He has been struggling at WAFL level, surprised he was called up but then again, they have a lot of injuries. Woosha may play him on a wing to try and make Hill accountable going the other way or without Waters and Hurn they have no one to play the ball out from half back, where he may play a roaming role

You are right on the money BH, I had seen him on telly and thought he was good but I saw him last year in the flesh and thought wow! whoever gets this kid is getting something special. I went to last years colts prelim and was even more impressed then previously, people compare players and sometimes it's a big call, but that day Hogan was the closest thing I've seen to Wayne Carey. He grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and it was one of the most outstanding displays I have seen by a young player. Hogan did not get his side over the line that day and I knew he would go in the mini-draft. In the weeks after that game all the talk was he was going to the Dogs, they were going to move heaven and earth to get him, Can't say how delighted I am we managed to get him and watching the vision I have this year only confirms we finally got a future star. Now we have him it's up to the club to get things right in the FD and he is ours for a long time.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt but he is starting on the back foot Hate East Perth with a passion Meth Coast I hate even more

Yarran doesn't have the work ethic to play in the midfield and will not come cheap. I see him as a player with cameo roles running off half back or playing a role in a forward pocket

I live in Perth and I have never heard of the suburb, Wembley Park which apparenty is where the house he purchased from Karl Langdon is. Langdon laughed it off and I also know where he lives and it is not the suburb of Wembley

I have seen him live 4 times this season and rate him, the Dees were flogged on the weekend but he still wasn't that bad. He is a smart player who reads the play well and sets up play from defence with good distribution. One of my early reports on Dayle Garlett I mentioned Risol who really stood out. He is not dissimilar to Jared Rivers in the way he plays and would be worth a punt as a mature rookie or late pick as cover in the third tall role. He will be 23 in October and I think was brought over from Werribee!

Have seen nothing of him outside of the U/18 telecast, will be interesting to see now from this week on with the U/18 championships finished these players will now start coming into their respective senior sides. I have pencilled in 2 games for East Fremantle for the remainder of the WAFL season but not until Round 20 Aug 3rd & Round 23 Aug 24th so others may see him beforehand

Well went to yesterday's WAFL encounter Swan Districts vs Perth fighting it out for a spot in the Top 4 and it ended up being a very disappointing contest with Perth giving little and getting absolutely belted to the tune of 15 odd goals in the end. Dayle Garlett (for those who didn't attend and would pick up the paper and see he ended up with 4 goals) showed all the reasons why he didn't get drafted last season. Very early in the 1st quarter he collected the ball between half back and centre and after hitting an exquisite pass through the corridor he ran hard to receive again on left wing and hit up a leading forward and I thought he was on for the day, but sadly that was were Dayle's hard efforts for the day ended. From that moment on he failed to put his body on the line once, I saw no hard running off the ball to create space or put pressure on an opponent. There were a few occasions where a little bit of hard running would have seen him on the end of a forward thrust but with the game being so one sided he became very lethargic and was happy to pick up some easy touches. From memory he kicked one goal from the goal line after hard work from a team mate and another from close in feeding off a team mates good work. Some say I am critical of Garlett for a young player showing glimpses which can be worked on at the higher level but two goals he kicked yesterday were from 55 & 60m with effortless ease. The skill and talent is undoubted but it is so frustrating to see him after a good season so far fall back to the bad habits which hampered him last year. On yesterday effort I would not take him before the 4th round and even then it would be a risk. Lets hope it was the heat out of the game which caused his lethargic effort and he will bounce back next time around. I must clarify the bad habits I refer to Dayle slipping back into are on field only and my understanding is everything else with him is going well. The bad habits I see would IMO cause him to be a liability at AFL level and his opponent would be very damaging on the rebound and have greater hunger at the contest which would see him being ineffectual at the highest level As I said previously I hope for Dayle's sake it was just one of those days and he gets back to where he has been for most of this season

Even without their salary cap would not mind Luke Parker & Bird rotating through our midfield. We would be well advised to look at some guys (20-24) just on the fringe of some of the good midfields in the comp as opposed to paying overs for Free agents as other on here have eluded to

On what I have witnessed thus far live this year Garlett wont last till pick 50 and Freo will not take a small forward. I think if available with their first pick they will take Jonathan Marsh as they are desperate for a future KPF or KPD over Acres (who I actually rate highly) -

Don't forget Cale Morton was a Larke Medal winner as well -
Liam Anthony, Kyal Horsley or Taylor Adams

PSD if he wants to come to us, GWS will not draft him back and waste 1st pick in PSD. They will use a lot of their salary cap up on Buddy. -
Lucas Cook?

Morton is struggling at WAFL level for East Perth and IAH should be dropped to the magoos but the fact they are an aligned club to Meth Coast may be saving him

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 14
Pennant St Dee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6.Watts - Showed leadership tonight & stood up late down back to top off his 4 goals 5. Frawley - Sign him up still in best half dozen defenders in the game on ability alone 4. Terlich - the guy is great, hard at it and you know what you get every week, can see him rotating through the middle in the future similar to Shane Tuck 3. Nicho - did a good job on Griffen and would have learnt in the last 15 mins, that top line players never stop 2.Rodan - has his detractors but provides zip and more quality than the Magners & Couch's of our list 1. Dawes- Vital for our structure born leader on & off the field. He either takes the grab or makes sure it hits the ground to our advantage Really unlucky to Nate Jones, Clisby, Trenners & liked Big Max & Fitzy who all could have taken a vote -
Ron I hope the PP is a non issue and we keep improving to win a few more games for the season. If we sort the development out we'll still get pick 2 & somewhere around Picks 20, 38, 54 & with signs of improvement I'd look at snaring a FA & someone like Taylor Adams in the PSD. Hope you enjoy the win, Casey, West Perth & Melbourne all in one day!

Casey Scorpions v Northern Blues
Pennant St Dee replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
It is the way most sides do it and the reason why their kids come in and play so well, the Swans, Pies, Cats, Eagles, Dockers & Hawks all ease their kids in. Whilst there are exceptions to the norm it is the way things should be done -
Lets get this right from here in on and adopt this philosophy "Best player available" this needs to be adhered to for all our picks
