  1. That's last years leadership group
  2. I see some similarities between Salem and the Toump - and not just looks. In the Pick Me video in the HUN and in his post drafting interview with Burgs he mentions the importance he places on learning a number of times. An impressive thing to be focused on and something that no doubt is super appealing to clubs these days and Roos as well. I get the same vibe from the Toump. The Toump seems super motivated to get better and i suspect he would not need to be told that in today's footy all players need to be able to win their share of clearances. No doubt he'll work on it I suspect both Salem and the Toump will flourish under Roos and the improved development at the club (at least i'm hoping it will be improved).
  3. Alexis Georgiou next. Without access to any video highlights looks a gun. We've got a beauty who will meet our needs and add to our mid field mix. I predict he will train the house down. And at number 50 in the rookie draft - Neville 'jets' Jetta. from the 6 or so years of vision is not a gun but i love him. He is training the house down and i for one am rapt he is still with us. Prove the doubters wrong Nev!
  4. Max King our next pick. Without access to any video highlights looks a gun. We've got a beauty who will meet our needs and add to our mid field mix. I predict he will train the house down.
  5. Looks a gun from the 58 seconds of highlights. We've got a beauty who will meet our needs and add to our mid field mix. I predict he will train the house down.
  6. Perhaps but i am assuming he still wants the gig. I'd suggest Roos whispered in Trenners ear that he thought giving up the good would be wise. I don't reckon he's had the same conversation with Grimes.
  7. I agree Old Dee, i prefer one skipper. But i just don't think it would be fair to drop Grimes as captain.
  8. It will be Jones and Grimes as co captains (in my humble opinion).
  9. I reckon we should have a 'Gold' button. Could be used to praise a genuinely funny post or a rip snorter of a reply or to comment on an unintentionally funny or hugely ironic post.
  10. Seems obvious doesn't it but Neeld seemed not to put any truck in this at all.
  11. What a stupid (and unnecessarily snide) comment from Satry. His desire to protect 'his boys' from criticism is almost pathological. Jeez a player that hasn't even had his first training session and Satry feels the need to protect him from perceived criticism. I say perceived because i for one didn't read InRooswetrust's comments as particularly critical, indeed he emphasized he was surprised (as opposed to bagging Hunt). Besides he was talking from a perspective of having actually played against Hunt (and for that matter played on him) so i imagine he might have a better idea than Satyr might from the 2 mins of highlights on DeeTv. Or perhaps Satry has been watching Hunt train all year, is good mates and is confident that Hunt is telling the truth when he says he's a gun.
  12. What's all this business about Salem being a skinny kid?
  13. I would normally just like this comment - but the function has mysteriously disappeared, So i'll say this instead: Gold.
  14. Yep. I suspect that that is the Roos template for mids in a nutshell (an an insight into his game plan)
  15. Northern NSW is lovely in the summer
  16. . S witch to the fat side (which as a lefty he'll do plenty of)
  17. I'm sure someone on demonland will find a negative from today's announcement
  18. I have no idea about players in the draft however I do like the idea of a quality left footer. Apart from the advantages it brings (a player who often has a bit more space to dispose of the ball and the way a good lefty can open up the play by going the opposite way opposition players intuitively expect) I like the aesthetic of a good left foot kicker. Plus I like Salem's name. I can hear myself yelling "burn them Salem!!!!"
  19. I certainly have him in our best 22. Of course i can see his limitations but i reckon he is our most underrated player (if Demonland is a reliable gauge). Of course he is in our best 22. When was the last time he was dropped? Has played 117 games since his debut in 2006.
  20. A bit like one of those tired, ratty pubs with a huge banner declaring it was 3aw's pub of the year in 1992
  21. Until the following year's pre-season when it becomes - "could never get a run at it, had an interrupted pre season and never really got going, had series of niggles that made it hard to get the base down, it made realize the importance of having an uninterrupted pre season, was always playing ctach up, a frustrating period etc etc" (see comments from any number of players, most recently Trenners presser
