  1. That one went ok
  2. OMG this umpiring is appalling. Franklin had his head pulled off...responded...free Norf high tackle. Rubbish.
  3. And not long before that some Kangaroo dived into a pack, connected his head or neck with an opponents hip.....high tackle. It is crap and it is so dangerous to encourage this [censored]
  4. Much as I gate to say it, Norf were bloody unlucky with the 50 against Thomas. The Swan dropped the mark quite clearly. Blind maggots.
  5. By quarter time or at the end?? :-)
  6. Ernest - there are always people who just don't respect the achievements of others unless those achievements are outstanding. As you imply, even reaching an AFL list is a bloody good achievement that the vast majority of humanity fail to achieve. Sure these players were not world beaters and may not have achieved what they themselves would have hoped or expected, but they did wear the great red n blue Good luck to them.
  7. Exactly my point....and it WILL happen if he continues
  8. Wow What a fabulous kid to have at our club The sort of person who hopefully will encourage others to want to stay
  9. The guy is a bloody cheat and he WILL inevitably suffer a significant head, face or neck injury....and some poor bugger will be made to feel guilty about it
  10. I suspect that Cale may have struggled to develop physically even under our programme.......maybe could have bulked up at Essendon though.
  11. old joke ------ time to move on
  12. Good question re Hulett - looks to be a physical beast.....has anyone seen if he can ruck?
  13. I suspect that you are right.
  14. How about Dawes for Daw?
  15. How about Dawes for Daw?
  16. I had the pleasure of watching a fair bit of RDB31 as a kid....and being gob smacked every time he went near the ball. If CP5 could play in 7 GFs in a row, winning 5, 8 GFs in 11 years winning 6, I would have to admit to being a very very happy man. ?
  17. Exactly Imagine if say Viney did exactly the same thing - 2-3 weeks! Corrupt or inept, or both? Rusty......whatever attributes Dawes may have over Pedersen, and I would dispute that he has many at this stage of their respective careers, rucking is not one of them. IMO Watts is a better ruck option than Dawes, especially a Dawes just returning from a chronic / recurring leg injury.
  18. Do you KNOW that they think he is better than Frost? They are managing a developing list. Maybe they saw this as a good opportunity to get another game into Oscar whilst they also had a look at Frost as a defender at Casey I don't know, but I do trust our current football department to have a bit of vision and planning for the future. Great perspective of where we are right now and what we need to do to improve. I read the post differently than you did. Nobody said winning is not important, but positioning the club for a decent crack at glory at a realistic time is perhaps more important, at this time. Players looking for a move aren't (necessarily) stupid and can also look ahead at what is developing I would suspect that were the Internet and sites such as this around in 1953-54, posters would be calling for Smith's resignation / sacking. A few may have looked forward and seen a dynasty developing.
  19. So you do know the exact diagnosis. Would you care to share?
  20. Mods - definitely needs suspension until he rectifies this terrible deficiency, one which almost qualifies him for deregistration, though for a first offence I guess a warning could be issued. (I am feeling magnanimous after a win)
  21. Clearly #1 and all credit to him for taking up Roos' challenge thrown at him. Clearly a guy who really wants to play AFL, unlike many before him who may have liked to. Ad drdrake pointed out our small nd medium defenders list is developing well but the taller ones still need work, and some more personnel. Well done Nev.
  22. I am not sure how to access those stats, but would 11 score involvements be some sort of high, also 21 'pressure acts'? Yeah. He could be quite good once he gets a few more games under his belt. ?
  23. As I recall he had something related to his thyroid when he first appeared at the club, though I never heard the detail. An under active thyroid could certainly explain his 'sluggishness', relatively speaking, and one would feel that it would be eminently treatable in most cases, though it may take some time to get 100%. All the best, Christian........looking forward to a hail and hearty return.
  24. I read earlier in the thread that BH had the likes of Spangher, Whitecross, Litherland and other experienced hardened defenders - no surprise then I guess that Weideman and Hulett had quieter games but it would have been good for them to play against these types. And it makes the victory all the more significant given the manpower of the opposition.
