  1. He will not come nor will Choco or Rocket until Schwab is gone
  2. I hope the players watched that and see how he is hurting. As others said he made plenty of moves but a lot of the players were just shell shocked. This will take a lot to turnaround. No quick fix with this, it goes deeper than the coach and talking about experienced AFL coaches, Neil Craig needs to get greater involvement if he hasn't already
  3. My thoughts exactly but I just want to make sure before I bring it up next time I ring up and speak to the knobhead
  4. Yes my thoughts but just surprised hadn't heard anything and everything Hagdorn reports is just a rehash of one of Caro's or Robbos articles
  5. Has anyone heard anything of Todd Viney and Neeld having to be separated after last weeks game. I know most of what Kim Hagdorn says is absolute crap but on 6pr this morning Peter Bell, Karl Langdon & Hagdorn were discussing Melbourne and Hagdorn interjected with the rumour that there was a heated exchange between Neeld & Melbournes head of recruiting Todd Viney and they had to be separated before it ended up being a something serious. Hagdorn said Neeld is in trouble if you are falling out of favour with a member of the clubs Team of the century and they will lose tonight, next week to the Eagles and then Round 4 against the Giants who will beat them Neeld could be sacked, He then asked who do they get to coach or who would want to coach them. As I said Hagdorn is off the mark most of the time and I am not even sure that Viney is still our head of recruiting (thought Jason Taylor was now performing this role) but Hagdorn used the name Viney after saying the clubs head of recruiting. Has anyone heard anything along these lines
  6. I have two kids one has jumped ship to the Pies whilst the other remains loyal to the Dees, totally agree with you in the bolded part and if I don't see the 13th I hope my children and grand children get to see it and many others
  7. Great post P-Man pain fades but memories last forever, here's hoping there is an omen in the number 87 when we also started terribly but came home to make finals for the first time in my life. My greatest Dees memory shared with my father (not a Dees man) was the Footscray game in the last round when he cheered loudly when we made it. Hope you enjoy Saturday night P-Man and may your father RIP
  8. Said it at the time and stick by it apparently he was in the final 3 shortlist but we should have went for Hardwick. Whilst he was a first time senior coach he would not have allowed himself to be controlled.
  9. Or he took them from an underperformed team under Gary AYRES to destroy us in one of his first games as coach in 2004 when we were sitting pretty in the Top 4. Took his team to consecutive prelims in 2005/06 where they went down to a very strong Meth Coast side and followed up with consecutive finals appearances where they went out to late goals kicked against them by Buddy (vs Hawks) & Jack Anthony (vs Pies)
  10. Dont take this the wrong way or as me being another Dees fan who accepts mediocrity. I know we are on a long road to where we wish to be. While I would happily take a win, all I really want to see is effort, run followed by gut running, intensity, support your team mate and no shirking of any contests, everything looks after itself after that. This is what I expect from my team for the next 21 games
  11. Agree Old Dee I listened to him this morning and thought he was well measured in his views. I was expecting him to be gloating and saying I told you so but as you and rjay have said he seemed to hold back a bit
  12. Cheers for the insight and helping out the club Robbie and this echo's similar to stories I have heard from Dockers financial supporters. The Dockers fans with old South Freo roots are real hardnuts who have worked hard for their coin and come across as honest battlers, but I know a few of them have a substantial amount of coin but don't harp on about it. Like yourself they give for their love of their club CS & CC may need to review their people skills if we are to move forward and they really need to remember who supports and makes the club
  13. Nothing happens except we move on and do what other sides do start looking at the following week. To many times before we have done this and just falling back into a heap. It should not take embarrasment or public heat to motivate you as a player
  14. Rarely I agree with you WYL but spot on here Bud!
  15. The Dees wore that jumper when I started following them, we played Freo over her in WA a few years back as part of AFL Heritage round and wore that jumper. For me it is first choice as our clash jumper
  16. When you move to Perth & rub shoulders on a daily basis with their supporters, listen to the Perth media you will hate them and if you choose to jump ship you will jump on board the Dockers train.
  17. Karl Langdon was saying similar tonight that if Jack Watts was at another club he'd be a better player. Brad Hardie piped in with if we were looking at it now Watts would be a pick in the 30's but in fairness to Melbourne his info was if the Eagles had the first pick that year they also would have taken Watts, it was only later on they settled on Natanui
  18. reread post 30 toe to toe with a supporter during the 4th quarter
  19. I have a Pie in the house as well, and talk about the innocence of children. Both my boys have been Dees members from the day they were born, in 2010 my oldest boy was 4 and changed to the Pies because his best friend was a Magpies supporter. I had taken my boy to watch the Dees in Melbourne every year and every game they play in WA. In 2011 I took him to see the Pies play Freo in Perth which was his first game to attend as a Pies supporter watching them live. At that stage they were on the big roll of their season before losing to the Cats and they were awesome that night. As we walked away from Subi my boy said to me "Dad how come Melbourne never win when we watch them" I was stumped and had no answer.
  20. Stuie people are different and yes he is a great kid but fook I don't care anymore, Will Schofield's father died last year and he walked in told Woosha he wanted to play and honour his father and did. He is behind Watts in every facet of talent but can run he also has guts, heart, mongrel, desire and the right attitude
  21. Have to say Gonzo, I have never felt the way I do today, whilst we have been kicked from pillar to post before, yesterday has almost broke me and I am not a pessimist. We are loyal supporters and it because we care so much for this club, part of me agrees with the bolded above as the board seems to know we will dig deep and help out the club, but if by Round 4 this has not improved some form or drastic action is required. 4 memberships in our house and only 2 Dees fans amongst us, money donated here and there when the budget allows but if we don't improve that will be it until the team gets their house in order. I am furious, this mess is years in the making before the previous coach and board but that is not to eliminate any responsibility on anyone currently at the club, effort is not hard you can lose but you give your all I bleed red & blue and so should the players
  22. Ollie Wines will get it deservedly but Jack will get a nomination at very least this year
  23. I was gutted yesterday and absolutley devastated pretty much numb for the remainder of the day. I woke this morning and whilst the sun has come up and after a nights sleep, reality has sunk in - I now know if this does not turn around fast we are in serious trouble. In all honesty I can not think of life without the Dees, whilst watching footy will be enjoyable as I will have no mood swings affected by results, No MFC will be a big void in my life
  24. He has a game plan but for the sake of the club and his future he needs to realise if they are not buying in he needs to play one on one footy. I know the Hawks struggled to buy into Clarko's gameplan but their player group always brought the non negotiables and had some classy mids, which bought him time. Unfortunately the time for big decisions is getting closer
  25. Stuie we get the message but FFS you can't sack a coach after Round 1( plenty were calling for Baileys head after Round 1 -2010) And don't use the Hinkley's first game line. I like others are questioning Neeld after today but I now really am questioning the player group. If they don't know what they are doing it's an indictment on them either because they have had 18 months to learn it or they should have went to him and said look we are struggling with this we need to simplify it (who knows maybe that could occur now like it did with Freo in 2006). In regard to Hinkley he has a midfield head and shoulders above ours, he also had players running hard, putting their bodies on the line and bringing intensity. They are non-negotiables, Jack Viney, Matt Jones, Grimes & Clark brought those as did Blease for the short time he was on. Neeld changed things up a couple of times today and went man on man, we did okay for 10 or so minutes and on both occasions stopped the onslaught for a while. However Port had greater desire and ran off our players and basically wanted it more. There were times when we had greater numbers around the ball, or when the ball was kicked to space, Melbourne players stood guarding space and while I accept that is a component of a zone it doesn't stop our players making a decision to attack the ball, to many times they stand and wait for a team mate to do it but the opposition player runs hard and gets to the ball or the contest. I think it's one of the reasons we struggle at kick outs due to lack of run and just waiting for the ball to come. This is the reason why Viney stood out for us today he ran and made the decision to attack the ball. In a nutshell our players are dumb and maybe Neeld needs to re-evaluate this and just play simple man on man footy. So whilst I am concerned deeply after today I also know Neeld is aware he only has one crack at this gig and will also be aware if it isn't working and this continues he will be gone. Our players need to have a good look at themselves after today and if the majority of them have an ounce of personal pride those who line up next week will at the very least bring intensity and effort next week and a will to run hard in both directions. I have said on another thread I am giving the player group till round 4 before I start making personal attacks. Neeld has till round 10 in my book before I make a final call
