  1. Enjoy the day fellow Dees, would love to be there but long trip from Perth. Hope we get 10k fans through the gate and hope it is a lot of new Dees supporters from the Casey area who head along and entrench us in the area for the future.
  2. AFL Predictions: Brownlow Medal: Trent Cotchin Coleman Medal: Travis Cloke Rising Star: Olly Wines Grand Finalists: Collingwood and Hawthorn Premiers: Collingwood Wooden Spoon: GWS or Western Bulldogs Biggest AFL Story of the Year: Golden Boy Hird resigns as Bombers season from hell continues MFC Predictions: B&F: Jack Grimes Leading Goalkicker: Dawes & Howe Best First Year Player: Viney Most Improved: Watts Final Ladder Position: 12 Biggest MFC Story of the Year: Contrary to Caroline Wilson's opinion- The Priority pick saga of 2009 worked out for Melbourne in the long run, with the form of Jack Viney & Dom Barry along with VFL team of the year Full Forward Jesse Hogan showing the young Dees are well placed for 2014 and beyond. A surge by the young talent laden Dees team finishing 2013 strongly from the middle of the season on the back of hard nose disciplined footy has long suffering Dees fans licking their lips at the thought of what the future holds.
  3. Trenners did all the base work before Christmas and whist being unable to do load bearing work whilst in the moonboot he still would have been doing interval sessions in the pool and on the bike. He will not be coming from as far back as some think. A solid month of training in March and 2/3 weeks playing full games at VFL level and he will be ready. Clark missed out on getting those base km's into the legs pre-christmas but he does not pay through the midfield. IHNI what kind of programme the club will have him on before he started running but would safely assume he will have done a fair amount of endurance work in the pool and on the bike, which would have transferred once he started running. I take a fair bit of heart hearing they have him doing sprints now. Would not mind betting the FD have him doing a mini pre-season, yes he is starting from a long way back but not playing through the midfield will help him. In a perfect world he would have been coming off a full pre-season but think the club will do wahts best and I think he will be back by Round 3 at the latest and would I suspect play 1 game at Casey where if all goes well e will come straight back in
  4. Not sure how it works in the Eastern states but the age for schooling works from July 1st to June 30th. Easier for me to explain is my two boys are seperated b 15 months in birth, however the oldest bo was born in April and the younger brother was born in July. The older boy started Grade 1 in 2012 and is now in year 2, while his brother is in Pre-Primary so if unlike his father the boys finish school the older by will be 17 when he finishes as will half of his class who were born in January to June 2006, while the other half born in July to December 2005 will be 18. So my younger boy will be 17 when he commences his last year in school but turn 18 in July and be that age when he finishes. Now when reading back through it, I am seem to be confused but hope others understand
  5. Wont go searching for my post but recall last year seeing him play for WA and was quite impressed by Hoges. Actually saw him play at Barry Bogan Oval (Sorry WA Demon) otherwise known as Bassendean for Claremont colts in the Preliminary Final and when I saw him that day with the presence, strut and arrogance to accompany his footy smarts and sthrong leads though god I hope we get this kid. There were many people watching the game that day who knew they were watching a special talent, I spoke with a few guys involved in recruiting and word at that stage was the Dogs were big into him, which on that display would have been crazy not to have been. Dare say with their deficincies in attack if they had a higher pick than us to trade to GWS, Hoges would be at the Whitten Oval now
  6. We know we are going to get these injuries probably better now than through the season. Sammy will have done a lot of base work getting km's into the legs. If he is taking weight off the legs for a couple of weeks he wont lose to much condition and can swim and bike. Could always have been worse, break in the leg and during the season would have been a bigger dent to us
  7. Yes so do I Robbie I know the AFL law is different to others where Precedence means something
  8. It may seem that way at the moment but in 2010 we and the public thought we were 2 to 3 years ahead of them and Meth Coast
  9. Can we let this go, we start playing footy tomorrow. Move on it is done and history.
  10. Thatsall fine but will the AFL hit them with at least a $500k fine for the actions of personell employed by the club, who's actions were not only prejudicial to the AFL but brought the game into disrepute
  11. Another four points putting us to at least 16 for the season at this point, is what I want out of this game. Followed by another postmatch discussion from Alves & Maclure about the new hard edged Dees being a side who are playing consistent hard footy week in week out.
  12. I am sick of this Stop playing the victim old dee and this is not just directed at you it is to others who think we will forever be known as Tankers who gives a fook we need to move on. Everyone in the AFL knows Carlton, Collingwood, Richmond & Hawthorn tanked. A few wins and a good couple of seasons and it will all be forgotten, the public perception changes. Hawks & Pies for obvious reasons are known as strong clubs, Richmond have in two years gone from being the worst team since Fitzroy to the next big thing, Carlton are still thought of as tankers but the microscope is now on the recruiting of a high profile coach. And to finish things off Essendon are now the butt of all jokes to do with drugs and Meth Coast's dodgy past is almost forgotten
  13. Please don't talk common sense on this thread, to many victims on this site who need to harden up and can't see beyond media hype and illogical scenarios. The proof in this case is not in the pudding but in the wording of the findings, they just need to look
  14. FFS just consider their investigatiion & outcome into Damien Oliver, move on & stop worrying. Clayton's investigation will be undertaken boxes ticked and do not believe for one minute our legal team will not have been all over this Speaking of soft it's not the club it's half of demonland HTFU
  15. The Tanking investigation is over, despite what others think the club has shown balls and dared the AFL to find us guilty, I respect Chris for taking a bullet for the club whatever about his comments playing a role in getting us here (which I don't belive is anything other than a conveniant AFL manipulated outcome). All I want to know now is who those Rats/ex board members were who stabbed the club in the back. I have just called up the wife and told her to buy some more memberships for the house to help cover the costs. Time to look towards the footy Go Dees!
  16. Please pass my thoughts on to them Bob. The damage they have done to the club is a disgrace. I want a club my grandkids can follow I want them to wear my Dees jumper when I am long gone, your friends or whatever they are to you tried to jeopardise that and for doing so I can never forgive them. Furthermore tell them not to hide behind any excuse of others bringing this upon the club. It was done and dusted and we were moving on before those with agendas raised it again. If they had the courage of their convictions and were so aghast at what allegedly occured they should have called upon any moral fibre within them to make a stand at the time. If anything we have strengthened our resolve and an us against them mentality out of all of this. As always Go Dees
  17. Love it the club is showing strength.
  18. Sorry Bob that attitude of being good little boys because we get handouts got us into this mess. No more we always held the Ace in this one Essendon have almost given us a full house Time to fight it may be expensive but we wont lose and if it goes to court AD will not be around any longer to hand out retribution
  19. We must fight this to the end, the club will survive if we fight to the end. We will be no more tarnished then those who tanked/list managed before us. If you put your hand up and PG then you become the tarnished club on the tanking issue, win in court and you fall in with Carlton/Collingwood/Hawthorn etc. As others have said sometimes you just have to fight and this is our time Contrary to other opinion the AFL does not hold the aces we do, we are prepared to go to court they do not wish for it to go that far. Don Mclardy at every opportunity has put it out there in a suttle way. We are now not their biggest problem My apologies in advance to Deelanders who don't condone foul language but this is how I feel on the matter "Fook em & bring it on"
  20. I meant to PM you a couple of weeks ago after the FA Cup tie. Followed the Toffees since I was given a jersey when I was four. Always worry about playing your lot in the Cup since you rolled us in around 92/93
  21. I am an Irish Catholic who hates Meth Coast more than I hate Glasgow Rangers such is my contempt for their club
  22. WYL my best mate is a Bombers fanatic, his nephew played for them up until last season. We watch every game between our clubs together with our kids who also wear their our club colours. When the Bombers get done by us he usually goes into a rage, remote controls get smashed and he becomes a sook. I enjoy that as I do every time we beat them but this is different, this goes beyond Essendon this will harm the game
  23. As a young footy supporter in the 80's my intense Hatred for the Hawks & Bombers spouted and grew. I agree with others sometimes it can be great to see other supporters wallow and cop a lot of heat over their club and my initial reaction when this was announced was thank christ we are off the back pages for a day or two. As more news came out I realised two things we will be off the back pages for a fair amount of time, but I also like many of you understand how bad it is when you as a supporter cop it from opposition supporters. I have a lot of empathy for the Bombers fans think back how you felt when in 2007 our future looked very bleak. All I wanted then was for my two sons and hopefully grand children to have a Dees team to follow. This is big make no mistake every Bomber fan will be coming to realise the worst case scenarios could see their club struggling for many years to come, depending upon how they fare they could even become a sponsorship no go area for years to come. That along with a massive debt and interest they will have with their new facilities could see them be looking for handouts for many years to come. I really hope for the sake of footy in general the worst case scenario of systematic doping being uncovered, players outed for two years and Essendon being unable to field a side for two years does not eventuate. Whilst I still hate the Bombers and always will it is not good for the game, fans or sport if this happens
