Steele Escapes Penalty for Gut Punch
daisycutter you are naïve and too charitable thinking that none of them saw it of course they did .... ah...MFC .....play on. They won’t say anything.

Steele Escapes Penalty for Gut Punch
BAMF - clearly YOU have never received a totally unanticipated punch in the guts. Next there will be folk suggesting that Oliver is a serial diver (which is what you are implying) and maybe should be fined or even suspended for that.

Darwin game dumped
Actually after yesterday maybe we should move more games to venues where I will not be tempted to waste my time and emotional energy by trying to attend. :-((((

Steele Escapes Penalty for Gut Punch
Seriously what do you really expect from such a corrupt and compromised organisation as AFL and their henchman at match review. Blatant double standards. I will never forget Bernie being reduced to vomiting after some north thug gut punched him which was also ignored. Such a bunch of bloody blatant hypocrites.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARRISON PETTY
Exactly, Dom. You beat me to the punch. Still, there are those who just love to see the negatives and just make their judgements on a single poor team performance. It is not as if the mids applied a lot of pressure to those delivering into their forward line.

Media Report
Much as I cannot stand the helium man, he is absolutely correct this time. Suicide has cost us dearly, in a big way by our squandering I 50 scoring opportunities - partly the fault of the forwards by not locking it in and scoring, but also the mids who just bomb blindly. round 1 v Cats (64 v 41 inside 50s), one could say round 4 v Hawks (54 v 53) round 14 v Port (68 v 39 round 15 v Saints (62 v 50) That is at least 2, probably 3 and possibly 4 games that we should (2), could(1) and maybe had a chance(1). One isn't going to get that many opportunities very often and scoreboard pressure just has to be applied. I would be very happy if we had absolutely nobody give us any pumping up ever or at least until we are celebrating a GF win. Our club, our players just cannot cope mentally with positive publicity. So, shut up media, even in the (unlikely) event that we turn it on over the next few weeks.

The Welcome Game
I thought that the Welcome Game was a welcome to St Kilda to have their way with us. At least that is how it turned out..

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARRISON PETTY
Yes, the poor guy had a shocker by all accounts - I saw only brief glimpses of the farce But at this time he needs support and encouragement from us all (though not more senior game time in the immediate future). Relentless bagging could shatter him for a long time. Positive feedback is always more constructive than total negativity.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 15
Goodwin often talks about structures but I don’t think that many supporters see much structure at all ?. Yep, regardless of whether we squeeze in or not this year with yet another mid season slump (don’t blame youth and inexperience Goodwin - haven’t seen the comparators for yesterday’s but Saints are young and inexperienced too). FAIL TO PLAN: PLAN TO FAIL ww How likely is he at 25 to suddenly develop speed and disposal efficiency? Serious answer please. Has anyone ever done this? If so, name names.

Lyon: "Best Equipped Group" to Win Flag
P The autocensor got you. Presumably you meant as “weak as a Melbourne FC team under any pressure. “ Not sure why that should be censored

Jade Rawlings back from Casey?

Essendon VFL v Casey Demons - VFL Round 13
^^ Thanks again to all contributors. Is Dion Johnstone now looking like a keeper as an apprentice to Nev. Many of us had completely written him off before he was sent into defence. I only was able to see little bits of the game (in poor quality) and I saw him lay one ferocious tackle. Frost looked ferocious too, though the little I saw was at times a bit of a frenetic headless chook. Prognostications?

Round 15 Non MFC Games
Well bee, IF and a big IF our guys put their minds to it and don't get ahead of themselves, we have a huge percentage opportunity over the next few weeks.

Essendon VFL v Casey Demons - VFL Round 13
I guess the question may be is Keilty competing with Petty (who got the nod this week) or with J Smith? (I don't know the answer to this question b y the way.)

Round 15 Non MFC Games
I have moved on from that sad weekend - Adelaide did not cost us finals, our guys did by drowning in their own bathwater the day before. Came out thumping their chests thinking of the Collingwood game as merely warm unto finals ... YUK! Who here would even remember the WCE Adelaide game had our team done what it should have, and could and would have had they had the right attitude, which is focussed and ruthless?
