  1. You would think so but it was 15 hors today
  2. Long and frustrating story. Short version is you are supposed to be able to use your live pass on multiple devices (which means access to replays on your pc) but due to 'technical issues' atm you can only use afl live pass on the device you used firts to subscribe. Telstra advised via crowd support portal (which ridiculosy how they manage all communication about live pass) months ago issued would be resolved by the begginning of season. It isnt and they have not answered my query as to when it will be. Hopeless But i use chromecast to mirror to tv and it works super well. Apple tv works as well apparently for iphones, ipads etc
  3. I'm in as The Phoenix. Who won last year?
  4. Yes, they are. Apple to Chromecast isn't
  5. You're right. The wrong turn of words on my part. However a loss in this game could (i stress could) mean the diffetence between making the 8 or not. How about season shaping
  6. The Wet Coke 20006 flag tainted? not in my book. In fact i reckon they deserve more kudos. After all still being able to win a flag after a decade long tear is quite some feat.
  7. An intersting poing OD. I recall reading last year our average home attendances was 40k and more than the blues and collingwood (i think)
  8. Love it. We go to the footy. As long as it's not at Ethiad.
  9. A word of warning about the crown offr. I joined a while ago but never put money into my account. I get cold caled regularly about betting offers. Also my account is now frozen because i don't use it
  10. No probs. I'm not a MFC 'basher' but this is yet another example of how poor the marketing and communication is at the dees. Yes the link came from a MFC email but the email didn't indicate they were discounted tickets (get your discounted tickets!, why pay full price etc etc). I assumed they would be the usual $50 plus reserved seats and only clicked on it because a mate is down form Sydney and was trying to get a group together to watch the game. A small thing perhaps but this adds to a long list of missed marketing opportunities and amateurish communication with members, including but unfortunately not limed to: A woeful website that i barely go to because there is even less content of interest than last year (and less content full stop for that matter) Amateurish use of social media Poor fan - and worse member - engagement After a bold start with a big sexy ad campaign failure to leverage off the new Melbourne re branding in any meaningful way Making it very difficult to buy merchandise from anywhere but the internet - ironically their latest mail out included a flier encouraging members to buy their demon merch from the demonshop as it is the only place that 100% of all sales go to the direct to the club. Ironic because the demonshop is in a ridiculous location and there is no Melbourne merch available anywhere else (expect at games)
  11. I disagree, in so far as there is a fairly good chance we might be battling the saints to make the 8 or perhaps even a poisition within tbe 8. So in that regard it could well be season defining
  12. Don't we all look like our avatars?
  13. You are much taller than dean though. And you have much more hair than Nathan
  14. Goodwin is a very competitive bloke. Probably told jones about viney just before addressing a crucial drive
  15. Thanks d_j but I have the tickets and they have entry barcodes and allocated seat numbers (dead centre wing). So all good. Won't even have to queue. Straight in. And if I don't like my seats I'll go to where I normally sit in level 3.
  16. I assume so. I have the tickets. I'm a member but its not a home game so i can't scan my card on entry. But you don't need to be a member to get the tickets. I didn't need to enter my membership bar-code to get the ticket as i died for the doggies JLT game (but the link came from an email out to dees members)
  17. And yes a bargain. Funny really and i didnt even know until a mate alerted me to it
  18. I agree. I usually sit top stand directly behind goals (at the g as well) but have sat on level 1 at ethiad and have to say the viewing is terrific, much better than rhe equivalent spot at the g. You feel very close to the action.
  19. My vote for the strangest post of the year. And given some of the posts i have read thus far that is no small feet. Congratulations.
  20. I bought reserved seats on level 1 for $20 a pop, which is $5 cheaper than GA, via the link the club sent out a week or so ago (the email with a picture of Bernie). Great deal. Link here: http://www.ticketmaster.com.au/event/25005256F75B3AC2?did=at&camefrom=EMCL_1533356_59618296
  21. With respect that doesn't make much sense. If the club want him to play round one they dont need to worry about spin they will just pick him. Which they will by the way. As i have said before he is one of our most important players. Look at the highlights of the wc game and count how often watts is involved in scoring chains. Sounds similar on sunday with him setting up goals but no doubt also being involved in mutiple scoring chains. He is critical to our chances of putting a winning score on the board. Critiques of him playing without sufficient physicality on sunday are absurd. As someone noted as if the afl players were going to risk injury in a vfl practice game by going at it full tilt. They wouldnt have been allowed to. His 'intensity' was fine against wc. By the by rangehood makes pd look moderate.Demonland's own version of the far right in the usa.
  22. No, because it was started to cause angst. That said there is no doubt the women players should be paid more. As much as men? Of course not, but as someone noted no one is arguing they should. But most definetley much more than the paltry 10k the average players get now. Look at the injury rate. Do an ACL and there goes your job as, say landscape gardener or tennis coach. The competition has exceeded all expectations - even the most positive. Look at the pressure Geelong is putting on the AFL to get a licence. What does that tell you. It says clubs do not want to miss out on what will clearly become a huge revenue stream. The AFL now need to invest in player payments to ensure the talant remains on the park and continues to improve The 10k they are bing paid was based on a guess about how things would go. Well it rates and the sposers are rollingin. there is enough money to play the women properly and ensure they can train throughout the year.
  23. 100% agree on all accounts. I watched the game whilst cooking and loved it and really felt connected, Sung the song with gusto after the game and loved the players's joyous rendition. It really feels as if they are part of the club and i think the women's team will be a huge benefit to the MFC, not leat in terms of building our supporter base. So exciting and great reward for the rela investment we, along with the doggies, have made in this space. Go dees.
  24. 100% agree on all 3 counts. Yes he can drift out of games at times (as seems par for the course for specialist small forwards) but he is a very important player in our set up. One, he has the ability to hit forward targets and can do so with bullet passes, across the face of goal kicks and well weighted kicks into space. Two he has great vision and sees and hits targets others don't. Three he has pace, something we seriously lack. Four, he reads the play beautifully, a skill that in some senses can't be taught and is a natural small forward. And five, our game plan (which of course is very similar to that of the Hawks, Crows and perhaps even more so the doggies) is all about run and gun and getting the ball into our forward half before the opposition can flood back. This, combined with the number of poor kicks we have, means the ball is pumped in quickly and often comes to ground. With this game plan quality small forwards are critical, not just in terms of scoring but stopping the ball slingshot back out our offensive area. The hawks have Rioli, the Crows Betts and the dogs about 3 who play this role. We have Garlett.
