  1. Geez it was great by Roosy tonight Finally someone comes out and says for once and all for the club and its players to stop talking and stand up and do something about it Hopefuilly they were listening from the President down to the boot studder enough's enough shutup and play footy
  2. Without trying to upset the positive vibe around the news today I was at golf day with Mike Sheehan last week and he says categorically that Scully has agreed to terms with GWS via his manager. A point to note that Graeme Allan of GWS is a very close friend of Mike's. Although he has not officially signed with GWS an agreement via his management company Velocity and GWS has been done. Now before you all shoot me down please note that I am passing on what I heard with the other 100 people on that day I obviously don't want to see him go but the details of this seem like its done
  3. He's a funny one Jonesy!! In 2007 he was brilliant and a clear standout in what was a poor midfield at the time In 2008 he struggled in handling a tag every week Since then he has changed the way he plays by prefering to take tackles on and get boot to ball but the problem is that more often than not he gets pinned then even if he does break free his disposal oftens lets him down. Don't get me wrong I am a fan of his but at this stage if the club were to make a decision like they did with Brock McLean last year there would be a fair chance he could be traded to secure an earlier pick
  4. Fair dinkum mate pull your head in!! Sylv was flying through the pre-season until he had his jaw broken then it was a week by week case until he had full confidence in the jaw. Tell me you think it would be easy after a broken jaw and missing a substantial chunk of match fitness Sylvia is a quality player who has had a couple of down weeks but he is no passenger Maybe a thought might be to watch him a little closer this week and see how hard he really works around the ground especially with his 1 percenters instead of taking pot shots at him
  5. Why change a winning formula? Sure I agree with some that Bruce is questionable and Bate is unfit and Dunn is well I don't know what he is but the fact is if they play with the same intensity and apply the same pressure as they have in the past few weeks the scoreboard will speak for itself. Personally I hope Brown does play because I would like to see our defence against true quality forwards and I am looking forward to seeing Frawley take Fevola
  6. Has anyone actually mentioned that the real reason that he left Melbourne as well as Jolly and Powell was due to our former coach Daniher!!!!! Scotty would be fantastic to have back remembering that Junior may retire this year and with Bruce on the decline we still need that older head through the midfield. Scotty Thompson's touches are all quality through the middle and not around the backs & flanks like a Mitchell or a Swan Beamer will be our next captain and I cannot believe some people would be mentioning him for a trade or delisting when a player like Jones who clearly has been struggling for some time now and still cannot hit a target More than happy to throw Dunn & Bartram for Thompson It's a no brainer there!
  7. Umm hello a CHF to take contested marks and kick goals hey?? Are you from the 80's??? Once again Miller has been made a scapegoat
  8. Firstly as a new comer to this forum I am tired of constantly reading about how poor Brad Miller is A couple of points: 1. He is and always will be a lead up CHF who will feed runners past and open up forward line 2. When was the last time he had consistently good delivery to him 3. He runs his guts out weak in weak out 4. Suspensions and lack of confidence from Daniher took his key assets away - strength & intimadation In 2004 he was fantastic leading up the ground presenting and being physical and I do not need to remind anyone about the 2006 semi-final against Freo When you have the likes of Jones, Bartram, Bruce, Dunn and Mclean(previously)just to name a few who cannot hit a target from a 10mtrs out how can you possibly play forward for Melbourne He takes the brunt of all the negativity from our supporters but the real ones know just how significant he is to the side no matter where we are on the ladder Moving forward he will still be there when the others wont
