The old bomb it long to a pack has recurred. Can get away with it sometimes when Petty is there, but more importantly he leads and splits the defence. Nobody seemed to eat and disperse the defenders tonight.

I won’t be able to watch the game but I look forward especially hearing about how Tom MCD looks after all this time. A great opportunity for him to stake a claim, though I wouldn’t expect too much from him first up.

But maybe with Gawn and Brundy in the team the bench would be in less need of a ruck or ruck capable tall - a hybrid or even a mid in these circumstances.
