  1. I did, I'm about 8 points from the top so figured I'd pick something different. Heres hoping.
  2. I'd like to see what some of these other players on our list can do, lets throw in some of these other players and give them 4-5 weeks in the seniors and tell them show us why you should stay on the list. I'm sick of every week the team being In/Out Rodan, Sellar, Nicholson, Pederson. Get Magner, Couch, Clisby in, put Clark on the LTI. Drop Dunn and delist at seasons end, I'm sick of the same old thing every week. Magner and Couch are fighting to be promoted, they've done enough in the VFL so lets see if they can replicate it at AFL they cant be any worse than the other blokes on our list that had their cards marked years ago. From what I've seen of Clisby he has something and just maybe worth giving some games too. Let Fitzpatrick have a crack as a forward and Dawes can support him. I'd love to see Clark play but really what good does it do getting him back now, so we might win 1 more game? Lets just get him right for next year
  3. So options? McDonald - underdone and out of form Sellar - can match Cloke one-on-one but will killed if he goes for a run Davis - we haven't seen him yet but you'd think Cloke will be to strong
  4. I liked the article but it didn't really tell me anything new. We all knew that Moloney cracked it and decided to put in zero effort, we all saw the games he played last year, a real leader wouldn't sulk and not give it their all regardless of their "title". I've heard many times that Stef Martin had plenty of off field issues over the last few years, I don't know what they are nor do I care and moving him on was a good thing.
  5. I'd like to see Gawn handle the ruck mainly by himself which could be a big ask. In: Fitzpatrick, Rodan Out: Jamar, Bail
  6. Thats basically my view on our recent years, we bring in a coach that use's another teams game plan and we rebuild to suit that. Bailey wanted players to have silky skills and be able to run and carry which was successful for Geelong. We didn't have the cattle for this when Bailey started so our aim in the drafts were to pick players with the above attributes. 4 years later we say its not working, show Bailey the door. Enter Neeld who says we need he'll instill a team that will make a contest not just front run. Once again we didn't have the cattle for this game plan, so out the door are most of those players drafted under Bailey because they couldn't play his game plan. Look where we are now, another coach, another set of players and they cant play either of the above game plans. A coach needs to come in and work with what their got, identify your strengths and weaknesses in your players and develop a game that suits, of course you'll need to still bring in players but its not all run and carry players or all big bodies. Geeeez
  7. The same competitive effort we saw on Sunday, this is should be the bare minimum every week. Just compete for 4 quarters and who knows, maybe, just maybe we could steal a win. Low scoring will suit us just fine.
  8. To the reserved seat members, where do you sit at these "away" games when you cant go to your normal spot? I was thinking behind the goals?
  9. That was the same undermanned West Coast that beat us by 90 odd points
  10. Wasn't something about Schwab's positions being safe and only 24 hours later was shown the door?
  11. I think Fitzpatrick wasn't considered due his age/injuries. Dawes is an experienced player coming of an injured start the season but because he has that experience they're happy to throw him in. Where as Fitzpatrick who has played 1 more game than Dawes in the VFL they're wanting to get a few more games into before giving him a game, although with no Casey game this week that doesn't help him at all. If it was me I would have played hime, I know they want this Dawes/Clark combo who are yet to play together but Dawes/Fitzpatrick have done alright as combo in the VFL.
  12. I'm at a loss now, I thought I understand most of what's happening at the club even if it hasn't been good. But this, I just cant work out. We're 18th for clearances and we have the opportunity to throw in another mid with a big body, can win his own ball and rack up the possessions. It may even release the tag from Jones, nah why would want to do that? It might look like we're actually trying to do something right for a change
  13. They will, and I bet they'll have a substantial increase in the crowd numbers as well.
  14. Didn't realise Casey had lighting, tempted to go but not sure I can make the commitment to driving down and back at that time of night. Good side for Casey, back them to get over Williamstown.
  15. Do I think we'll win, No. Do I think we're no chance of winning, No. We're always some chance, it depends who wants to put in and for how long. This isn't as a result of Mitch Clark not playing, it does hurt us though. Why? Yeah he hasn't been as good as last year but each we get into him the better he gets. Lets not forget that he gets thrown all over the place to help us out. Last week we played Mitch forward, through him down back when we couldn't get it forward. Played him in the center to get a bloody clearance, and I reckon I even saw him take at least one center bounce in the ruck. While Brisbane's team doesn't look to great, their weakened midfield is still way better than anything we can throw in there. Lets also not focus on if we keep Brown quiet we'll be right, each we let some average player kick a bag, O'Hailpan is no star and he kicked 5 on Frawley/McDonald, remember Port in Darwin last year when none of us had heard of Stewart and he ended up kicking for 4 or 5! 60-40 game favoring Brisbane. If we contest and keep it tight we may just win it. My tip is Brisbane by 2 goals unless we give up like rounds 1-3 then it will be Brisbane 40+
  16. Was in the presidents club function yesterday and Dawes was speaking about when he will be back. He said he was hoping to play VFL this week but could be the week after so it sounds like we shouldn't expect to see him in the for the next few weeks.
  17. Good work to all of those who attended training today and and very well organised by the people that made this happen. I cant say I was one of those who attended due to work but its good to know that 200 odd people were able to take some time out from their day to support our beloved club in a time of need. Also great to hear Cam Schwab was there despite his departure, no matter whether we do or dont rate the guy or what the players think of him and what he has done at the end of the day he did what he believed what was best for the club. Cheers
  18. So we've dropped Watts but he isn't named at Casey, how is he meant to improve?
  19. He's played forward, ruck, mid, sub but yet to be tried in defence
  20. We have the tallest defence's going around. They'll have Kennedy, Darling and a resting ruckman. If the 5 of our 6 defenders that are over 190cm cant play on these guys then what the hell are they doing in the side?
  21. Rivers was UFA, he didn't have to listen to an offer from Melbourne and he most likely didn't. I don't blame him, he has a shot at being a premiership player at Geelong. Basically that Cats would of said $350k a year in a decent side, he would of signed the paper right after that.
  22. We sacked the Full Forward position, thats why theres never anyone there
  23. Surprised we're not calling for Missions sacking for not getting him right
  24. Hoping to be proven wrong but expecting us to come out firing end up with a 2 - 3 goal lead at qtr time only to lose the match by 24 points. Planning us to go missing in the 2nd or 3rd qtrs
