Pennant St Dee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agreed as did the camera's in the room pre game in Round 2 against the Bombers! -
This is where a Neal Balme type in the footy department managers role would be worth his weight in gold!

No worries, my wife is having a lie in, will keep you posted if anything outside the article is said. Did mum like footy up until 2007-present? -

I know your 2 hrs ahead of us WYL but I'm watching game day on Ch 7 at the moment and it is being advertised as coming on soon -
+ 1 Respect is what I want, small steps, quick fixes like the list management/experiment are a thing of the past. Hard work is all that will get us out of this hole. Start being competitive week in week out and the results/improvement will come I no longer want to be pitied by opposition supporters

I think we could show great leadership with taking them on with this, North, Richmond & Collingwood all have slight variations of their home strips, the colours remain the same just altered slightly. I have to state I also prefer the traditional dark blue just want us to remain red & blue as much as possible. No matter what anyone says the dark v light rule allegedly coming from the AFL is a cop out. The AFL is littered with grey areas & inconsistencies and IMO I would take them on, yes I know we have bigger issues but this is one where they are being ridiculous

Unlike many of the older fans, I don't hate the royal blue with the red yoke as it was the colours we wore when I started following the Dees. I see no problem with any sides if we wear our traditional jersey for all home games and only change to the royal blue if we are the away side to Essendon or St Kilda!

Where are you from in Ireland MC?, the name would suggest your from the Rebel county
-
it was on the MFC site last night I saw it, I needed to check the entire context of what was said as opposed to Stuie's abrieviated anti-Neeld version
-
and how has anything changed since the teams were named last night, just because of the change in betting odds. HTFU

Absolutley, whilst United are up there with Meth Coast in my world of hated sides, I have to take my hat off to Fergie he did a great job. Atkinson, Docherty and many before him tried to buy sides, he spent some schilachos but the youth system he had brought through Giggs, Sharpe, Neville x2, Scholes, Beckham, Butt and the main one who is forgotten by everyone Mark ROBINS. In 1990 Fergie was gone as soon as United went out of the FA Cup, they were struggling in the league and the fans were calling for his head (imagine that). Mark Robins went on a hot streak of scoring goals which got United over the line in that cup run against sides outside the top division and saved Fergies job. Both Oldham & Palace had them in the Semi-Final and First Final but somehow United came out on top and the rest is history. Wonder how things may have turned out had things happened differently all those years ago, similar to the Red Fox getting the sack in 1965 http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/man-utd/news/edwards-1990-fa-cup-success-saved-ferguson_83398.html

First of all I think when you are in your 40's you earn the right to cease being referred to as champ Second I wasn't sure where the quote you put in came from, may have been the same site where your way off the mark tackle count reference in last weeks game came from And as for guiding me through it I just went and found the presser, and as I suspected asked a question about is there extra pressure on you going in as favourites against an u and coming team Neeld's response text book deflection not wishing to take the favouritism mantle I'm sure you heard it that way it is there for all to hear but that would not have suited your anti-Neeld vendetta, I have some doubts on Neeld but I am objective and don't play with facts.

Please quote the whole conversation Stuie and the contest it was said in, I didn't hear it fully so would like to know exactly what was said an in what context and not snippets After all he is from the Malthouse school where you always play mind games in the lead up to a game and talk up the opponent, never wanting to take the favourite mantle

Read my post Stuie as to the reasons why Sellar & Davis are in the squad But lets go down your avenue of playing Toumpas because you feel he may be better running around against players of his own age above bringing in a player because of possible match ups

FMD you have a shot at RR for his anti Mclardy posts any chance he gets, but yours against Neeld are just as ridiculous, and is your knowledge of the game that limited that it has to be either Garland or Frawley out for Sellar, Garland can play small, medium or tall, from the Suns line up they have Brown, Matera, Bennell who may all get time in the forward line Dunn may get the run with roll on Ablett so there is another tall option out of defence If Dunn goes to Ablett another tall is needed to provide cover against Dixon, May, Lynch and Smith when he rests in the forward line like he did last week Who says Sellar is in and not Davis, we are playing away keep your options open and Casey are not playing so no harm in taking both Gold Coast's side is also not finalised Bennell named at half forward and Nicho is probably the only one named in our back line who could run with him around the ground but would struggle one on one in forward line if he spends time there (see first dot point re Garland) FTLOG Stuie try expanding your thoughts beyond quoting stats and your bias towards Neeld, I recommend being objective on the odd occasion

I think it's a hyped up story on a quiet day but Roos took over as coach toward the end of 2002, made Prelim in 2003 and won a flag in 2005. Pretty sure the 202 games would include time as an assistant and player at Sydney as he arrived there in 1995 from memory

Not saying you are wrong but can you point me as to what Richmond's light coloured jumper option is
-
+ 1
-
if the pies are allowed to alternate their back & white to a predominatley white with black, I do not see how we are prevented from alternating the traditional jumper to a red with blue yoke
-
WTF light colour v dark colour what then is it when Richmond play Essendon, fook them refuse to change unless we are away against the Blues that is the only game it is close to being a clash
-
No worries, by the way I believe Shanahan's father spent two seasons on the Pies list late 80's never played for the seniors though I think
