  1. As I said 20+ minutes ago Port need another goal soon.
  2. Hawkins has been having another rest this week "Preferred club" you surely mean
  3. Port really need another goal soon.
  4. 3 quick goals to the maggots.
  5. McAdam will play when he is fully fit and well. Needs to show a full game at Casey first. Good news from the derailed captain’s run report was that Melksham and Salem were on the track early and apparently going hard in contest one on one. Maybe round 11 or 12?
  6. Maybe the first quarter slow start was more mental than physical. They just didn’t look sharp at all. And, most of the night nothing we tried seemed to come off … yes, fumbles but also “unlucky” bounces. The two “deliberate oob” were just appalling decisions. The first had the player tackled in the process of kicking so way off balance, the second just clueless. Then to rub it in, Carlton did several in the last half when they started to struggle and none were paid.
  7. Maybe they are trying to hide him? I notice Kolt is named in the middle - maybe this is for "learnings" as well as for desperate needs? IF he does learn midfield skills it would add a very useful string to his HFF bow.
  8. JVR is still learning the game but has the necessary agro and drive.
  9. Will that Carlton player who elbowed ANB in the face get cited? Is there a suggestion of corruption in the AFL and MRO? Both questions could be answered concurrently. Also I think it was ANB again who received a gut punch after disposing on the outer wing in Q2 - any suggestion by the commentariat that this should be cited, or did they think it was "just. a love tap"?
  10. They certainly don't seem to even try to dispel those suggestions. But then, Carlton are still in the race, so, as GWBush infamously said "mission accomplished".
  11. Let's see who does what at Casey. No glaringly obvious changes to me IMO Billings is still NQR decision making and disposal - does AMW fill his role? McAdam is an interesting one - pulled out sick I believe early in Casey's last game. Has he recovered and can he play a full and good game Saturday? PS - wwsw ⬆️ prodded my tired and frustrated brain - Chandler is looking NQR too. Is he fit or carrying an injury? McAdam could fill that role if fit.
  12. 6 CP5 5 ANB 4 Max 3 JV7 2 Windsor 1 May
  13. Once again we came out and could not hit a disposal in the first quarter. This is becoming a habit. Is there an explanation? Very proud of the comeback but just a bit too late. As always incredibly thankful to the three of you for your (usually) calm and reasoned analysis.
  14. We all know that the AFL are total hypocrites about the head being sacrosanct. They pick and choose when to crack down. They are as disgraceful an organisation as FIFA and the IOC.
  15. Appalling clear bias, NB #22 who always screws us, but we did lose it in the first quarter.
  16. But surely the mid season draft is surely different than the national and rookie drafts. I would see it as absolutely role / needs driven
  17. Mmmmm. The Duke of Windsor didn’t really commit himself to his job to the extent required of the modern AFL player, especially what we want of any Demon player. He was distracted by outside influences that affected his performance. However he did I guess have quite a few Demons of his own.
  18. It of course doesn’t account for the unpaid frees - we could start a book on how many throws Cripps will get away with Thursday.
  19. Are you referring to a few quacks selling snake oil, aka “supplements”, to gullible ex AFL coaches, who crashed and burned like too many Lancaster and Flying Fortresses? I remember being pretty happy the night Frittata kicked 6 though I wasn’t able to see him do it. Maybe a repeat, Bailey, please. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair. Charles Dickens Tale of Two Cities Dicko could well have been describing a typical season on Demonland (and MFCSS)
  20. I must say I thought it was said in a light hearted way, given that it seems there was very little training anyway.
  21. I can't find the date on this - is it April 1st? He will be 35 next year and now injury prone.
  22. It also fails to take into account who the various teams have played. Playing North, Hawthorn and WCE already will give a far greater opportunity to be in the top right corner than having played only one of these.
  23. Interesting observations. The late Alan Jeans was once asked what was the most important attribute he looked for in a player - his answer was "balance".
  24. I am sure we won't get any concessions for Smith, but certainly will for Angus
  25. Well that is ludicrous and emphasises yet again the blatant hypocrisy of the AFL in their "head is sacrosanct" charade. And, isn't high contact (or in the back for that matter) in a ruck contest a free kick? I have certainly seen it paid.
