  1. Bing I live in Perth with those Dogs and I am in my 40's, to me they will forever be known as Meth Coast
  2. Great job 13th one thing about the video is it gives you hope, I remember some of those dark days of the 80's, oh I want my boys to feel the way I did in 87 when the Dees made their first finals in my lifetime. My oldest was 5 months old when we last played finals, so they have only seen very lean & dark times Once again great work buddy
  3. Jones may not have the class but last season he showed he is heading towards the work ethic of Hanneberry, Jack & O'Keefe. In regards to Jetta he always had pace it is the work ethic which lifted him to the next level, something I hope to see in Blease he has the tools now needs the engine. Sydney could be frightening with outside run options in both Jetta and a fit Rowan
  4. Yes and that is why Josh Mahoney is still with us!
  5. In all honesty Maldon boy I would take that if it came with a view of us heading in the right direction and 2014 with increased belief. I suppose the last 6 years we have endured makes me somewhat like that but I really want to be able to hold my head high and be proud of follwing a team that is hated for being hard bastards
  6. They do but the likes of Embley & Gaff stay free in spaces between half back and wing to be the link between defence and attack, they clear the ball frequently via this route. I have also seen them clear back and wide slighly to Gaff who motors down the wing into space draws a man then centres for Lynch and or Darling to crash a pack. Morton will be able to play this role and if he gets his confidence up he could have a good year. Still don't regret letting him go he was done with us, hard decisions needed to be made
  7. All three arrived in our house the week before Christmas
  8. There is agression and then there is stupidity. Not directing this comment toward Bennell but to the many WA boys who have had issues in bars. Not knowing any facts about the Bennell situation but from experience sometimes these boys can't really help it once they are back with their families. Like LJ'S situation last year they often get caught up in something that is none of their own doing, they attempt to intervene in tribal/family fueds. As role models they do their best but like a lot of AFL players find at nightclubs there is always someone who wants to make a name for themselves, cheap shots etc. No winners
  9. wyl I don't care if we put the ball through the stick 5 times once we keep the opposition to 4 I don't want us to get steamrolled anymore, I expect to beat the sides we should beat and win the majority of those who we expect to finish around us namely: Should beat Dogs, Port, Suns, Giants Win the majority of games against Bombers, Tigers, Lions, Saints, Roos if we do that and perform well against the other sides whilst sneaking a few wins I will be happy next year with a view to continued improvement in 2014. For me it's not about winning 10 games and losing 12 it's about the way we win and how competative we are in our losses, we are coming from a long way back. It doesn't mean I am setting the bar low it means I am looking at the big picture. Whenwe next make teh 8 I don't want to be there to make up the numbers
  10. I do not know what he said verbatim but my take was if you have two players who are equal you would er on the side of caution and not take the indigenous kid due to teh risk factor. and my take is he was not referring to all indigenous kids but those who come from very different backgrounds to metro areas. the short comings are not attributed to their race alone they are attributed to the environment they come from and like I said it is a problem with society which has filtered through to the AFL
  11. I personally think Mcqueen has stated a fact and part of the fact involves indigenous footballers. Lets be honest the number of those recruited has dwindled and the reason probably needs to be looked at by the AFL. I know for a fact Mifsud never contacted Phil Smart of Swan Districts despite the well documented case of Dayle Garlett for two years. We can't hold back on speaking the truth for fear of being labelled a racist, that time has passed and the problems need to be addressed by everyone or we will get nowhere. There are to many people taking quids whilst holding positions within the AFL, ALS and other indigenous councils without really addressing the problems. The issue goes beyond footy and is across society, problems with indigenous youth are widespread and it is only natural they will flow into the AFL. Matty Rendell was hung out to dry for basically being honest. I fully understand where he is coming from why take the risk when other options are available. There is a difference in honesty and racism
  12. Mcqueen I worked Northbridge last night and they were are only problem. I'm hearing you lots of politics and people afraid to speak the truth. Chips on shoulders and everything is someone else's fault. It's people feathering their own nest with BS jobs who need to answer questions, MIFSUD is the first to come to mind On the other side of the coin good friends with many indigenous and they actually feel the same about the likes of MIFSUD and others in similar positions
  13. Rivers will look okay playing a floating role in the Cats defence, Bennell will thrive at East Perth, Morton could ook impressive at times when Meth Coast are steamrolling teams and he plays an unaccountable role on the wing & wide spaces of Subi. Very few of our ex players have shown much in teh past few years when we moved them on and like WYL and others said they are no ex-players. Don't worry about who we haven't got, worry about who we have
  14. Sorry WYL agree with some of this but not about setting the bar lower, I believe we are seeing him differently and that is what opinions are about. IMO he will be and is a good choice as Pick 2. Leader in every way!
  15. Nobody rates him as a legend WYL, don't make stuff up it does your argument more harm. As has been said before he was quick in 2010 & 2011, had very good years, he dropped off last season but not sure whether that was due to extra training load or change in his game as asked by the FD. You say you don't criticize him, my signature block begs to differ I have asked before tell me when in this disapointing season he had, when despite playing a defensive role he was ever towelled up. Games this season where he showed metal and didn't throw it in and refused to concede were in some of our big defeats and that is why he is a leader, who does the simple things. losses to Meth Coast at Subi, Hawks & Cats. and if you want to throw the old chest nut about being a number 2 pick and should be grabbing games by the scruff of the neck please consider we can all come up with many players taken in Top 10 who have all played between 200/300games and never done that
  16. Rats is what they are, put agendas and personal satisfaction above the good of the club. If any of these dogs are uncovered with solid evidence life time ban from the club is the only solution. I don't care who they are and what financial assistance they have provided they are not welcome and the club is better off with out them
  17. and Freddy that is all they could report about. If you speak with a lot of people involved in footy and the press over here in WA they say if half of the rumours are true it is no surprise everybody has stayed away from him. I still wish to remain employed so will leave it at that
  18. Agreed Just refuse to answer any questions or requests from Barrett & Wilson, etc when they write anything or report anything about us the club can provide a blanket answer of look You know we do not speak with them so what they have written is without substance
  19. Noillag Shona to all Demonlanders, may 2013 be kind to all of us and our familes and here's to hoping we are all in higher spirits by mid season
  20. I can only speak for myself on this deegirl but my initial comment of "Nothing to see here" was in no way dismissing your post or stating you were just stiring the pot. I don't know you and the fact you may have only had 3 posts to me is of no relevance. We all have to start somewhere on demonland even if we have reviewed the site for years beforehand. My initial comment related more to nothing has changed regarding the investigation outcome being confirmed. I don't question what you passed on was true to what you heard and I appreciate it.
  21. I think her silence may say it all WYL, she would have penned a massive article on this if she had further info. I think Caro's biggest concern is, her junior (in terms of years) Emma Quayle making her look totally unprofessional & amatuer.
  22. Concur totally with the tanking effect on the club, which is why I believe th enew culture we seem to be heading towards as a no nonsense team will be good for us. Need to be a team who endeavours to win every game and be fierce at every contest. I want the Dees to be the team all supporters of the other clubs hate to play against!
  23. Thank you Cowboy, made my morning absolutley [censored] myself at this post, must be a West side thing, I 'm originally from the West of Dublin, which certainly aint no paradise, for anyone interested google Tallaght. Well life is never boring there
  24. Billy I appreciate it is a public forum, but the sky is falling is a figure of speech. I will put it a better way there are lots of conspiracy theorists around, The AFL is out to get us etc etc. Sorry but this is real life and involves a legal process, so the sky is not falling if people simply take a step back and consider the evidence and facts at hand. At the moment everything is speculation and IMO if there was damning evidence we would have heard by now and rather than being in a stand up and fight mode the board would be trying to limit the punishment in a similar way to Adelaide did.
