vulture Street as well. The address according to their website is Stanley Street.
  13. They come from a variety of sources most weeks. Facebook supporter forums, BigFooty and supporter forums such as Demonland. This week's came mostly from Big Footy. https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/round-8-melbourne-versus-the-brisbane-lions.1243439/page-7

  14. Max Gawn could be an issue both in the ruck and around the ground. Gawn will destroy him in the ruck and around the ground. Max Gawn will feast this week. Not much we can do about that. Around the ground Gawn actually will damage us. If Gawn does completely dominate centre bounces/stoppages, you play man on man with the opposition players around Gawn to restrict the smallls taking it away with little pressure on them. I hope Archie has been practising his spoils his week - if he's able to mitigate Gawn's marking it'll be huge. Archie has a massive task ahead of him. Almost want him to basically tag Gawn around the ground and not let him dominate in that area. The Demons are pretty much relying solely on the brilliance of Gawn and Petracca and those two are playing that well at the moment that they are quite literally able to carry the Demons. Gawn, Petracca, Oliver and Bennell all fit and firing simultaneously can challenge any side in the league. Everything else I'm not confident about this one. I think Melbourne might surprise a few this season after their terrible start and this is their statement game. I can see Melbourne winning this one. They have no real key forwards of concern but their smalls and their pace generally could worry us at Metricon. Petracca will be the big factor of who wins. Oliver can also lift the Demons and carry them home. I am genuinely concerned that we don’t play Metricon particularly well. I’m really looking forward to watching Harley Bennell. That guys been to hell and back and deserves any success that comes his way. If Harley Bennell can stay fit for the rest of this season and find some form he could be the game breaker for them. Such an insanely good talent. Viney was very good from what I saw last game too. Interesting they brought Jones in. Jones is a big in for us. Old and slow. Our boys in the middle should run rings around him. I don't think the Jones inclusion is such a good thing for us. He is an old head and in a slog, he can work smarter. Key match-ups McInerney & Smith v Gawn & Jackson Lyons v Petracca Berry v Viney Neale v Oliver Zorko v Harmes McCluggage v Jones Robinson v Langdon Bailey v Brayshaw
  15. Gawn - best since Dempsey? Viney - still a worry Petracca - continues good season Jetta - changing his role May - really dumb footballer McDonald - growing in statue Salem - still under achieving Hibberd - probably earned money Melksham - talent not realised Fritsch - better playing higher Jackson - should play weekly Pickett - exciting and important Bennell - our best disposer vandenBerg - not the worst Brayshaw - what has happened? Oliver - disastrous disposal again Hannan - some interesting cameos Weideman - headology the problem Harmes - goodness gracious me Langdon - becoming a key Others - missed by Joeboy Goodwin - was only Hawthorn
  16. List wise . . . the half time position says at least as much about where the Dorks are as is does about us. They are in a world of pain.
  17. "We know that". Count how many times he says that in a match.
  18. Scully needs to stick tackles and hit targets at a minimum. Melbourne are a pretty physical side and with 3 ex Dees playing for us, I expected the game to have a fair bit of niggle in it. Melbourne are little like North to me; love to get real physical regardless of where the game is at and sometimes to the detriment of their movement. Looks like we get to see Scully squib a few more contests! Patton looks out of shape too, body is wrecked, move him on. (Selection) Very frustrating. We continue to play Henderson and Scully. Gawn has constantly pantsed BB (McEvoy) over his career, and we have no one even close to Gawn's height apart from Ceglar on our entire list but if he's injured so be it. Hendo, Scully , Smith and Morrison in same team. Melbourne have nothing to match it. If we can't beat Melbourne then serious questions need to be asked of the club across the board. At the moment I'd settle for Melbourne's game plan, it's manic and not very effective but at least it looks like they are doing something. If we get trounced by Melbourne, then I would hope for a clean out and just play the younger guys. The Scully experiment is done now. He can run all day sure, but he is just about the softest player I have seen put on a hawks jumper. Melbourne can’t score either so we are in for another eye sore. Get ready for “worst game of all time” media reports post game. The loser of this game is going to cop it. Melbourne are super slow and not skilful. They have Gawn who is awesome. But aside from him they are not a good side. I think we will win. But the score line might challenge that Richmond Swans beauty. Viney, Oliver, Petracca, Brayshaw, Harmes is a very good midfield. May and Lever. They've got talent everywhere. That midfield has terrible skills. Viney, Oliver and Brayshaw are accumulators but burn merchants. They are not damaging. Petracca can be dangerous - until half time when he runs out of puff every week. Terribly unfit but talented. Gawn is quite easily the best player in either side and will tear Ceglar to shreds though. Hasn’t done much yet but have you seen some of the searing pressure that young Pickett puts on? It will be an interesting matchup between him and dare I say Dimma. Hawks need a smaller backline. Especially against Melbourne who have no key forwards. Petracca has been tremendous this season. No running out of puff and is putting in four quarter efforts. He's a different player now. The rest are tough nut hackers though, much like Mitchell, Worpel and to a lesser extent JOM. Their midfield is the equal of ours in terms of hardness (JOM, Mitch, Shiels and Worpel = Viney, Oliver, Harmes and Brayshaw). They are using their most dynamic player in the middle and he's been huge this season. We need to throw Wingard back in there or around the packs at least to match it. They've also got Gawn who will destroy Ceglar, and have some KPF targets to kick to. Weids And McDonald have played like 2 and a half good games since the end of 2018. Fritsch caused our defence issues last time.
  19. Loved what Weightman did last night . . . and it shows that many posters on 'Land were spot on in November last year. Having said that, I'm convinced we got it right with our early picks in 2019 . . . although time will obviously be the better judge of that.
  20. Give them the whole player list in return for King, Rowell and Rankin.
  21. with so many 'Landers saying 'no', I'm inclined to think it's a good idea.
