Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
monoccular replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sounds a great idea, but if i remember correctly isn't this quite a sloping site? So one would need to either dig at the northern end or build up at the southern end or both. I just can't envisage the loonie left Greens allowing it though. -
He certainly needs to keep out of the media and concentrate on his game.

Mods - the title of this thread reads as if a fait accompli How about either putting “how about” at the start or some ???? at the end???
-
Yes. Maybe I have a poor memory but I seem to remember Jeffy putting in some shockers in the wet.

No doubt the Christians will stick together “nothing to see here”!

Neck and neck race between Richardson and Bolton. Buckley after the (hopefully) late season choke ???

How about midnight Sunday without the lights? Couldn’t be less appealing

The only “zoning” I could be comfortable with would be requiring all players other than centre square four, and two wingers, being inside the 50 meter arc at the start of quarters and after goals. No mark for backward kicks other than from inside forward 50 arc could reduce the frustrating time wasting clock running especially late in games, and force more attacking thrusts. No mark paid to the defending team at the kick out after a behind until the ball clears the 50 arc could provide more contests. And definitely only a perfectly executed tackle should ever result in a HTB free, thus encouraging and rewarding the guy who goes in and gets the ball. The stacks on the mill crushing the guy who goes in and gets it rewarding the vultures is a source of anger and frustration to me and others.

I guess were it actually relevant to my work, as it is with Petracca, then I would say yes. The brakes need to break.

Bloody hell the umpires love Frankenstein Last three minutes of third Q - the first a dive that would make the Tiger “world best ever defender” Prancer look an honest man, followed by another real softie

No Mr Neeld, we didn't. Do you mean like Malthouse at Carlton? :-( Interesting the wide diversity of opinions here, from disgust to ecstasy. Don't know really what to think, though presumably Peter Jackson has endorsed the appointment, which would give me some confidence.

^^^????? Does anyone have information as to how many times and how many weeks has he missed through hamstring injuries? Are they the same side? (I know he also missed with a shoulder, but have there been other injuries too?) At his best he is a valuable contributor, but I find it hard to think of him as a reliable half forward, and he seems miles away from becoming a midfielder.

Maybe Webber could enlighten us, but I think I heard that one may get by in straight line running but twisting and turning as in Aussie Rules it is not on.

Bex (compound analgesic) Bex was a strong compound analgesic which was popular in Australia for much of the twentieth century. It came in the form of APC (aspirin–phenacetin–caffeine) tablets or powder, containing 42% aspirin, 42% phenacetin, plus caffeine. The phenacitan was an anti-inflammatory as I recall that killed off kidneys (and thus sometimes their owners) and was banned maybe in the 1960s

Being rested to be fresh to take us apart.

Jack Watts was instrumental in our win last year so surely it was his fault for not being there. Unless we actually win the flag there will be some who will harp on about this. Even then if we win by 10 goals they will say we would have won by 20 had we been to camp. I see they are resting J.W. to be fresh for us

Just a pedantic moment: Pedersen was not really playing as a key forward but rather as a third tall with ruck duties. And I agree that Weideman played the role better than Peds did on Monday, and is the future. Harmes - yes ANB - yes Hannan- probably a bit Trac - sadly, no

?? One key player injured at present, must be yet another stuff up by the club ?????
-
Does that tossed Christian just have to say “misconduct” to fill Gill’s coffers? What is the allegation?
-
Options, Biff? And do we have any update on Oscar’s injury?
-
I don’t watch that crap but he needs to start focusing on playing football ..... refuse all media approaches unless and until he puts together a string of top rate games Too many players seem to get ahead of themselves, and / or believe media hype that is inappropriate Presumably he uses twitter and / or Facebook or other antisocial media ..... maybe the players need to be told to dump these until they win a flag, then and only then are allowed to use them for one week and one week only.

Maybe this explains a lot, if it is not an acute injury? Hopfully, whatever the injury is, he will come back quicker, and hungrier, than ever.

I think that Pedersen doesn't work in the third tall forward rotation with Hogan and Tommy in the effective way that Weideman and later Bull Smith played. (Heaven forbid but were we too be without Tommy or Jesse he could play a fill in role there). Not so sure about reinvention as a defender - may prefer to try Petty early. I feel that you are being very harsh on Oscar, who hasn't been beaten all year and now you want to drop him because he was 'beaten' by a freakish giant who was the beneficiary of pressureless delivery from up field. Agree re the lack of leg speed, but dropping Melksham who has been (until yesterday) one of our most skilled half forwards won't be the answer. Nobody is going to have a flawless season - should anyone who has one bad game be dropped? So much for stability. Howe, by the time he was tried by Roos at half back, had already lost interest and checked out.
