Our midfield is a disgrace. Broken record I know. But seriously!

A win. Make it happen Melbourne. Do it. -
For the love of god, keep Hogan away from light planes and crocs. With our luck...

Melbourne has moved on from Roos

According to channel 7, Roos has also moved on. To West Coast. Screw your money and warm weather. Screw you all! -
Melbourne has moved on from Roos

I won't let go until we hire someone else. I believe in Paul. -
Oh I know, he is such a co...ach tease!
-
Gary looked cagey last night. Rarely does he stand up for us so categorically. He was the only one refusing to take Roos' comments at face value. Does he know something? Inside info?

What is the one thing that has kept you going?

Love. -
Why won't you love us Paul? Why? We can change, we promise.

I'm so confused.

Out: Nicholson, Kent (I think he needs a rest) In: McKenzie, Viney
-
Hope Mackenzie gets through the match today. It's time to bring him back. At least he can actually shut down his opponent, and win clearances. Even if he can't run like Nicholson. And bring back Strauss FFS, sick of having so many [censored] kickers in our team.

Come home* ScottyPeople are yelling for Magner. Thompson on one leg is ten times the player Magner ever could be. We need solid bodies and we need help in the middle. *yes, I know Melbourne is not his home.
-
Surely not!

Sack him. Sorry, wrong thread.

Disappointing selection and coaching for me today. Not that anyone could have helped us win this afternoon. This is the toughest assignment in footy by far. Combine that with the worst midfield in the AFL, plus pouring rain, and the result is just about right. I have no doubt we would have lost by a lot more under Neeld, and when you consider that we lost by over 100 against Essendon and West Coast at home, this result puts a lot into perspective. We did fight all day and our tackling shone through. Everyone put in physically and that is all you can ask for right now. Bring me a midfield dear AFL. Please also keep in mind that its been a long time since we've played in this sort of weather. In fact, guys like Kent, Terlich, M Jones etc have never played at AFL level in this sort of rain, or indeed in Geelong. We had no idea how to handle the conditions as a whole, which is where Frawley and Garland and Jones experience shone through. They knew how to handle it, but a lot of our kids did not. Good learning experience.

Luke Tapscott - Another one of BP's Specials?
Jaded No More replied to olisik's topic in Melbourne Demons
No idea why he didn't play today. Perfect for the conditions. A good coach can turn him into a good player. I would be interested to see him play as a tagger. He is a tough [censored], which is his best asset. Neil, now is the time to experiment! -
I said I'd be ok with a 10 goal loss. We just went over that. We'd have lost by twice as much under Neeld. This is the toughest game most teams play all year. That we have to do it in Geelong every year is a downright disgrace. We fought, we lost, we move on. I've seen worse. Much much worse.

Disagree. The wet weather is a major disadvantage for us given we are hopeless at clearances and our best asset is our tall towards.I'm happy with our tackling. We are going hard at the footy, which is all we can ask for when we are getting so comprehensively beaten.
-
I get that but he isn't bringing ball to ground. He's playin dumb wet weather footy. I do appreciate the conditions are impossible. But Watts is playing more intelligent footy.
-
Steven Johnson's opponent today = Casey next week. I have no idea who it is though, because nobody is ever near him.
-
Conditions are crap but Dawes is hopeless today. Absolutely hopeless.
-
The biggest disappointment so far is that Sylvia's 150th is about as good as his 1st game. He is a wasted talent. Can't imagine that will ever change.
-
You are an idiot. Seriously, we are playing the best team in the comp, in howling rain, at their ground. Get a grip. We are down by 36 points and we are struggling. But to say we aren't trying is a pathetic comment.

Joel Selwood is the biggest umpires' pet. Some of the frees he gets are a joke.
