Really, these terms spud and dud are unnecessarily offensive to use of anyone who has ever been placed on an AFL list. Most have put in a lot of hard work getting there and during their time and should be respected for that. Describing them in those terms does not. I made the mistake stake of optimistically renewing round 1 .... hadn’t renewed after 40 years plus the day they capitulated meekly (all too familiar) to the drug addled Essendon 3rds. Wont mark that mistake again, or at least until there is a solid group of on field leaders. Currently rudderless.
