I will preface by saying that I wasn't able to get to the game nor to see even one moment of TV. Is it time for some biblical reflection? Clearly we need more talent and leg speed, and hopefully will recruit accordingly. Trading in under performers from other clubs to underperform for us hasn't gone at all well in recent years. We desperately need a clear run of injury from the start (Brayshaw, Petracca, Oliver, Viney, and they were our best mids, Petty and Melksham half the season, Bowey, May, Spargo who essentially missed the whole season then Windsor to ice the cake) and as the season seems shot some who need a "rest" to get ready for preseason should be considered now. If we can start the season with a full list of those who will be able to play most of 2025 we will be in a far better shape. I personally don't see us as bottoming out. Some say play all the kids now - but if they are all thrown in the deep end at once will that really help? Sure the likes of K Brown, Woewoden Howes should get more exposure and maybe even Sestan at some stage, but Jefferson whilst tempting could have his development curtailed unless introduced carefully. Has Laurie had the line put through already despite his contractural status? I feel being dropped after his best game was saying something. Just trying to see some possible positives to save my teeth from terminal gnashing. Amen

You say Billings and Fullarton will play 2025 = probably at Casey. Cranky - this is a DRAFT review for 2021, not a critique of our trades 2023. And please pray tell how YOU would have handled Brundy and Jordon differently given the midfield we had in 2022. Thanks I don't think they said anything at all about the "5 or 7 dud trades". I don't expect that many will be happy with the trade outcomes, but as per topic most are very happy with the 2021 DRAFTS.

What is it in close finishes, though we did come from well behind? Our best is good but our worst is bad. Is that typical of clubs that finish 7th - 14th? I must say we have had the luxury of not taking too much interest in those rankings that past 3 years. What is needed to get more consistency? We do have a classy list of youngsters McVee, Windsor, AMW, JVR, Chandler, maybe Turner, Howes, K Brown, Sestan, and yes Bowey if he can get a clear run at preseason and get over his injury which has impacted him significantly: is it youth and inexperience under pressure that is costing us? I note that it is mathematically possible to reach 7th, if we keep winning, and if we can get 8 on the trot it is 🏆. But when should we look ahead to 2025 and never again play those who will not take us there, including but not exhaustively Billings, McAdam, FullArton?
