2 years for Shannon Byrnes? No wonder he got the flick. What. The. Hell. For?!?!?!? This club, seriously!
-
Garland has always been a very good player. He had an OK to average season last year, and has struggled with that foot fracture, an injury that cannot be underestimated (see Trengove, see Grimes, see Clark, see pretty much most of our best players for some horrific reason). The hate directed at him at the start of the year was and always will be mind boggling. As usual, those with short term memories, were wrong. He's taken it up a notch, as any player of his quality should. Massive kudos to him for just having had enough of the sh!t special served by the club on a weekly basis. At least he, along with Jones, are trying to turn things around, instead of having a sook.

Ross Lyon sounds like he's asleep half the time. He is the least passionate looking human being I have ever seen. He quite literally seems bored to death, and when I listen to him talk I often find myself drifting off to sleep. Ross Lyon is also a gun coach, and learnt from Roos. Don't mistake his demeanour in the media for what he really is. Roos would never move his entire family and sacrifice his personal life unless he was truly passionate about the idea of coaching us. Which is why, if he signs on, I'd be thrilled and not have a single worry in my mind that he's primed for the job. He also wouldn't be signed for anything less than 4-5 years IMO. If all that was motivating him was money, he'd have already signed on the dotted line.

Jesse Hogan traded, cue Demonland going into meltdown and internet exploding. Dawes is a good ordinary foward, and Clark is a star with dodgy feet. Wouldn't tade Hogan for anyone. In fact, would take him hostage, and chain him to a drain pipe at the MCG, releasing him on gameday only, just to stop him for leaving.

Ha, little Nicky has to be one of the biggest stagers and sookers going around. He may be a damn good player, but he got towelled by Tom Mac on Saturday, was getting annoyed, so tried to milk pathetic, weak free kicks. He deserved a jeer. This is footy, not ballet. Sounds like the moron behind me at the game who pleaded we don't abuse Nick, but then unleashed a long period of abuse on Jack Watts, calling him everything from weak, to a princess and other such things. Nice. I suppose Connolly didn't want Melbourne supporters to protest when Dawes got smacked in the head for no free either?
-
A disappointing start to his career? You mean playing for the worst midfield in the AFL and struggling for a kick in his first handfull of games? You're right, rubbish. Should have delisted him already. FFS you lot are impatient!

Lol at supporters who don't want us to get a priority pick. I want all/any advantages we can get.

Changes Next Week v Western Bulldogs
Jaded No More replied to Straight Sets Simon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Watts was good today. FMD everyone here enjoys giving Watts a beating no matter what he does. Given its his what, third game of the past two years as a forward, and given he was without Clark and for all intents and purposes Dawes, he did bloody well. GET PEDERSON THE F OUT OF THE SIDE. HE IS MAKING ME WANT TO DIE! -
Maybe I'm delusional but I thought that was a lot less painful to watch than usual. I know St Kilda are crap, but at least we managed to stay in possession of the footy for more than 2% of the game. Yes we lack run, yes we are still poor defensively and yes some of our players should never kick a footy. But at least nobody packed up and left when they kicked a few goals in a row. We fought every single quarter, which is a good start. Take out passengers and hopeless players like Byrnes, Pederson, Nicholson and so forth, and get Jones some help, and the turnaround will be quick. Not to mention a seriously good coach. Tommy Mac destroyed that sook Reiwoldt, and Garland who continues to kill it like a boss. But the biggest positive for me today was Watts. He was angry, he was animated, he worked hard and he showed more today than he has in a long time. I walked away today not wanting to slit my wrists. I'm calling that a win.

What does Shannon Byrnes do? I say nothing.

The umpiring in this game is [censored] unbelievable. Pathetic reactionary umps. And to the arsewipe sitting behind me, abusing our players and your own simultaneously has to be a first. May you die a sad and lonely man having never watched your team achieve anything.
-
Well I LOLed. Good rant sir. The man in the white coats are waiting to take you away now.
-
This is the calmest I have been in a long time. I know that with a decent coach, and two-three good mids to help Jones, we will be ok. Yes we are losing and yes St Kilda are no good, but this is one of the most enjoyable games I've been to in a long time. P.S.- thanks for Pederson Neeld.
-
The AFL, believe it or not, has our best interests at heart, because a successful MFC is a successful competition. I'm glad somebody with money, power and most importantly a clue, has stepped in to save our sorry arses. I love this club to death and I want to see it thrive. I couldn't give two sh!ts who makes that happen for us.
-
Bailey is a very different case, but nobody ever told Neeld to take us backwards and make us lose by an average of 10 goals each and every week. You're delusional if you think this, and you're not looking at the biggest picture if sacking Neeld makes you furious. We are at rock bottom. You think a coach who can't get his team to win games of football is in a tenable position? Listen carefully to Jackson and you'll see why Neeld had to go. The people who appointed him also have to go, and in fact, most of them already have. Just because they f'ed up royally, doesn't mean we as a club should apologise for trying to stop the rot.
-
If Choco could get us Dustin Martin, I'd personally drag his arse into the club. Good coach + gun midfield combo = winner. But, will not happen in a million years.

Everyone is welcomed back, except that pathetic weasel Tom Scully. He needs to stay far far away. -
Is it wrong that a part of me thinks you're taking the [censored]? #IbelieveinWattsy

No more saving money. We need to pick the best coach available to us, regardless of how much they will cost. The most expensive coach may not be our best option, but if it is, we must go for it. Cutting corners financially when picking coaches, will only cost us more in the long term.

Mark Neeld on Footy Classified tonight
Jaded No More replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
Best moment of the season for me. Finally he admits he's responsible and vows to stay away. Should have saved my dancing banana for this moment. -
Let them play. FFS just let them play. Man the fark up, and go. We have a seriously winnable game this week and next. Lets see what players without fear and confusion can do.

Mark Neeld on Footy Classified tonight

He was dignified. But my god he is stubborn. To never admit a fault when you were so clearly not coaching victorious sides, is baffling. However, it is his exit and he can choose to handle it any way he likes. I give him credit for sticking up for the club and we will always owe him Clark-Dawes-Hogan.- 130 replies

You have got to be kidding. He is a grown man and is meant to be professional. I don't care what personal issues they had, keep this crap to yourself and don't be a tossbag. I am far from Neeld's biggest fan, but he is still a human being with kids and a wife and he went in and did what he thought was best, regardless of whether it was or wasn't. Brent Moloney behaving like a petulant child right now somehow vindicates Neeld's position, which is probably the opposite of what Moloney was trying to achieve. Not too smart is Brent.
