Great innings. Well played there, Richie. You will be missed.

Surely that is a jockey's top, not a footballer's.

JKH was pretty unlucky I reckon. Did very little wrong. Just the wrong man in the wrong place at the wrong time. He will return all the better for it, I expect. He has a good character and won't sulk.

For all the concerns and complaining about his decision making and disposal, he looked far more composed and skillful Saturday. Maybe he has "turned the corner " Let's hope he continues throughout 2015 and beyond. Great game. Gawd it is good again to be a Demon fan.

DeeGee - YOU are asking that? I thought that you would know the answer. monoCcular LOL I seem to remember someone recently at the club talking up 'being the hardest team to play against'......did he speak too soon? Bail certainly will have his work cut out to get in the team, but every team does need depth players Tathra....on the coast at Bega, as I recall And I will have to use the Yass Road one on my friends from Canberra. Yes, vandenBerg certainly looks at this stage like a huge find. Balanced, strong, tall, intelligent. Hope he can keep it up once he is better known by oppositions.

Thanks to the few posters here who read the thread title and wrote about training. Most others confused this with the changes thread.

Geelong at Geelong - why the injustice?
monoccular replied to Curry & Beer's topic in Melbourne Demons
I know we played absolute crap that night but one huge factor re the poor attendance that night, as I recall 8/8/08 was the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. But there is no justification for Melbourne being THE club to play more than any other visiting team at Kardinia Park. -
Which player positively suprised you against GC
monoccular replied to Henrietta Lumbago's topic in Melbourne Demons
I mused rematch that this was a crossroads match in a crossroads season for Garland. So far so good. Well done Col. I was also impressed by each and every one of the new recruits to the club and the debutants. All did everything that was asked if them. Fabulous recruiting. -
Salem does create time, doesn't he. Great to watch. Not too many in the competition can do that so well.

As Pauline Hansen would say "please explain" I must have missed "that atrocious act" at the time and haven't watched the replay

So I am reading that Garland may be in doubt with ?injury, which would make the choice re Dawes a lot easier. Vince for the sub, Toump is a fairly obvious one unless there are other injuries we don't know about. But if Garland is fit then the choice re Dawes is really difficult ?Kent????

DEMONLAND PLAYER OF THE YEAR - ROUND 1, 2015
monoccular replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
6 Tommy Mac 5 Nathan Jones 4 Newton 3 O'Brien 2 Watts 1 Garlett Many deserving missed out - a very nice, and unfamiliar, dilemma -
So, please only answer if you saw both games Is Vincw ready? Replace whom? Any other obvious promotions? (I would say Dawes needs to earn a recall)

I must say I thiught of it as "a pivotal moment" in the game. Pressure from Viney all day wore him down. JKH was just soooooo composed. A hugely impressing young man. Some near me were bagging some of Viney's disposal. Well, his disposal of Ablett was superb. A master call by Roos in having him run with Ablett most of the game. He will learn a lot and be a better player for it. Gutsy call by the coach. We beat a team that would have played finals last year but for Ablett's injury. Have you considered perhaps that we made them look not so good? As far as I am aware Harry O is Brazilian not African. Never thought I would ever be cheering for him but I went hoarse after his goal in Q4

Is Vince "match ready"? I would love to see him in but really who deserves to go. As for Dawes........suck it up. You got suspended for an undisciplined act. Who DESERVES to go from today's lineup?

Match Day Experience - time to lift our game
monoccular replied to Leoncelli_36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Winning a game is all "the experience" most true footy fans are after. The hell with flashing lights, cheer leaders, "music". I must say at times the flashing signs were distracting, especially the whiter ones, but IF it brings us $$$ then no real problem. Just keep winning. -
Christian Petracca - Season Ending Knee Injury
monoccular replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Reinstated after the sacking....but he (and indeed the entire MFC) never the same again Did you really mean that his surgeon is the Magpies physiotherapist? Dual qualifications or imposter in one role? -

THE DRUG SCANDAL: AFL TRIBUNAL DECIDES
monoccular replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Surely WorkCare will now their their turn. Mandatory. Poor record keeping is never ever a defence. -
I doubt if many "invincible" young people, particularly "elite athletes" even consider heart attacks and cardiac arrest in the context of "recreational drugs" though it is amost a daily occurrence, sadly, in our city

Surely one quick at least 40-50 m on the attacking side of the mob would be enough to demand accountability to cover the fast break from the pack.

All too true. IF others get it, whoever allowed him near the club should be drawn and quartered. -
